Always giving such great tips and techniques, Karen! So glad I joined your Patreon where more is more! Lol Thank you. I might sound like an an advertisement, but honestly your Patreon subscription is so reasonably priced that one cannot afford not to join.
Thanks, Karen! I think something I enjoy about painting loosely is that you get a feeling of energy. There's movement and life in the painting that you can't quite recreate otherwise!
Another tip I 'taught' myself when painting from a photograph, is that it is not necessary to replicate exactly the colour hues you are seeing. Made a massive difference to the fluidity whilst putting paint onto the paper.
My first time watching this channel and so glad I did!! This was great, as I'm a newbie and just what I was looking to learn! Very loose and easy! Thank u so much!❤

I am trying to paint lose but it’s difficult for someone who, when using a source photo, has to try to get the painting exactly the same as the photo. Then I wonder why landscapes are not my forte.

What size sketchbook should we start with Karen?
If you follow Karen’s link, it appears she is using a 5”x8” sketchbook. 😊
