Merry Christmas Eve guys. Wanted to have a good video for you guys today that wasn’t about the world drama. 🇺🇸🇺🇸. I also thought something to show the wife for a last minute Christmas gift for yourself. 😂😂. Thanks for watching and hope you guys have a great day with your family.
Can you make a weapon light for 1911s just like how you make glock weapons lights. I am just asking because I do not what to buy a surefire light and have my money going to anti 2A politicians. Also i am not a glock guy i thank glock just feel like a toy gun. That's why I like 1911s over glocks.
Garmin Tactix Delta also has this smart watch with a ballistics calculator for anyone who may benefit in long range shooting. It is a jump in price but a very nice option!
I've worked in Naval Aviation for some time and have had the tactix delta solar with me since it released last year, amazing watch, put it through its paces and its incredibly durable though I've managed to scratch the bezel and back up quite a bit. Battery life is amazing, viewablility with the MIP transflective display is excellent outdoors but not so much indoors and the features to this watch are endless, still finding new things over a year into owning this device, truly the best watch for the military, LEO, survivalist worlds. And the kill switch takes about 3 1/2 minutes to fully reset the device but a note is a data recovery specialist may be able to recover any lost data as long as it hadn't been overwritten.
as a precautionary side note DO NOT CHARGE IT UNTIL ITS LESS THAN 50% it will kill your battery early ask me how i know. also the silicone bands don't last more than a year the titanium one is a great replacement for it from my experience.
@@b4ds33d are you stuck in time where nickel-cadmium batteries with memory effect are still in use? Or you are implying that modern Garmin watches use those instead of lithium ones?
Very nice. I converged on getting the gshock GWG2000, although less featured, its a standalone w solar that meets my needs. Nice to see they're improving battery life. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas brother! Hope ya'll have an amazing and safe time with all your family. Cherish this Christmas even more, it could be our last time we can celebrate it with our society intact the way it currently is. GOD BLESS.

If James Bond had that watch, he would have a 1000x better watch than his Omega, that is, until it ran out of battery power. I never saw Bond on a two-week-plus extended mission in the field anyway. He always had a hotel room and charger handy.
I remember the hunk of plastic on my wrist called the g shock back in the day. It took one day in the field to stop working. I leave all electronics at home now.
Not being a tech savvy kind of guy, this video opened my eyes to a new world of tech! I never knew something like this existed. Yeah, I lead a rather sheltered life here in rural Minnesota. We don't even have internet here! Thank goodness for 4G coverage or I'd be totally isolated! It looks like something that would take some time to learn, but it all seems useful. Just when you thought you had it all...
If you have contact with Garmin, one thing I would like to see, being a single father of an autistic child, is to be able to track a Garmin watch with a Garmin Rino 750. But also communicate with the watch and a Garmin radio. Make it so you can set radio and watch to track only that watch or up to 5.
Buddy it seems it does not have weather Data if u chose other watch faces? I've tried numerous times it's also solar watch which should be using GPS. I turned on location but I leave my phone at home any thoughts?
I’ve been through 4 watches this calendar year and 6 in the last 16 months. I’m a tactical athlete (wannabe ) and I train very rough. Samsung, 3 Fitbit and 3 Chinese they all last about the same none has made it past 4 months.
The Garmin instinct original would be cheap enough to try it out, lots of good smart features still. Seen some people in reviews just toss them against rocks for fun.
The best tactical watch....is the one that you know how to use. Functions without a computer and offers reasonable ease of use. One thats proven in combat. I've gotta try that thing.
When I was like 10 or 11 or so I really wanted a Apple Watch so I called my cousin up and said I wanted a Apple Watch and how to convince my mom to get me one but long story short he is in the navy and told me that digital or analog watches were better and that they were more durable and lasted longer and told me to get a g shock so I got a g shock and absolutely loved it and now I have a garmin instinct solar which is almost as durable as a g shock and it’s not like a Apple Watch where it always needs a phone or phone tower it can basically work on its own
This is above my "boomer" tech level of "intuitive" understanding. That being said. I have a few questions. How does it "see" the GPS satellites? Is the antenna in the watch? Is it connected to the cellular phone network? 4G, or worse, 5G? Are there any built in Comms? Is the watch approved for use by AD military personnel. I think the Apple Watch activity info was revealing the PT tracks and locations of deployed AD several years ago. I believe it was banned? I don't know if it was hacked or considered a "feature" by the Chinese military? Probably stupid questions but my enquiring mind wants to know. Can real time blood glucose be added to it to track during PT? Body temp? HR? EKG? EEG?
