Sleepin on World at War. So immersive. Game was goated, felt like you were really inside of world war 2. Loved every map, design was most similar to MW2.
@@TheXclusiveAce I felt like this but for mw2, I didn't give mw2 a chance bcuz I was so in love with w@w and the zombies kept me around for the life span of mw2
Does anyone else remember MW3 point streaks that came before BO2? Chose between assault, support, or specialist. Objectives and assist count towards your streak, which helped reward objective gameplay! That was my favorite system
BO2 scorestreak system is still better, however, if a CoD dev team can bring the back Support, Assault, and Specialist with score instead of points, it will be the best system.
It's interesting seeing how skill level impacts people's views on MW 2019. All my buddies that aren't good at the games love MW, and all my buddies that are good hate it. The SBMM killed the experience of the good players in favor of the average and below average
@@galaxspace1 Cold War doesn't have doors and it doesn't have a really fast TTK. Infinity Ward devs have openly stated that they put doors and a fast TTK into Modern Warfare to allow bad players to get kills easily. You can look it up if you don't believe me. They created the game for the worst people possible, and screwed over everyone else. Yes the SBMM is still in Cold War, but the maps don't have you exposed to a million angles when you cross a street and the longer TTK and faster movement allows you to counter campers
@@galaxspace1 I'm just speaking objectively about how the developers see the players and what the stats say. I don't think I'm better than anyone else because of my video game skill. I also don't slide cancel or jump shot or anything. Some players are statistically bad and some are statistically good. Not that complicated.
@@galaxspace1 what you see as "sweaty" can be completely second nature to other people. whenever I play modern warfare or vanguard I slide cancel without even thinking about it all the time 🤷♂
I only played WWII after the divisions rework and it's honestly one of my favorite CoD games ever. War was such an awesome addition, and I'm sad to see they never went further with it.
Ikr, it may not be the most innovative and revolutionary cod but everything about it was so polished and solid. Btw I got the game after its life cycle finished
Where were you when people were hating on WW2. Truly one of the greater boots on the ground CoDs in the last decade and definitelly the best out of the last 5 CoDs
So weird. As someone who had played earlier CoDs and hated the franchise in general, MW19 multiplayer is what changed my mind and turned me into a CoD fan. I guess maybe the devs' main objective with that game was to draw new players? If that's the case, they did a great job hooking me.
Yep, that was stated by the devs before launch, it was designed to attract newer players and it was very successful but that unfortunately came at the cost of alienating many of the most dedicated fans of the franchise
@@TheXclusiveAce i gotta respect that they tried smth new though. People shit on mw yet complain that every cod is the same. It was also mainly SnD oriented in the game design so for 6v6 grinders i can see y they had a problem
I mostly agree but as a Snd player mw2019 played great for me. When I was grinding camos though I did see how the respawn game modes just didn’t play well.
MW2019 had great S&D, Ground War and Gunfight experiences. However when it came to the standard 6v6 experience of Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint etc it was quite terrible when compared to the games that came before it.
Yeah the DLC maps as well were incredible, you pressed select to toggle DLC off/on which is the only COD game that did that, absolutely loved the endless maps this game had, even 2v2 maps, All or Nothing Mode.. - just name it, that game was incredible
As someone who despised IW, I recognize that a lot of it may have been because I was completely sick and tired of the whole jetpack/supply drops up shoved up my ass fuckfest that was going on at the time. I went back to play the campaign a few years later on recommendation from the internet and it was suprisingly very decent. It also has a very enjoyable zombies experience for what it was. The game really drew the short end of the stick being the third jetpack game in a row.
@@kaylo1680 yeah it did. Good that you were able to enjoy it when revisiting. The supply drops were not cosmetic only as they had variants in there - some which couldn’t be obtained any other way - but it was definitely an improvement (and a welcome one) compared to BO3. Because in IW, u got the base guns for free - just from doing a challenge. I had the season pass so I got given them immediately. So that was really good.
I know it's an extremely unpopular opinion but I loved BO4, I still go back and play it at least a couple of days a month. The specialists just added that little something extra that could change the way you played a map depending on which specialist you were using.
I'm really glad to hear you stand up for infinite warfare. It was the underdeserving victim of bandwagoning, and was the best future cod, and had a really player friendly model. Very creative zombies mode too, and the campaign was one of the better ones in the series
i wouldn't agree it was the best future cod, black ops 3 was better gameplay-wise. infinite warfare, as you pointed out, was much less egregious with it's monetization model in comparison to black ops 3. most people bandwagoning infinite warfare didn't actually play it though, so i personally disregard most people's opinions on the game unless they've played it. same with vanguard tbh, i disregard the opinion of those on the hate bandwagon for a game they never played.
i played IW a bit and it is a lot of fun and being able to get all weapons with the season pas is awesome compared to bo3 lootboxes. but going from bo3 to IW you cant help but feel its a little copy and paste job, kinda like going from mw2 to mw3(but not that bad ofcourse). also i think AW is the best future cod. i like the jetpack a lot there. and i porsonnally dont care about the variants. its just a matter of adapting to it and defeating them with what i have. honestly if the game didnt have supply drops, had a way of earning variants and had wallrunning it would have been perfect for me.
@@TheXclusiveAce i love MW19, but his points are very solid and valid. I find tdm to be very slow but i find hq, snd and shoot the ship very fun and fast paced.
One of my greatest gaming regrets is missing out on Blops 2. At the time I just didn’t really jive with black ops or Mw3 and had kind of given up on the series. I have a feeling I would have really loved that game.
It's the only CoD I went double PMaster in. You know what I slept on during that time? Zombies. I have been playing CoD since CoD4/WaW but didn't get INTO zombies until Black Ops. Like the newest one. During COVID I had to pull out my 360 and get plenty of those maps done, fuck Moon.
This isn’t to throw salt on the wound but BO2 in it’s prime was 1000% an unforgettable experience. And is similar in a lot of ways to other big time games that had their prime like Fortnite, Overwatch, etc. you just had to be there in order to know what it was like. BO2 will always be a memorable experience for me in gaming
The reason BO2 was so great to me is it was perfect for competitive and had the best league play but it was also perfectly balanced for multiplayer as well. The only problem the game really had for me was hit detection and lag.
I had almost the same experience, but played lots of MW3. That's when I started getting sick of the games. And when BO2 rolled around and had very similar map designs, I'd had enough. The games started feeling too cramped and fast paced. I revisited it not too long ago and was blown away with how fun it was.
I've got more or less the same experience of CoD as Ace and I loved MW 2019 and really didn't get the criticisms lots of people had. It often felt like I was playing a completely different game to Ace and everyone else, and it 100% saved CoD for me. After Black Ops 4, WW2 and IW I was ready to throw in the towel and just stop, but MW brought me back. Despite Vanguard and Cold War really pushing my buttons and nearly turning me away, the only thing keeping me around is the hope that MW2 can improve on MW1 and be a total beast.
@@Dee-- no it wasn’t. It copied good things like Gunsmith and Gunfight from MW. It had a lack of content, 150 health/too slow of a ttk and it had a worse engine.

