You are correct! The sunlight readable display is an intentional design that we build into many of our devices. The screen actually gets brighter in direct sunlight.
Bought Tactix Delta, but in interior it is difficult to read the display without backlight. The reason is most probably sapphire glass. But I don't want backlight to be used at all. So will return it. The only solution would be to add more steps in setting backlight - adding 1,2,3,4 % could help, so backlight would not eat battery that much and at the same time display would be visible when backlight is set to always on. 5% as minumum is simply too much, especially during the night.
I’ve had the Tactix bravo for less than a year and I love it so far. GPS works great. Whether it’s hiking on a trail in the mountains or taking a long run around town. It performs.
Hello! I’ve been wondering how to start a work out or activity on apps. Like example I’ve been choosing swimming but every time I choose this work out and press the start button it’s always pop out the lay out. Please I need help
I was thinking of a marq series to buy, but the tactix delta solar seems like it might be a better choice. I already use the fenix 6S sapphire for run/hiking and wanted something a bit fancier and bigger for EDC use. I do love the way the Garmin Marq Athlete looks though. Just wish the screen was bigger and it came with solar capability.
Notrom Sinned how are you finding it ?? Mine is also coming tomorrow I’m moving from a Apple Watch series 3 .... this looks more rugged and appropriate for rough days out hiking and whatever life will throw at it
S French So far it’s been a good watch all functions work and no complaints. Build quality is good and silicone wristband is comfortable to wear for days. GPS is fast and very accurate for wrist borne device. Just one thing I cannot figure out is how to change up formats in duel gps display, would like one in one format and the other in a different gps format, riddle me that one Batman! Would recommend to others if you got the cash, that’s the one real complaint for me the cost is too high!!! Thanks for asking hope yours works as well for you.
S French I’m not the guy to ask about apple as I never bought into their brand. Have always believed in open source products that you don’t get with apple. So I cannot help you there, but it’s definitely better than my gear 3 just cannot Dick Tracy with it but didn’t do that much with my Samsung anyway. Outstanding product would recommend to anyone who uses the outdoors and has a need to navigate and stay tuned into their environment.
I saw the Tactix Delta the other day at my local Garmin store. It's pretty awesome and incredibly well built, but for a tactical watch it should really have a carbon fiber reinforced strap ...the optional nylon strap isn't that much comfortable.
We are glad to hear you liked the Tactix Delta. Our engineers are always looking for ways to improve our products. To offer feedback directly to them please use this link. Garmin.com/ideas

Just got my watch and working on a review. One thing I can say for now is that it's very light for it size and the display is one of the widest in all the gamin watch I think.
I was thinking about picking up one of the Marq series, but the screen on this one is the biggest. Watch looks good too. Might pickup the solar version for my EDC use. Have the fenix 6S sapphire and love it. Just want a larger screen when I'm not running.
Glad to hear you enjoying your Tactix Delta! We are always looking for ideas on ways we can improve our product offerings, and encourage you to share those ideas through our website at Garmin.com/ideas.
@@GarminRetailTraining Hello, it would be great if you can make an easy update - setting backlight to 1%, 2%, 3% and 4%. 5% is simply too much. As I mentioned in my other comment here, 5% during the night is too bright, also for daylight in interior it looks artificial. So I have no backlight set but in interior it is very difficult to read the display. I don't want to return my new Fenix but this is a big problem, caused by sapphire glass. I noticed in this video (3:00 minute mark) and other marketing materials that you mention that you can see both UTM and MGRS at the same time which implies that the top of the screen is UTM and the bottom is MGRS. The display on the top of the screen on the watch is actually LAT LONG using the degrees, minutes format that aircraft use, not UTM. The bottom display is MGRS which uses the UTM format. Seriously, you're Garmin, you are in the business of land navigation and should know this stuff.
@@777Zubi The two main navigation systems in use are Latitude, Longitude which has been around for centuries and then UTM which has been around since the 40's. Lat Long has 3 different formats. The first one is called Degrees and is used for scientific purposes. The second one is called Degrees, Minutes, Seconds which is used for land navigation and it is the format that is found on maps. The third version is called Degrees, Minutes and it's what aircraft use to navigate. The military uses the Military Grid Reference System which is basically UTM for land navigation. When I'm on a Search and Rescue operation I will use the Lat Long Degrees, Minutes to give coordinates to helicopters and I will use MGRS/UTM to give coordinates to people on the ground.
@@777Zubi No it's perfect the way it is and that's actually why I ordered the watch. You need the top Lat Long to talk to aircraft and you need the bottom MGRS/UTM to talk to people on the ground. You need to have both systems, they just mistakenly called the top one UTM when it's actually Lat Long.

If you are not getting your sleep tracking information, please reach out to support.garmin.com. Our product support team would be happy to assist.
Yes. All of the activities on the Tactix Delta will still function the same as they normally do. The difference is that in Stealth Mode, there will be no record of the event once you close out of that activity.
Please get rid of the widget timeout, or at least make it selectable. It's the only really annoying feature this watch has. I don't always need to be doing a timed or tracked activity sucking battery power to want a compass or altitude display. I bet you could do it with a software update, and for a watch that's well over $1000 I should be able to decide when to turn on and off my widgets.
I wonder when the public will wake up to how they are being fed marketing tactics (excuse the pun). Stealth mode, a kill switch, minimise light reflection for operating with night vision goggles, high altitude parachute release points.. hahaha! I guess if all the people in the world who actually have opportunities to use these functions suddenly decide to dump their current Casio and buy this.. then Garmin should sell at least 500 watches worldwide!
Looking forward to this watch but I think your product video would be much better if you showed more watch and less of a guy talking about the watch. Most of the video is him talking to us and very little of the actual watch features etc. No one wants to stare at this guys face instead of the watch.
Garmin - Get rid of the Widgets time-out!!!! While I understand Garmin considers widgets to be "quick-view" features, they are actually incredibly useful TOOLS that consumers are restricted on using. Why on earth would I want my watch to have the capability of displaying a functional compass, altimeter, barometer, weather information, heart rate...etc, but only for 60 seconds at a time???? It is not far-fetched to think someone might go on a hike or a walk or even while riding in a car, and simply want to have a compass displayed, or simply watch elevation changes, or changes in the barometer, and not actually track and log an activity which wastes battery. If saving battery is a concern, then simply utilizing the TOOLS which are widgets is a huge benefit! Yet, there is no way to turn off the time-out setting which returns the watch back to the watch face after a minute. For the cost of this device, widget time-out should be up to the consumer, not Garmin.
