Never saw the texturing tool before. Very cool!
Thank you, Denise!
They are really neat. I still have to get the hang of using it.
Take care,
Tanya 😊
A lovely piece of work.
Thank you so much, Don!

Very nice!
I like the texture tool. I'd like to see more about how that works. Thanks.
Thank you! I will work on a video of how the texturing tool works. Please keep checking my channel for that.

Love this. Great work as always!
Thank you, Debbie!

Enjoyed the video and results of the Osage Orange. I would not consider myself a wood turner, although I have done so. Most of my work on a lathe has been with metal and I find that many of the techniques translate. I have family and friends who turn and I visit when I can. I find it very relaxing to see the item develop from raw to finished product. Keep turning!
Thank you so much, Thomas!
I would imagine you would use the same technique, whether metal or wood, lathe.
Woodturning is very relaxing, and just the satisfaction of the end result is amazing.
Thank you for watching!
Take care,
Tanya 😊
Good afternoon. Thank you for the video. Your bowl is beautiful and the embellishment adds great character. Very nice.
Thank you so much, Ray! I really appreciate it 😊
Take care,
Tanya 😊
We call it "hedge apple" here in Kentucky. It will dull a sharp chain saw trying to cut it. I know a guy who tried to burn it for firewood and it burned through the bottom of his stove (no fire bricks). It was used by the Native Americans for arrow shafts and later for wagon wheel spokes. It is tough wood, but beautiful.
I know I did a lot of sharpening while I was turning it. I could imagine how dull it would make a chainsaw chain.
Definitely some tough wood.
Gorgeous work and colors Beautiful
Thank you so much!
Take care,
Tanya 😊

Saludos.

Great looking bowl! love the embellishment!
Thank you so much 😊
Looking good.
Thank you, Brad!
Great job Tanya
Loved the embellishments and color of wood...great looking bowl..
Thank you so much, Ian!
I love your work. I have a eucalyptus root I will be turning in the future. Will be one of my first turns to try. I bought a midi lathe from harbor freight as a replacement for the old craftsman I lost in a fire. The first time I turned was to see how the tools worked. Now will be to create a finished piece. I'm watching videos and reading to learn how to turn. It looks fun and creative along with stress relief when finished . I love your style as you make it look easy and fun.
Thank you so much, John!
I absolutely love eucalyptus; it is my favorite wood. I also love camphor wood.
Woodturning is an excellent way to express yourself. I find it so relaxing to go into the shop and just let my artist side show through.
Please, once you are done turning the eucalyptus root, please email me a picture. My email address is in the video description.
Take care,
Tanya 😊
Very pretty bowl. Great job Tanya.
Thank you so much, Ralph!
I live in Texas and we have an abundance of Osage Orange. I came across some from some trees that were victims of a Texas freeze. I turned a small piece as an experiment and loved the finished wood.
Hello Rick,
Don't get me wrong, it does finish well and has a beautiful color to the wood. I guess we all have our likes and dislikes.
Take care,
Tanya
Great idea with the bowl blank giveaway!!! Also, the texturing with the coloring was a very nice touch! Love your work, keep it up. God Bless
Thank you so much, Brandon! I liked the idea of the bowl blank as well.
Thank you for watching 🤗
Take care,
Tanya
That first bowl definitely went to the firewood box. Great videos 👍👍
Thank you so much, PJ!
Take care,
Tanya 😊
Tanya, I turn quite a lot of Osage Orange and is one of my favorite woods. It make very good tops as no matter the grain pattern it always spins true. If you have problem with it, or purple heart, etc. turning brown shortly after turning just put a coat of sun block on it a time or two a year an it doesn't turn. Hope to turn the apple and resin next week and will send a pic if it turns out well. You do really good work. Enjoy watching and keep making shavings!
Thank you so much, George!
I will definitely give this a try. Who would of thought sunblock. 🤔
Awesome bowl Tanya! I really love the texturing! …Woody🙂
Thank you so much, Woody!
Take care,
Tanya 😊
That came out really nice, Tanya.
Thank you so much, Billy!
Take care,
Tanya 😊
I love the Osage Orange bowl! The Robust inside tool rest is interesting. I do mostly smaller bowls. 6 to 9 inches and was wondering if one of these rests would be a big help. THANKS for another fun video.
Thank you so much! The Robust tool rest is a great thing to have. It makes turning the inside of your bowl so much easier. It's definitely worth it!
Take care,
Tanya 😊
tanya that is some pretty wood ive never turned that wood before and nice bowl take care my friend. just remember God loves u, God bless. chris
Thank you so much, Chris! I really appreciate it.
Take care,
Tanya 😊
I have a couple pieces of OO and they are not round and way out of balance and so hard and dry, they have been in the garage for a few years, just putting the face plate on I twisted off two screws. After turning on then for a bit and just beating myself up trying to turn them. I took them off and will probably leave them set until they make it to the burn pit.
That is the same as what I have. It is so hard it is just more of a headache than anything.
Take care,
Tanya 😊
What a beautiful bowl. I am not a wood turner myself but love watching your videos! I think you do amazing work. Thanks for sharing Tanya.🙃
Thank you so much, Dotty! I really appreciate it 😊
Surprising how deep you can run your tool, each pass!! Beautiful bowl! Great finish!! Glad you weren't injured with first try, flying apart!!
Thank you so much, Joe!
I was very lucky with the first one.....lol!
Take care and stay safe,
Tanya 😊
Very nice!
Thank you, Mikk!