If they fixed the minimap, spawns and footsteps (I guess forget SBMM since that’s not going anywhere anytime soon), it would have been almost unanimously loved. As it is now though, the pros outweigh the cons. Firstly I don’t see this as a complete campfest. It had a few more campers per lobby on average than other CoDs but people did actually rush. You putting World At War in C because of it's "bugs" and then putting MW2 in S right after it while mentioning its even worse bugs is hysterical to me lol
I don’t know how people could call it slow? Stim rushes, hipfire shotguns, you can run and gun camp. You can run almost any play style. It literally plays like the og mw where you move from building to building rotating from spot to spot till you swap spawns.
Which is honestly confusing why Ace considers it to be "slow and campy." The game is anything but slow and you could easily deal with the camper situation by remembering their spots and have awareness when rushing.
The problem for me with Cold War was content. After I realized what I had to do to get the endgame camo I stopped caring, why you ask? So many weapons felt the same. "Am I currently using an SMG, an AR, an LMG?" I often times wondered. After I understood the attachments and that they are basically just copy and pastes, I just kitted out every weapon in one category the exact same. I was so bored with the game after a few months that I just couldn't stand it. I hate Vanguards long shots, but using different weapons is fun and experimenting with weird attachments makes it interesting to test stuff out. But overall, the lack of progress or achievements in the last 3 games was abysmal. Felt like you have nothing to do.
Definitely nothing to work for which sucks because it made the game boring. Ranking up guns was a chore. But the core game play was incredible IMO.. I love to rush and this game gave me that!
i agree with cold war weapons feeling too samey to a certain extent, specifically with a good amount of the post-launch guns, but i don't personally agree with vanguard's attachments. it's fun at first, but i think it gives way too much freedom, and makes guns feel too samey as well. it's like, with the 10 attachment system, you can make the gun you want without the trade-offs of using it, which strips away the uniqueness of each gun. sometimes, giving too much options, too much freedom, does more harm than good in game design. it kind of reminds me of when sledgehammer did pick-13 with advanced warfare. too much freedom from pick-13 harmed it.
Bro I really agree with you the Cold War attachments are copy and paste nothing special but I do like certain aspects of the game though it’s an ok game but nothing amazing and does get boring quick
Why exactly do the majority of people hate vanguard? I played it a bit, it wasn't that good but I kind of think the hate might be a bit unwarranted. So I would like to here why people dont like it.

