Aside from Azula's VA, Wafellow has been my favorite guest. He naturally made good talking points and that's why I think the video is longer because he naturally had thinks to talk about the episode and Michaela herself.

Even though it's not shown, I love when Katara puts Momo on her head and says: "I can be spontaneous too. See?" Just shows that she can have her goofy moments as well.
Tuo cha means “birds nest tea”, and sheng pu-erh is also known as raw pu-erh, meaning it is uncooked, and is simply tea leaves that have been pressed and are in the process of aging. The fact that when Aang and Sokka put their intellect together and they somehow cancel each other out and become a group of idiots is how I think most men died over the history of mankind. That moment with Sokka and Toph on the cliff is what makes Avatar so great. Every other show would have had Katara overhear Toph badmouthing her and had Katara run away without the full context and the whole episode would have been about a stupid misunderstanding, but they just completely subvert that dumb cliché.
Also, the fact that Toph has her feet dangling over the edge when she’s speaking to Sokka. This is important because she always prefers being grounded so she can see and also because it’s how she can tell whether or not people are lying through her earthbending. I love the thought of her trusting Sokka enough to believe he’d be honest and genuine while they share such a personal moment.

DEFINITELY CONTINUE TEA TIME WITH TOPH AFTER THE SERIES! if you can’t directly react to the live action, it would be just as interesting to see a “review” of the first episode or so while drinking different teas!
I never thought about that, no wonder Toph has a wanted poster she has a bunch of aliases. Toph Beifong, The Blind Bandit, The Runaway, Melon Lord. It sounds like she’s wanted in 4 states.

7:10 it happens over the course of a year, evidence being aang saying to zuko near the end "I still can't believe a year ago I was still frozen in an iceberg"
One of the comics deals with Toph reconnecting with her father. He gets the chance to realize that despite not being the daughter he envisioned, she could still be his daughter. He ended up splitting from Toph's mom, which was part of the fall out of Toph leaving, and the repercussions in their family. One telling thing in that story - they don't reconnect until they randomly run in to each other. She hadn't sought to go back home, and probably wouldn't have for a longer time.
So we don't get to see Hawky again after this, but it is assumed that it found a new home at the Beifong Estate in Gaoling after completing the journey. And the Ozai statue in the middle of the city is definitely very cool! It continuously acts a fire fountain because the city was built above a deposit of natural gas! The city was originally named North Chung-Ling, but its residents renamed it to Fire Fountain City after the statue. According to The Shadow of Kyoshi, the first visitors to the city reported seeing visions, brought about by standing over the cracks in the earth for too long. It therefore became known as a spiritual location, allowing for the city to cash in on its reputation and set up fake spiritual encounters and cheap entertainment.
The continuously burning statue reminds me of the Darvaza crater in Turkmenistan. The Darvaza crater is said to have formed in about 1971 while Soviet geologists were exploring for oil and natural gas. They began drilling and quickly realized that they had penetrated an underground cavern. The Soviets chose to flare the crater to prevent emission of poisonous gases but underestimated the volume and it has burned for decades.
My input: however you choose to continue this when your rewatch of Avatar is over will be just fine with most of us, but it's just been fun for an avid Avatar fan like me getting to watch these videos almost daily and feel like I get to know YOU more. I'd at least be interested in your general reaction to the live-action show, even if it's not a breakdown of every episode. But I'll continue to watch your content regardless moving forward.
I still think this is so fun! Thanks for doing this Michaela. Seeing that you're a normal person and not a stereotypical Hollywood "snob" is great to see.
Good episode. I always like episodes that focus on Toph, and this is the only one in season 3 I think that fits that criteria. We get to see a new side of her and we see how her abrasiveness might me more of a defense mechanism. I also love hawky, for no other reason than he’s hawky.
honestly when people say their favorite episodes, they don’t mention this one enough! we learn so much about all the characters AND it’s also fun!

Now that would have been a cool skill set for Aang. Wish someone had thought of that.
I like how season 3 progresses with each character having a story more focused on them. Headband with aang, painted lady with Katara, sokka's master, the beach with zuko, and runaway with toph. Helps each character's arc come closer to closure.
Andrew was a fun guest! Every one has added a unique spin to the episodes they've been a part of.
I think you should do a Tea Time with Toph guest series, and treat it like the episode where Iroh and Toph had tea, bring on a guest and talk to them in character, try different teas, and maybe dive into the Avatar fandom. Read the comics, watch korra, play an avatar branded game. I think it would be a fun but relatively light hearted way to keep up in the fandom. Switch to whatever schedule is comfortable, If you think weekly or monthly uploads would suit your schedule better then go for that. I love watching your videos and hope you keep uploading things in the future.

There are 2 moments in this show that NEVER fail to leave me in tears, one is the obvious, uncle iroh singing, but two is sokka not being able to remember his mothers face and only seeing katara when he tries to 😢
Sokka 100% knew Katara was down there. He knows how she deals with being mad. That is also why he and Aang were so shocked when she said she wanted to pull a scam because that was not the plan.
This guest kind of looks like Andrew Garfield like from when he played Spider-Man 😂😂 I think you should bring them back!!!
Michaela's style is impressive. I wish I was even an iota as stylish. Always looks incredible. Even when having a bad hair day she still looks great.
This was a great episode I like how Katara made Toph think about her parents speaking of in the comics Toph runs into her father again and he was like you're no daughter of mine so yeah her parents do suck

This episode was so good! I love how you had someone so knowledgeable about the show appear this time. I do hav a question since you're not sure what to do after this is done; Will you do a react to the live action? A reaction to the legend of korra? A reaction to some of the specific novels? Of course it doesnt have to be every day but seeing and hearing your opinions about avatar related things is so refreshing and great :D
I mean anything where you're meeting people and talking to them in a laid back sort of way is a winner.