Thanks for sharing Tanya. I like the embellishments along the outside. Nice touch!

Nice work l like it 👍 Carl does small at all. Does Steve Turing as well.❤
Thank you, Carl!
When we first bought a lathe, he did, but not so much anymore.
Take care,
Tanya 😊
That turned out really pretty Tanya, I've never turned Osage Orange before.
Thank you so much, Jane!
This was my second time.
Take care,
Tanya 😊
That is beautiful wood, Tanya. It's a pity we don't have it here in Australia. You did a nice turn on the bowl and I especially like the embellishment you did.
Thank you so much, Ron!
Take care and stay safe!
Tanya 😊
Nice! Curious how the texturing tool works…maybe you can show us a slow motion of that process with a future project sometime 😊
Thank you, Jeanette! I can definitely do a slow motion of the texturing.
Thank you for watching.
Take care,
Tanya 😊
Nice turn, Tanta.
Thank you, Louis!
Hi Tanya. Beautiful bowl, great textured bead detail. I have never turned this wood before, I will probably not after your review. Lol. You did do a fantastic job on it. It is beautiful. 😊 take care. 👋😊😊
Thank you so much, Rob!
Don't say never....lol!
Take care,
Tanya 😊
Awesome bowl! You are simply soothing and relaxing to watch. Osage color is beautiful. Be safe and be well. 😁
Thank you so much! I sure appreciate it.
Take care and stay safe 🙏
Tanya 😊
I love Osage orange. It's harder than stone sometimes. It's hard to find any usable pieces here in Logan County, though. It's too valuable as firewood since it burns as hot as coal.
It is very hard.
You are just a short road trip away.
Thank you for watching!
Take care,
Tanya 😊
Got any blanks for sale?
@Nik Burton let me see what I have available. I think I have some nice size pieces. Here is my email tsbecher745@gmail.com
Another great bowl Tanya! The first one could use a little work but the second is really nice. One thing I've noticed about osage orange is you get to practice sharpening your gouges quite a bit!
Take care, Dave
Thank you, Dave!
I agree with you about the first one....lol!
Yes, I definitely sharpened more than normal. I turned an orange osage bowl when I first started turning and remembered the reason why I haven't turned much of it is because I don't like it.
Take care,
Tanya 😊
Tanya I love turning osage orange bowls where can I get larger bowl blanks 8 inches and up to 12 inches. That was a beautiful bowl my friend I like the decorative ring it really brought out the color
Thank you so much, Tim! Get in contact with me on Facebook or by email. If you're interested in a chunk.
Take care,
Tanya 😊

Just curious as to why you didn’t show cutting off the tenon.
I do show it in some of my other videos. I do not show it in everyone.
Thank you,
Tanya 😊
We dont have Osage Orange here but would love to try it. Your videos are entertaining and informative
Thank you so much!
I know you can order bowl blanks from etsy, eBay, and many other places. They are at a fair price.
Thank you so much for watching.
Take care,
Tanya 😊
FYI Osage orange is hardest wood grown in USA. Nice bowl.
Thank you somuch, Jerry!
Take care,
Tanya 🤗
Wow! Would you be interested in doing a wood trade? Say, maybe, manzanita burl or black walnut or flame elder for some orange Osage? That bowl is absolutely beautiful!
Thank you!
I would be willing to do a trade. What size are you looking at? I definitely would be interested in the Manzanita Burl.
Just let me know what size and when you want to do it. tsbecher745@gmail.com
Take care,
Tanya
Great job as always! I'm gonna force myself to go back out to the lathe (it's cold out there in the garage lol) as were having a benefit for my cousin (April 1st) who was diagnosed with cancer and I'm going to finish turn a few bowls to donate to them to sell. Love seeing your videos while it's just too cold out there for me to go turn 💪👍 Thank you
The first person I saw turn Osage Orange on TH-cam was Braxton Wirthlin. He always said it looked like Mac n Cheese when he was done turning LOL. I miss that guy, RIP.
Thank you so much, Robert!
I am so sorry to hear about your cousin. I will send prayers to him and your entire family.
Thank you for watching 🤗

It is beautiful….love the colour……does it smell like orange?
Thank you so much, Hazel!
I wish it did. I love the smell of oranges 🍊

Thank you so much!