@@blainereinsma2423 I think BO3 balanced advanced movement with boot-on-the-ground movement the best. Infinite warfare was a great game, but you had to really take advantage of the movement system if you wanted to dominate, so I can understand why a lot of people didn’t like it as a call of duty game. It also came out at a bad time because the community was tired of jetpack cods after advanced warfare and bo3. It is definitely one of my favorite games in the series though, and I remember watching almost all your IW videos because you were one of the few that covered the game extensively.
Cold War is legit the most Cod feeling cod mp since Black Ops 2 Now me and my mates got into after Vanguard came out and all the old school maps were released. But damn, it's freaking amazing if you're after that classic Treyarch cod
its honestly crazy how polarizing MW19 can be. I think it's an S tier easily and I still go back and play that more than I did/do cold war or VG. It really reeled me back into cod as a whole. It’s a great Tier list and overall I’m fine with your picks. Except MW2019. Like you said it - either you love or hate it. For me - I love it. It reinvented my love to the whole franchise. I can't see giving MW2 S Tier. I know it can be super fun, but it can also be maybe the most annoying COD at times with the broken elements. I may be in the minority, but I give that game a B tier rating. Good, but generally overrated a bit. I'd give MW2019 a C. I don't think it's that bad. The map situation improved after the initial (mostly bad) launch maps. The guns, gunplay, and customization were maybe the best COD has ever seen. The feel of the engine was awesome. I can agree with the negatives, but the positives raise it up from gutter trash that Ace sees lol.
MW I think he should have put at C. I agree. By that I mean from his perspective. But I mean, that’s not what he thinks then. Kind of crazy that he put it below AW, Ghosts, WAW, MW3, etc.
I can understand why you gave modern warfare 2019‘s multiplayer and F. The map design and SBMM killed the experience but I argue that everything else about that game was great! It’s B-A tier for me all things considered besides the MP
If they could just take the gameplay of mw2 2009 and combine it with the artistic beauty of mw 2019 that would be great, or maybe the gameplay feel of bo2 honestly
At the least going by the leaks, which of course could be wrong, it kind of sounds like that's what they're trying to do. From what we've heard MW2022 will supposedly be a lot faster paced, with there even being an option to shoot while sprinting. Also they're apparently abandoning the "safe space" map design, and yes they actually called it that, where they designed the maps to encourage camping and are instead going back to the classic Three Lane design that tends to encourage more movement. We've also heard that Activision has supposedly instructed Demonware to tone down the intensity of the EOMM (commonly mistakenly called SBMM) so that it's not as punishing for above average players since that was one of the biggest complaints of the last few CoDs. All of that would bring it much more inline with how 2009's MW2 played.
Hey Ace, I dont come around as much as I used to because my love for the call of duty series has slowly died since the end of MW2019's life cycle , but Ive been using your videos for tips, info and entertainment since the early days of your channel. You set the bar for all the other COD channels on TH-cam and I just wanted to pop in and say I appreciate you! On a completely unrelated note, youre looking healthy and happy and your hair looks great.
As someone who came back to cod to mw19 after years of not playing any, I have to say I really really liked it. Admittedly, outside of my standard rotation of ground war, 2v2 and SnD it was a bit rough but for those game modes that I played 99% of the time, I thought it was (edit: near) perfect
This is one of the best list I have seen but imo Ghost was not as bad as we remember. Maybe its bc Ghosts infected was the most fun ive had playing COD as a young kid but im still waiting for my Ghost 2. Especially with the previous releases I think Ghost 2 could be ELITE.
MW2 at S tier but MW19 at F tier is entirely nostalgia and nothing else. That "golden era" of CoD was often just as slow-paced, obnoxious, sweaty and campy as MW19 and anyone who thinks otherwise is either lying to themselves or is conflating their experience in more recent advanced movement CoDs with that of the old ones. You had MLG-wannabe sweats running UMPs and ACRs everywhere, LMGs camping every sightline of Skidrow, wookie suits hiding in the bushes of Underpass, matches on Derail hitting the time limit, shotgun secondaries for free, danger close explosive spam, commando pro users knifing you from across the map, the list goes on. When people think fondly of MW2 they're remembering the one time they got a decent killstreak on Terminal, not the dozen times they got spawntubed on Wasteland. You may have noticed a lot of people who enjoyed MW19 were returning players who stopped playing CoD after around Bo2. That's because MW19, and its so-called "awful, slow, noob-friendly design", is a *return* to that "golden era" of CoD, not a downgrade from it. But go ahead and continue saying that doors somehow cater to noobs, while conveniently forgetting that things like Last Stand and Deathstreaks used to exist.
Exactly! I felt crazy seeing all of these creators put MW2019 in F tier. Some maps are horrible camp fests but camper hunting is a fun mode( that's what engineer and mid game class changes are for) A if not S tier for me.
You can never change my mind by putting MW higher than F tier. The whole point of the game was to cater to new players and casuals and completely left the dedicated hardcore player base behind. The worst feeling is that I was extremely hyped to play it because everything on paper made it seem like it could be the best COD ever made. I was In distraught after playing the beta
Modern Warfare 2019 the worst, really? Then I should also create my own tiers of COD influencers/streamers. Respect my opinion as I respect yours. I would love a black ops 1 remake more than anything, black ops 3 I though was great until the dlc weapons unbalanced everything. Black ops 2 just gotta get rid of the target finder, that thing drove me nuts
Black ops 3 was legit the best all round COD game! Hope we can get back to that style. Also, I may be in the minority in this, but I really enjoyed the money system from black ops 1. You didn't have to wait till level 55 or whatever the max level was to get the gun you wanted you just straight up bought what you wanted!
Bo3 wad terrible no questions asked. I'd probably rate it next to Modern warfare in terms how there was hardly any Gun comp skill and mostly just people spamming no skill specialists with no effort.
Content wise it was way too easy to prestige, there was Pay2win weapons, gun balancing that catered to bad players, Zero gun comp skill and it gets put higher than Bo1? lmfao. bo1 had everything casuals and comp players could dream of. MW2019 S tier for me. As someone who grinded Damascus on every single weapon I do understand its major flaws. But teaming up with friends and playing Cyber Attack/SnD all night into the morning hours brought back those MW2 moments that I loved.
MW19 eventually came around for me, and I eventually accepted it and respected it for what it was. I do love realism, but I think they took it too far to the point where it took away from gameplay. And after the majority of the player base moved on, the SBMM and camping became a little more tolerable, and the post launch content rounded out the game. But yeah, during the actual prime of its life cycle, it was pretty much impossible to enjoy. But I cannot deny that it has the absolute best feel to the weapons of any COD ever.