There is a GPS receiver (no transmission) with antenna in the watch. No connection with 4G or 5G directly, but does communicate through your phone via Bluetooth. There’s also built in Wi-Fi and ANT+ support. I can’t say what the military stance on it is, but I do know they do issue some harm in watches. It does not do glucose levels, body temperature or EEG/EKG. It does have an HR sensor with the ability to record HRV, which allows it to provide some very handy biometrics like “body battery”, recovery, sleep ratings, stress, etc. it also has an SpO2 sensor. All sensors are configurable. It really is a great watch.
These watches are allowed for active duty, but any devices that utilize Bluetooth, GPS, or data services (so cell phones, GPS devices, this Garmin watch, and similar smart watches) are NOT authorized in classified environments/some team/hq rooms. For 90% of the military, it’s allowed.
One thing I hate about smartwatches and digital watches is that they can be easily effected by an EMP or any form of electronic warfare so if I was in the military I would wear the garmin tactix delta and a Rolex or seiko with a automatic movement just in case
Yeah, I usually prefer wearing a Rolex because it CAN be used in a pinch, to get out of a jam, because they’re universally known for their value. Problem is, in some 3rd world countries where I work, wearing a Rolex actually draws WAY too much attention and very negative attention. For example, I was recently working in Argentina and Uruguay and there are loads of criminal groups actively searching for people wearing Rolex watches and they target you for them - NOT something I want in my work. I want to blend in and fit in. Even my Garmin watch can have more of a “tactical” appearance than I like to wear. Looking like an operator is NOT advantageous unless you are ACTUALLY utilizing/needing the features in a watch line that. I love my Applied Balistics features watch for shooting but it’s not a great option if you’re working outside the US and don’t want to be noticed. These days, I wear a Luminox watch or a Hamilton field watch when I’m in 2nd and 3rd world countries. They don’t draw unwanted attention and are plenty of value for emergency trades. Rolex is for Europe, Saudi, UAE, Singapore, Japan, etc. Garmin is for training purposes. JMO
I really would've liked to see a direct comparison with the Instinct. I watched both your videos on the Instinct and Tactix, but what do you personally think about the two compared against each other? What would be better for a survivalist? Obviously the Tactix has extra features, but the Instinct should have better battery life and outdoor readability, right? Which would you recommend?
That was my question. 👍 Thanks for asking. I like the sapphire glass, but I am really wondering if this watch is really worth double the price of the Instinct 2 Solar Tactical.

Says the guy with a smartphone being tracked and having all their personal information being sold to the highest bidder. 😂
@@philnleblanc6664 that's TH-cam for ya
Nice watch. Love the review video brother 👍
🙏thanks bro
Merry Christmas Eve y’all
Can it be used for hang gliding?
Yes
And now I have the Tactix 7 Pro
I would like something with less features for more around the $200 mark. GPS and solar maybe
Standby. We will be doing a variety of reviews in all ranges.
@@BlackScoutSurvival I appreciate it brother, great content glad to see a fellow Marine who puts out knowledge
The Garmin Instinct
would be in your ballpark.
@@longdongvondiqenbaum right up my alley, much appreciated!
Thank you 😊
MAN how you get that watchface 💪?
paracord strap?
If a watch has GPS it can be tracked. I stick to the simple gshocks that can't be tracked.
What's the name of this face?
More stuff to break. I am fine with my old fashioned quartz watch. Not into the new super large hip hop rapper style watches.
@Case Adventures I can respect that, that is a rough and crazy sport, you mountain bikers are hamburger but I still can't get used to the "huge" watch craze. Thanks for the input and Merry Christmas
Nice watch BUT I don’t know if I’d trust wristbands that just “snap on & off” like that..? That looks pretty chintzy to me..and sure, I’m SURE and assuming no doubt they’ve TESTED their durability, etc., it still doesn’t seem real quality-like ON A HIGH-END watch like this. Scared to even know what the price is!?
for that price I will be sticking to the sun dial & smoke signal... cloud storage no thanks.
