@@Augfordpdoggie Muse does pretty well, too, I figured everyone was gonna say rush because they .. I mean, obviously. That's the number 1 answer and not just on the survey of 100 people-but yes, there to. However, I did come up with the one other band of the top of my head. So... Everybody gets to see this rambling commen!
I used to like stings newer stuff back before I really heard anything by the police. This song and this specific version was actually the first introduction to either that I had-someone copied it onto a cassette for me when I was 13. I didn't buy a police album for another 12 years but knew a few songs from radio & heard sting around. But before I hit 28, I was over stings later career stuff....And...that's still how I am inclined. Also, I obviously don't know when you were 12, but for awhile there in the 90s I think almost everyone in the entire world had a crush on sting. The entertainment news shows maybe the most of all
Andy Summers gets the kudos for being a super cool dude here. It looks like his guitar synth didn't produce any sound and he just laughs it off. From 2:35. He plays something with a flourish and no sound came out!😂
There were the obvious closeups of Sting - with the usual, “Look at my chest.” There were closeups of Andy and his cool guitar work and “singing.” But no closeups of Stewart drumming - maybe I missed something. Nope, watched again, only short glimpses of SC - oh well.
That’s funny, for me it’s one of those police songs that work so much better live compared to the studio version. Love the synth when sting starts singing.
agree. I dont think every little thing she does is magic hits the mark either...as a kid the chorus of each song captured my ear...there was a special melody in each chorus that had an island /Ska/reggae feel with almost beach boys like harmonies that they never captured it live. i loved each song as a kid , but have always been disappointed when hearing them live even when I so wanted to like what I was hearing...in every little thing there is a steel drum in the chorus that was never used live, but I think the harmonies were never duplicated ...and that is a major part of it
@@michaelfrazia4569 The piano and synths also make up a huge part of the song too that I wished on the reunion tour, they could've at least had it part of the backing track
Total love/hate with this song. The melody around the verses are so dramatic and cool, dark, brooding. But then there’s the happy happy chorus melody which i can’t stand 😆 oh well 🤷🏼♂️
The sound they create is unreal for a 3 piece band
you shud check out rush
@@Augfordpdoggie I was gonna say lol
@@mitchellsmith4152 same me
Well, there are at least two backup singers, too.

4/24/22 MY LOVE FOR THIS SONG BROUGHT ME HERE TODAY!!!
Only noticed the other day the opening synth plays Stings part from Money For Nothing!😂
Saw them on this tour early 1984 in Honolulu, end of the Police era
how lovely
amazing performance
it drives me into a "dream"
into beautiful imaginations
I must admit at 12 I had a special crush on Sting. But things have changed now. I prefer his first musical period than the last he does.

Sting, the most underated bass guitar player of all time!!!!!
@@Plainandsimpletruth he is highly rated as a singer but his bass work overlooked
Lemmy Kilmister RiP
I would love to see these 3 guys have a final reunion for a farewell tour!!!!

At the top of their game.
The legend.
.....continious..
One and the same - Roland G-808, a beautiful (and as I understand it quite nice to play) guitar.
The Fixx opened-great double bill there!
i'm gonna stick my neck out and say.....IN THE TOP 5 OF THE BEST BANDS IN THE UK EVER !!!
What a great song, I love it! I put it into my "Shellshocked Radio - Recommendations" List: th-cam.com/video/wU9MWDKTjfg/w-d-xo.html Very well done!

On the dvd you will find three different camera angles, one of this is only closeups of Stewart Copeland.
arguably better than bonzo imo
Would have been better Sting shirtless or that handsome sexy drummer😅
Lol that dire straits part before it starts
Heehee yeah. Sting was on Money for Nothing. I want my I want my I want my MTV. At Live Aid too. Good re-use of a cool theme.
in Montserrat Knopfler asked Sting to sing the chorus of money for nothing a-là don't stand only in 1985
Okay, I was six when this released...Always had crushes on teachers since then (and older men)...The eighties was such a bad influence on me... :O
I want my mtv!!!
Bass pedal city on this one. Start sounds like Rush.
I want my MTV...
For me this song never worked live , should have dropped this for Everything she does is magic .
it's hit and miss. I t can work better than this here
What do you mean with "never worked live? I think it sounds great, and it is an amazing song

They took me home...
& Poured me into my bed...
& Fucking Kept my Keys....
I think Andy's guitar on this song is the same model Pat Metheny usually plays with his Roland Synth...
Está afinada en RE, solo para esta canción
Would like to see a release of this video with whole set-list re-instated and all the silly effects and crowd close-ups removed.
2020 theme song😀
Yup I'm almost sure it is.
Cameraman forgot there was a drummer
Enfoquen a Stewart Copeland.
Se toco todo ni una toms
Este video es del dvd que venían 3 camaras. Está es la camara de sting.
Why they didn't put this on the VHS of this concert I'm not really sure? It's good to see it now. Thx.
Hey dude, where's my Wah?
Las " visitas" a los tres días apestan, las niñas tristes....
Seems like Andy is having some trouble with the Roland guitar/synth the "solo" in the middle....
andy summers
Who is playing the synth bass when Sting starts singing??
Andy with a Taurus Foot pedal