@@h4ns_1 I’m talking about things like the slower movement speed, doors, footstep audio, chaotic map design, overly loud gunshots and killstreaks, fast TTK, no minimap dots, difficulty seeing enemies, and campy gameplay (people would literally camp in real life) etc. All things that provide more “realism” but really end up making the game less enjoyable.
Honestly, with the switching around of a few picks, this is probably the most reasonable tier list I’ve seen. MP wise at least. Personally for Me, I would bump down IW to C, WWII to D, Vanguard to D. However I would bump World at War to A, Ghosts to C. As for MW19? S tier. I started in BO1, so I don’t have the love for MW2 that most people do (although it’s still in S as the times I’ve had going back to it were awesome), and I played consistently up until BO3, when I went on a “I’ll prestige once” hiatus from grinding CoD (although my play time in BO4 was hindered by crappy college apt internet), but MW19 truly TRULY reinvigorated my love for the franchise and made me love the MW universe more than I ever have. Wouldn’t put it over MW2, BO2, or BO3, but man. That game was the best year of CoD I’ve played since 2015/16.
Ground war saved Modern Warfare 2019 for me. The only standard maps people played were shoot house and shipment to grind for camos. The other standard maps, just amplified the slow play style that COD is not known for. I still put a ton of hours into this game, because ground war really was a great game mode.
Thank God I found another person like this. I've been saying this for a long time. Ground War was the best mode in that game, possibly the best mode in any COD ever. I'm a long time Battlefield player and Ground War gave me a lot of those same "only in Battlefield moments" that I remember fondly in BF3/4. I sunk hundreds of hours into that game mode. I still play it to this day.
You’ve never run into one man army camping nube tubes. Cod has never had fast paced gameplay it isn’t doom. You move slow as hell and most kills come from power positions and camping. Only the advanced movement games can even be called fast and they suck at it.
BO4's core gameplay was fine, but specialists were too powerful and the monetization sucked. MW2019's core gameplay is slow, boring, campy mess of a game with shitty game design choices that actively rewarded campers and punished aggressive players. So no, not the "same issues" as you put it.
Big picture higher level gameplay taken away was not the complaint for bl4 also? Pacing for mw had pacing sure but bl4 had the same. Only do difference one was waaay to fast and one too slow. If MW is a f Bl4 is a hard F also.
In current state I only play search and destroy, but I really enjoyed the Treyarch versions for zombies. That being said, here’s my top 5: 1.) 2007 MW, 2.) MW2 2009 3.) Black Ops 4.) Black Ops 2 5.) WW2 2017
6v6 is trash, but SnD and Ground War were amazing, especially Ground War. Ground War in MW2019 is one of the best game modes CoD has ever had. I hope they bring it back for MWII
I never played Black Ops 1 or Black Ops 2, and that is something that will probably haunt me forever. Just never had a huge interest in the Treyarch Zombies modes, and with how much people talked about them, I was under the (false) impression that the multiplayer wasn't as fleshed out as Infinity Ward's titles. However, I do have a store clerk at GameStop to thank for recommending Battlefield: Bad Company 2 to me when waiting for MW3 to drop. That game introduced me to the Battlefield franchise and instantly got me hooked.
Great video Ace, for me it's S: WAW; WW2; BO4 A: MW2; BO1; BOCW B: MW3; BO2; MW2019 C: MW1; Vanguard I missed Ghosts to Infinite Warfare so can't comment on them.
Schofield and Condrey might get a lot of flak nowadays, especially after WW2, but I feel they did a really good job in AW given that it was their personal project. The graphics and visuals were incredible for its time. You can tell they took their time developing the maps to fit the movement while also being balanced, and that's including DLC. Weapon balance was horrible but they eventually wised up. They poured themselves into that game and not surprisingly it showed through the attention to details.
I also find it weird how you didn't mention the ridicilously low chances to get any new guns in Ops 3. It was a lot easier to get the good variants in AW than it was to get new weapons in Bo3
Tbh the problem was that some guns in AW were shit without variants like the Hbra3 without the insanity variant + the gun balance in AW was a bit meh. Whereas in Bo3, almost any gun was good enough and new guns were simply a bonus and not too OP behind a paywall
I agree with Bo4 I remember being so ready for MW2019 and wanting to move on from it and then I realized what MW2019 really was and regretted not appreciating Bo4 enough, I played the hell out of it, not the greatest maps but they were solid (not all of the dlc so much but base maps were pretty balanced) the gunplay and hit registration was as good as it gets and the connection was prioritized over skill as it should be, compared to MW2019, BOCW, and Vanguard being plagued by intentionality shitty map design to cater to lesser skilled players, time to kill that was fast as hell to make it easier for less accurate players without thumbs to get kills, and EOMM/SBMM thick enough to make pubs feel like ranked really makes Bo4 look and feel like an S tier cod. I miss the days of being able to play with my lesser skilled friends and not having them have an awful time because my skill bracket is that much higher than theirs, shouldn't it be a mixed bag of player skill so everyone in the party has a chance to contribute? I've literally had people tell me they enjoy playing without me more because it's easier for them? Also I'm all for healthy competition but I almost don't enjoy doing well because I know the next game will be much harder, you can literally feel the game making it easier or harder trying to force you into a win or loss depending on what the algorithm thinks you need to keep you "engaged" and to increase your playtime. It's no longer natural and when I win I don't feel good about it because I feel the game is doing everything in its power to give me that win or loss. I'm above average and can compete with most people but after a long days work it's pretty hard to enjoy playing in that kind of system. I'm all for protecting the legitimately physically and mentally disabled but beyond that everyone should be thrown together and then have a separate ranked playlist for when you're able to get a team together and go hard competitively. Playing solo against full teams of top tier players 24/7 and not being able to have a good time with your lesser skilled players just because you're good at the game seems backwards. Why be punished for dedicating time and effort into getting better...in pubs? Why bother having ranked at that point? It's crazy too, I didn't buy Vanguard m and would be much more willing to buy $30 bundles in the store if they actually tweaked things. I guess their aim is cater to newer players even if it pushed away and alienates decade long fans that have been there since the beginning. The sad things is they aren't even doing things to benefit newer/casual/lesser skilled players, they're simply manipulating them into thinking they're actually good at the game by keeping them from anyone with half a brain to push them to play more and therefore buy more microtransactions. Its pretty fucked tbh but people blindly eat it up. It is what it is.
This has to be the best comment ever. I agree SBMM /EOMM has completely ruined everything now. All the maps cater to noobs and the TTK is so quick you can't even react to being flanked. SBMM also ruins the sense of progression because if your getting better you have no rank so you can't tell? Also if you do good it's like you get punished for it do good and you get harder lobbies. COD gives nothing to work for if you want rewards you have to get it through microtransations. 10 dollars for one gun camo. The guns have been terribly balanced and purposely broken (H4 Blixen) at the moment I've quit warzone and enjoying IW4X and plutonium versions of BO2 BO3 and the normal infinite warfare. The difference is massive bro its sad what cod has come to now.
This is one of the best lists I’ve seen. (IMO) I agree with 90% of this list only thing I don’t agree with is ghosts being so low. I would have ghosts 1 tier higher and move vanguard down 1 tier
I agree with all of these but Mw2019 is a D-tier game. It had an ok camo grind and interesting weapons too. But the game was only playable in Hardpoint and shoot house/shipment. So that's that. Also Hardcore playlist worked pretty well since ttk was almost always one-shot for everyone.
World at war is S tier easily, way better then cod 4, more game modes like war which was unique and very fun and zombies was legendary. The maps were way better too. Also modern warfare 2019 wasnt that bad, ground war was fun, sniping was fun, some good throwback maps and guns it should be atleast a C tier. Ww2 I wouldve also left in A tier, it made a huge comeback after that update and became very very fun especially war, got me back into playing cod more often, I still play that game sometimes.
I largely agree with your list and because you ranked Mw 2019 as F as I will do myself and gave a fair ranking to Vanguard, you deserve a shout out. And a new Sub. Great list Ace. 👌✌
modern warfare 2019 is in my top 3 i loved the movement and create a class system. but i also main snd i didnt play much of the standard respawn gamemodes unless i was going for camos.
A shame you could only get a decent chunk of those weapons randomly in supply drops. The monetization is the only reason why I would put BO3 in B tier instead of A.
@@joshyjoshyjoshy The supply drop system was predatory.. no argument here. Having said that though.. I've put more than 1000 hours in BO3 and I got all the DLC weapons with the crypto I earned. Never paid any extra money. And the game is S-rank tier even with the standard weapons.
@@OpinionAxe the fact that you needed to put more than 1000 hours (41 days) of gameplay to get all of them says enough, new content being locked like that completely ruins a game for me, I put lots of hours into the game and only got 1 weapon which was crossbow, game got extremely boring because of all of that content I knew was in the game but just couldn't have because of pure luck and greed
@@joshyjoshyjoshy I understand your point.. fair enough. Though for me, it never diminished the amazing gameplay .. BO3 was just the most fun I had with CoD save BO2. And just for the record, a lot of my ranged DLC weapons were earned with the special challenges like Triple Play and so forth.
I'd move MW19 to S. Personally, it was the game that revived my interest in the franchise. Felt like a meshing of tactical shooters with COD progression and came at the perfect time for me, especially since Battlefield had shot itself in both feet right about that time. I can understand why those who like more traditionally arcadey CODs would dislike it so strongly, but that's the exact thing I was fatigued of. I'm okay with faster paced gameplay for MW22 but I strongly hope they keep the more gritty realism, attention to detail and sensible mechanics in gunsmith, the weapons, operators, etc. Speaking of games that are NOT COD in the slightest, though, Black Ops 4 was about the worst COD I've ever played, bar none. That's straight F tier for me and it's no contest. It was an Overwatch clone full of clown characters and obnoxious mechanics, topped with the ultimate sin of probably the most draconian lootbox scheme in a COD to date. No campaign, no real innovation, just a pure devolvement into hero shooter gacha trash that I wouldn't touch again with a ten foot pole. Played like shit too, especially on PC which is my primary platform. Now THAT game is not COD. Never will be, not to me. I feel phantom pains just thinking about it.
Personally I play cod *b/c* of the fast paced casual nature of it. Imo that’s it’s main selling point. MW, while I do think it’s faster than other games, is still pretty slow compared to CW and even Vanguard. Still enjoyed it nonetheless
Here is my Call of Duty: Multiplayer Tier List: S Tier: Modern Warfare 3, Black Ops 1 A Tier: Cod4 Modern Warfare, Black Ops 2 B Tier: Infinite Warfare, Ghosts, World War II, Black Ops 4, World at War C Tier: Black Ops 3, Modern Warfare 2, Vanguard, Cold War D Tier: Advanced Warfare F Tier: Modern Warfare 2019
I would say I mostly agree with you except for Ghosts. I do think it's a good CoD. The problem is that it dropped the year after BO2. It wasn't amazing by any mean but the Perk system was a very interesting take that I think should be revisited sometime in the future. The Strike Package for your Killstreaks were still there and absolutely think that should be the golden standard for a CoD game. Finally it had bot matches where you could level up without sweating. That was great when you wanted to chill and still progress your weapons or character. I'd say that it is a B-tier to me.
I agree. For a boots on the ground fan I didnt play BO2 and was happy Ghosts was how it was. It has awesome guns (Honeybadger *;*), great maps. Clan wars was awesome for SnD Players. I really dont get why it got all that hate.
@@ZedsDeadZD Oh, yeah. You reminded me of one more thing I liked about Ghosts: the fact that some weapons had "free" attachments. Like the Honey Badger with its integrated Suppressor. I think some other games did it too (mostly IW games?) and I hope to see this feature again in future CoDs.
Rows not in any specific order: S: BO1, BO2 A: BO3, MW2 B: WaW, CoD4 C: CW, BO4, MW3 (a lot of people like this game but forget about the Striker/USAS with range proficiency, akimbo FMG9s, DMH, Support streaks, Stalker/Assassin/Sitrep) D: IW, WW2 F: Ghosts, AW, MW2019, Vanguard
Agree with most of it really, especially MW2019. I think a lot of people are looking back at that game through rose tinted glasses when nearly all of the content creators I watch trashed the MP early doors and would only play ground war. WW2 by the end was a fantastic game. Vanguard is okay for me, it's just been ruined by all the bugs and glitches
Sleepin on World at War. So immersive. Game was goated, felt like you were really inside of world war 2. Loved every map, design was most similar to MW2.
Part of me regrets not giving it more attention when it was in its prime but I was just too addicted to CoD 4 back then
@@TheXclusiveAce I felt like this but for mw2, I didn't give mw2 a chance bcuz I was so in love with w@w and the zombies kept me around for the life span of mw2
@@TheXclusiveAce fair enough both games are classics