Hi Tanya! After looking at the first bowl I’m not sure if I want to turn any of that Osage I’ve been cutting and sealing! 🤔 Your second one turned out awesome as usual! 👍🏻 Love the texturing too! 👌Thank you for sharing and God bless!
Thank you so much, Bill!
Take care,
Tanya 😃
well done gal x
Thank you so much, Mark!
I’m kind of shocked you had a piece large enough to turn with few cracks. All the Osage Orange I’ve ever worked with had cracks and knots galore. I’m jealous
Hi Tanya! After looking at the first bowl I’m not sure if I like to turn any of that Osage I’ve been cutting and sealing! 🤔 Your second one turned out awesome as usual! 👍🏻 Thank you for sharing and God bless!
I am not to keen on the orange Osage wood. I do have more that I will turn but only if it is requested. I have a 90 year old woodturning buddy who loves it so, I am sure I will be taking him some more blanks soon.
Take care,
Tanya 😃
@@TanyaBecherWoodturning That’s what I’ve been cutting up so I can get it dry! May change my mind now! 🤩
You did a great job on this. OO is such a “cranky” wood, surprised you found a piece this large with so few. Y
The embellishments really made this extra special.
Thank you so much, Lee!
Take care,
Tanya 😊
Looks great. Osage orange is so stinking hard. I pays to sharpen often, even before you start thinking you need to sharpen.
What caused the first one to explode?
Thank you so much, Doug!
I spend the first hour sharpening and setting everything up to turn. Sharpening tools are very important if you turn.
The first one exploded due to cracks...lol!
Take care,
Tanya 😊
That’s a nice looking bowl.
I have yet to turn Osage Orange. It seems that most of the people in South Louisiana want darker color wood bowls. But that won’t stop me from turning it.
What was it about Osage Orange that you didn’t like, other then the first bowl coming apart?
Thank you so much! I like darker wood as well. I think my favorite is Maple.
I am really not sure why. I love the color of it.
Take care,
Tanya 😊
You talked about your fiend's bowl. I don't see a thing wrong with your 2nd attempt. I think it pretty! We call it Osage Orange, or Hedge, in MO. What did you not like about it? I have not turned it.
Thank you so much! I have heard it called Hedge as well. I think because every piece I have turned had cracks in it. I love the color, but not how hard it is.
Take care,
Tanya 😊
Nice looking bowl, always like to see a texturing tool used well, nice job. Shame about the first one, but could always redesign with resin? Depends how out of favour the wood is😀. Keep safe well and happy. Good to see your channel growing by the way.👍. C.
Thank you so much, Clive!
Take care,
Tanya 😊
Beautiful work 👏! Why don't you like osage orange? I've got a few pieces I haven't got the chance to turn yet. Congratulations on the subscribers! What do you have to do to enter for the giveaway? Take care and GOD BLESS 🙏!
Thank you so much, Stephen!
To honestly answer your question, it's one of those things you either do or don't. I like the color and how it finishes that is about all.
I will post a video when I reach 5,000 all you have to do is be a subscriber to my channel and comment on that video. I will keep everyone updated on when and what video.
Thank you for watching 🤗
Take care,
Tanya 😊
Nice bowl but we would like to see who turning the bowl just not a couple hands and someone talking. We need to connect with you as a wood turner. Your hands don’t tell the story you do that’s why we need to see you and understand who makes the bowls and you get more followers, when you show yourself and talk while you are turning. Right now it could be someone else turning while you talk. I’m a turner also be kind show yourself you will be surprise at how many more people will follow you. It never hurts to try and connect it’s your followers. Keep turning Bob
Thank you, Bob!
The way my lathe is set up, it is really hard to get myself in the camera frame while turning. I only have one lens to my camera, and my lathe is bolted to the floor, which gives me very few options for placement of my camera.
I am hoping to get a track above my lathe so I can position my camera in different places.
Bob way to be so negative to Tanya about her content of her video. If you would watch all her videos she does make several appearances throughout. So if you're a woodturner you should understand the work of the art is about the piece. Her hands speak for her quality and character. So it's ridiculous that you suggest someone else could be turning the piece. I think 3,200 subscribers in a year make an awesome achievement for Tanya. She does these videos to share her work not for notoriety. So maybe before you be a Karen try being nice, it's much easier.
@@TanyaBecherWoodturning Tanya one of your subscriber took a shot at me for being rude to you. It was not meant to be that way. It’s just I help other women wood turner and told them you must show who you are. These woman think me because after they stared to show themselves their subscriber double in a month. I was just hoping to help you get more subscribers. If it meant to hurt you in anyway I apologize for this. Thank you keep turning
@Bob cole
Bob, you didn't hurt me at all. I appreciate the tip in gaining subscribers.

Tanya