Yeah. Woulda loved to see it come back with a few adjustments
Omg I forgot about my sweaters
MW3 prob had the best ks system, could use balancing but it was so versatile as to what u could run
It came back in ghosts too
BO2 scorestreak system is still better, however, if a CoD dev team can bring the back Support, Assault, and Specialist with score instead of points, it will be the best system.
But why MW had the most sweats out there
@@galaxspace1 I'm just speaking objectively about how the developers see the players and what the stats say. I don't think I'm better than anyone else because of my video game skill. I also don't slide cancel or jump shot or anything. Some players are statistically bad and some are statistically good. Not that complicated.
@@galaxspace1 what you see as "sweaty" can be completely second nature to other people. whenever I play modern warfare or vanguard I slide cancel without even thinking about it all the time 🤷♂
What's funny is that that tends to be the opposite for HC players
I only played WWII after the divisions rework and it's honestly one of my favorite CoD games ever. War was such an awesome addition, and I'm sad to see they never went further with it.
100% agreed. WW2 after the overhaul is a high-tier CoD MP for me.
Ikr, it may not be the most innovative and revolutionary cod but everything about it was so polished and solid. Btw I got the game after its life cycle finished
Yeah I was hoping war would come back for Vanguard. I still play it sometimes
The few months after WW2 was free on PS Plus were the best out there. Was such a breath of fresh air to play a good classic feeling cod again
I'm with you. MW brought me back. I liked the slower pace, amazing gun audio, great graphics.
But maps could be better. No persistent lobbies is dumb.
Wow person who hates the old cod likes mw19? No surprise lol!
Cant call yourself a "cod fan" if you only liked mw19
They hooked me too. this was by far my favourite MP and all I ever play is MW19. But clearly hella people still play.
@utcarbs probably the best ever in any game
As much as I hate MW2019, I actually agree. S&D played well in this game, even on Piccadilly

Yeah the DLC maps as well were incredible, you pressed select to toggle DLC off/on which is the only COD game that did that, absolutely loved the endless maps this game had, even 2v2 maps, All or Nothing Mode.. - just name it, that game was incredible
i hated the saturation for some reason. MW2 felt more alive.
I strongly agree with your placement of IW.
Would have been well received if released in 2014.
Has its problems but also huge qualities
IW was a fun game and it was at least decent. Really underrated - I think A tier is a fair rating or at least B. I loved it. I loved Mw more though.
Totally agree
@@kaylo1680 yeah it did. Good that you were able to enjoy it when revisiting. The supply drops were not cosmetic only as they had variants in there - some which couldn’t be obtained any other way - but it was definitely an improvement (and a welcome one) compared to BO3. Because in IW, u got the base guns for free - just from doing a challenge. I had the season pass so I got given them immediately. So that was really good.
I might have enjoyed it if I could play more than one game before getting memory errors.
Finally, a list I can agree with
I know it's an extremely unpopular opinion but I loved BO4, I still go back and play it at least a couple of days a month. The specialists just added that little something extra that could change the way you played a map depending on which specialist you were using.

Black ops 3 was more fun
@@i_amChrisJxmes fun is subjective
i wouldn't agree it was the best future cod, black ops 3 was better gameplay-wise. infinite warfare, as you pointed out, was much less egregious with it's monetization model in comparison to black ops 3. most people bandwagoning infinite warfare didn't actually play it though, so i personally disregard most people's opinions on the game unless they've played it.
same with vanguard tbh, i disregard the opinion of those on the hate bandwagon for a game they never played.
Honestly dont have an opinion about iw i only played cod4 remastered lol
i played IW a bit and it is a lot of fun and being able to get all weapons with the season pas is awesome compared to bo3 lootboxes. but going from bo3 to IW you cant help but feel its a little copy and paste job, kinda like going from mw2 to mw3(but not that bad ofcourse).
also i think AW is the best future cod. i like the jetpack a lot there. and i porsonnally dont care about the variants. its just a matter of adapting to it and defeating them with what i have. honestly if the game didnt have supply drops, had a way of earning variants and had wallrunning it would have been perfect for me.
The MW19 fan boys are gonna kill Ace with this tier list.
They’d have to come out of their corner to get to me first 😂

One of my greatest gaming regrets is missing out on Blops 2. At the time I just didn’t really jive with black ops or Mw3 and had kind of given up on the series. I have a feeling I would have really loved that game.
dude i feel literally the same way
It's the only CoD I went double PMaster in.
CW was good. the content in the beginning hurt it a lot tho
@@Dee-- no it wasn’t. It copied good things like Gunsmith and Gunfight from MW. It had a lack of content, 150 health/too slow of a ttk and it had a worse engine.
It’s a shame. If it didn’t have the cons of it, it would have been S tier. I rushed and was met with some aggressive play.
So what’s good about this game then? Well firstly it has the modern setting - the most popular era, with real life guns and it feels good. I could talk about the campaign being good but that’s outside the scope of this video. Spec Ops failed but again, outside the scope.
I know that Ace enjoyed Ground War and I think Gunfight too (although that got less attention later), so maybe he should have stated what he would have placed the game at had he just been looking at Ground War.
Anyway, it’s a shame that Ace didn’t enjoy the game more and Infinity Ward should have fixed the flaws of this game (they will probably learn from it for MWII), but the game felt amazing. It had a lot of content as well at the end of the game. It has like 54 maps in it now (including Ground War and Gunfight - which were fun, innovative and unique) and Infinity Ward helped make Warzone (it’s a shame that we had that crossover because it just took away from the mode/ruined it significantly Imo). @@itsmeSubDELTA MW2 was hacked early on too.

The only thing that I truly enjoyed about Cold War is lobbies didn’t automatically disban.
I disagree about the weapons feeling “the same”
Definitely nothing to work for which sucks because it made the game boring.
We can all agree Vangaurd sets at D tier and c tier at best. But over the past 3 years multiplayer has honestly been phased out in favor of warzone.

One of the worst games ever made. The game basically plays for you.
Been playing since CoD4 and MW19 is easily an S tier. There's something about it than I couldn't find in any other CoD, S&D could be it.
The matchmaking is horrid. In fact I wish the SBMM was tighter for 0.9 KD me.
Because in Obj modes, good Lord. The enemy is ptfo'ing hardcore meanwhile I get lone wolves who don't care or can't even watch my back when I'm on the Obj 🤬
WWII after the huge rework a few months into the life cycle gave it A tier potential but so many people had given up on it by then
Enjoyed MW very much, but some of the map decisions were confusing. Vanguard has to be the worst CoD I've played since the beginning of the franchise. I also agree that SBMM needs to be overhauled/fixed in a dramatic way.
Only Bad players and campers enjoy mw2019
I also enjoyed MW (I got wrapped up in this franchise b/c of it lol) but I feel that vanguard’s gameplay is just better while still feeling good to move around and shoot

One of the most accurate tier lists I've seen imo. For me though I'd put WaW at A, BO1 at S, swap CW and Vanguard, and IW at B. Everything else is pretty spot on
Ace on bo3 "loves advancement movement. Thinks it added Skillgap.Fluid movement. Setting, Map design, Scorestreak, Specialists"
Proceeeds to encourage Mnk players to use Xim+Aim assist on console in videos. Maps were mostly campy and hardly any movement once you set up. What setting? Specialists aka hero shooter gameplay catered to bad players to kill the better players, Pay2win weapons, Gun balancing to cater to bad players against good players who have better aim. Ace out here deceiving people and nobody sees it. Very accurate.
@Tyson Fury It's still a Garbage game by design. Majority of people give it too much credit due to the nostalgia value it has to Bo2. Not sure why you're so offended lol.
@Tyson Fury Literally no one comes out and says "I like Bo3 because of the Advanced movement!" Sad enough, you're trying to compare it to other Advanced movement lol.
The Advanced movement system in bo3 catered to Trash PC players who got Shet on PC so they went to console with their Mnk Xim+Aim assist and their Scripts. As I've said lol. No skill in the Advance movement lol. Stop crying.
Putting WaW in C with maps that good is crazy
for ace, it just comes from a lack of familiarity with the game. i think it's okay for him to put it there taking that into account, though i'd personally put it in a-tier myself.
Infinite war was my personal favourite cod; that said I really feel MW2 - yep ‘now’ - is right up at the top; loving invasion, prisoner rescue and WZ2.
Glad to see Infinte warfare get some love, i loved it too. I think people couldnt handle wall running and hated it unfairly.
BO3 had wallrunning and people loved it.

@@blainereinsma2423 never played BO3 but i loved infinte. Skill gap from wall running was a problem for alot of people.
@@blainereinsma2423 I think BO3 balanced advanced movement with boot-on-the-ground movement the best. You can do really well in BO3 without all the jumping and wallrunning.. whereas in IW (which I think is a good game still), the players who mastered advanced movement dominated.
IW alienated a lot of people. BO3 was able to get people back who skipped or didn't like AW.
I am an admitted treyarch fanboy. My regret is that I didn't get to play Black ops 3, and right now its way too late to purchase the game because its filled with hackers
Ive played BO, BO2, BO4, and BOCW and liked all of them (from least to favorite being BO, BOCW, BO4, BO2), but i just missed out on BO3. Looked like a really fun game

Now me and my mates got into after Vanguard came out and all the old school maps were released.

its honestly crazy how polarizing MW19 can be. I think it's an S tier easily and I still go back and play that more than I did/do cold war or VG. It really reeled me back into cod as a whole. I recognize a lot of the things people don't like and would change some of them but i find the guns/gameplay more enjoyable than any cod before that.
Yes I haven’t touched a cod since mw Cold War straight up killed my friend groups interest in cod so bad none of us even bought vanguard. I’ve been buying cod since mw and man is it sad to see the way people feel about mw19 I feel like the people that call it slow are people that played during the first month before all the op guns got nerfed and claymores.

It’s sounds like they are doing just that. Imo it’ll be a good year for those looking for a fast paced cod
All of that would bring it much more inline with how 2009's MW2 played.

bo2 best cod of all time, i agree on that 100%
As someone who came back to cod to mw19 after years of not playing any, I have to say I really really liked it.
Ghosts infected was pretty great! Definitely a highlight of that game for me
MW2 at S tier but MW19 at F tier is entirely nostalgia and nothing else.

Bo3 wad terrible no questions asked. I'd probably rate it next to Modern warfare in terms how there was hardly any Gun comp skill and mostly just people spamming no skill specialists with no effort.
Content wise it was way too easy to prestige, there was Pay2win weapons, gun balancing that catered to bad players, Zero gun comp skill and it gets put higher than Bo1? lmfao. bo1 had everything casuals and comp players could dream of. actual nostalgia goggles
Damn mw19 S???? 🤯😲
IW is probably the 1 thing I have ever agreed with you. I don't like it as much as you, but the public perception hurt a good game for no reason
Mw was so lucky it came out at that time imagine if you still had to pay for dlc hands down the worst cod
Constant sliding around, jumpshots and Grim Reaper edgy skins = realism. Ok.
It’s a shame. If it didn’t have the cons of it, it would have been S tier.
Anyway, good setting, the engine is excellent (graphics and sound quality), customisation was solid (the Gunsmith is better than the pick 10 system and Infinity Ward nailed it), the gunplay is really good, the time to kill is good (it’s fast but not as fast as even MW3, but a fast ttk is what most CoDs have & are meant to have), the killstreaks were powerful, u could use Specialist Bonus or scorestreaks, SnD played really well (although I mainly played respawn modes) and more.
The fast ttk just makes the guns more powerful and rewarding.
I love Modern Warfare. It deserved a S tier rating still I think or at least an A. I’m looking forward to the sequel.
@@bobdarrick2628 they also should remove sliding, mounting and tactical sprint and never add it again.

Same here. The 6v6 was so bad in this game. I put hundreds of hours into ground war.
You’ve never run into one man army camping nube tubes. Cod has never had fast paced gameplay it isn’t doom. You move slow as hell and most kills come from power positions and camping. Only the advanced movement games can even be called fast and they suck at it.
MW 2019 is f tier with same issues a bl4? Interesting 🤔
Mw 2019 is 100% the worst cod of all the time. The 6v6 is terrible smh
Agree
Great video Ace, for me it's
S: WAW; WW2; BO4
A: MW2; BO1; BOCW
B: MW3; BO2; MW2019
C: MW1; Vanguard
I missed Ghosts to Infinite Warfare so can't comment on them.
Modern Warfare is definitely an F. If we could extend the scale to fully factor in how bad it is, then it would be a Z.
They poured themselves into that game and not surprisingly it showed through the attention to details.
agree with all that except the movement was way too fast and annoying and I have nightmares to this day of getting system hacked 😭
Vandgard better than Ghost !! You Krazy!
World at War is A+ tier but MW19 was shite
I'm just in disbelief that Vanguard is ranked higher than MW19. Flabbergasted
This guy is a moron, how tf is vanguard two tiers above MW.
Unsubscribed
now,this is a list i can stand behind.gg's ace.
For some reason, BO3 had my favorite collection of weapons. All of them felt really cool
A shame you could only get a decent chunk of those weapons randomly in supply drops. The monetization is the only reason why I would put BO3 in B tier instead of A.
Too bad most of the weapons were locked behind supply drops, completely ruined the game for me, B tier at best, maybe C
PC gamer, checks out.
Personally I play cod *b/c* of the fast paced casual nature of it. Imo that’s it’s main selling point. MW, while I do think it’s faster than other games, is still pretty slow compared to CW and even Vanguard. Still enjoyed it nonetheless
I know this guy didn’t just put infinite warfare next to Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3! That game deserves an F!
Here is my Call of Duty: Multiplayer Tier List:
S Tier: Modern Warfare 3, Black Ops 1
A Tier: Cod4 Modern Warfare, Black Ops 2
B Tier: Infinite Warfare, Ghosts, World War II, Black Ops 4, World at War
C Tier: Black Ops 3, Modern Warfare 2, Vanguard, Cold War
D Tier: Advanced Warfare
F Tier: Modern Warfare 2019
What are usually the top 3 CoDs in most of the tier list videos online? IMO it's BO2, MW2, and BO1. What do you think?
i respect your tier list, but mw2019 is an S tier for me
wow him putting mw2019 as such a let down was quite a plot twist for me.
This is the first time seeing you’re face, not disappointed.
1. Black Ops
2. BO2
3. MW2
4. WaW
5. CoD4/MWR
6. MW3
7. BO3
8. MW2019
9. Cold War
10. Infinite Warfare
11. WW2
12. BO4
13. Vanguard
14. Advanced Warfare
15. Ghosts
Rows not in any specific order:
S: BO1, BO2
A: BO3, MW2
B: WaW, CoD4
C: CW, BO4, MW3 (a lot of people like this game but forget about the Striker/USAS with range proficiency, akimbo FMG9s, DMH, Support streaks, Stalker/Assassin/Sitrep)
D: IW, WW2
F: Ghosts, AW, MW2019, Vanguard
Agree with most of it really, especially MW2019. I think a lot of people are looking back at that game through rose tinted glasses when nearly all of the content creators I watch trashed the MP early doors and would only play ground war. WW2 by the end was a fantastic game. Vanguard is okay for me, it's just been ruined by all the bugs and glitches
Rose tinted glasses lmao i still play it till this day, content creators are the minority
Amazing tier list Ace💪😎