I would absolutely watch a monthly/ bi-monthly Tea time with Toph where you visit different places and drink tea. maybe with interesting people to?
not that you are not interesting enough in and of yourself, but a dialogue is better than a monologue I'd dare say. at least more interactive.
On the topic of wood bending: Trees are not made of earth. They're made of air. (mostly) Over 90% of the mass of a tree is carbon captured from the air during photosynthesis as it changes CO2 into O2. The Carbon becomes part of the plant. You've likely seen this, but most people don't notice it. If you plant a tree in a pot, the tree can grow 6 feet tall without the soil level dropping noticeably. You will need to fertilize because the plant does use minerals and other nutrients from the soil, but most of the mass of the tree is actually carbon from the Air. That means that if anyone could bend a tree, it would be an airbender, but that's going to be a REALLYT HARD sell. :D

I would LOVE seeing reactions to the live series. And one upside is that it's a relatively short number of episodes (though longer episodes), so it might not be as much of a commitment as this has been.
I mean, obviously, you do what you need to, but I think many of us appreciate the gift of your time and perspective.

I just started watching your videos, but I’ve been in love with Toph ever since her first appearance in The Swamp and her in Earth Rumble Six. She is just I feel the female version of me. I’m also blind so I have a natural attachment to her and in this episode in particular, I felt every blind joke or pun was so on point. Or in The Drill when they travel underground and Sokka’s like, “It’s so dark down here, I can’t see a thing.” Toph goes, “Oh no what a nightmare.” Literally story of my life. She was a perfect portrayal of a blind person and I love that you brought her to life!!!!!! And yes, please please please react to the Live Action Avatar!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, my parents are very similar to Toph’s, which is another reason why I relate to her character so much;
I come from a family that’s well off, not as rich as them, but my parents are more than comfortable financially put it that way. Growing up, my parents did a lot for me, to which I am very grateful, and I also have a disability, so it felt like they had to jump in all the time before I even got a chance to try and prove to them that I could do things, that I wasn’t useless.
Watching ATLA, I liked all the characters just fine, no one stood out as my favourite, until Toph came along. I relate to her so much it’s scary, here was this badass character that everyone loves, with a disability, who had an upbringing like mine and it was shown in this way where she was trapped in a micromanaged and lonely life.
Michaela, if you ever read this, thank you for voicing one of my favourite characters of all time. You must get this a lot from fans, but Toph really became a beacon of hope for me, she showed me that I am capable of so much.

I tried to count it out before he the answer was revealed and I came up with 11 as well.
I have two suggestions. I mentioned it on a previous video, but one suggestion was to invite all of the guests you've had for this show to a watch party for the first episode of the live-action show.
I also thought you could do an ongoing, flexible series where you do a "voice actor reacts" type of thing. Pick one-off animations and react to them while giving your thoughts as a voice actor/someone in the industry.
17:00 I'd say Aang got showcased more as not losing in the first season because the world was not as prepared to deal with an airbender. I mean, they were thought to be extinct for a hundred years. They weren't equipped to deal with something that just never posed a threat to them. As the knowledge of the Avatar returning got around, people started to learn and adapt to this "new" combat.

Metal is made from straight up dirt but trees actually get most of their material from carbon dioxide in the air so earthbenders can't bend wood but airbenders can
fresh wood was bent by hu and hama through waterbending but dried wood like the cell is impossible to bend

Hey long time lurker of the series i hadn't commented in any of the videos but have been watching the whole series. Some suggestions I would say on stuff you can do is conversation videos on stuff that you would like to see in Avatar, whether it be from Korra, or a future Earth Bender Avatar, or even any other shows your interested in. I think a What If Series would be dope too like a "What If Katara gave the Water to Zuko instead of Aang" question to talk about there. Even if you don't have any idea of what you should do next you can always ask us in the comments the people usually give good options for you. Also I could attest to what he said as well of you looking spectacular. Your doing a Good job.

Something that I have been enjoying, other than the avatar reactions, is the like life advice/talking about other things going on in life. So if Tea Time with Toph could continue as just simply a discussion about life while drinking tea, then that could be very fun as well.
Also, moving from a daily upload to something like a weekly, or monthly, or even less than that could probably work well as well, if TH-cam is something that you'd like to continue doing?

That letter Toph sent never got to her parents and just ended up right back at the town they bought the bird from. Messenger birds only ever fly back to the location they were raised, so unless they some how bought a bird that was raised in the Southern Water Tribe that message is never getting to Tophs parents.

I would absolutely love to see Tea Time with Toph continue! I love being introduced to so many different kinds of tea, they all sounds so good and unique! Avatar kickstarted my taste for tea a long time ago but these videos have been getting me more into having tea daily and wanting to try more different kinds.

16:00 As for Toph parents comics suggest it was more of case really bad understood love and care. I know because I had such parents who to a degree were controlling and very critical. Not a Toph's one still it cost me much. It was all because they kept worrying for me that at some point when I was mentally in some real shithole their worry obscured their reason and they would act out the way that was only a mean to regain their psychic comfort. When comforted my father only cared about how he feels about about my problems. Then I snapped and yelled at him. Luckily after one week of silence they understood they can loose me in the process
Yes, Michaela, I can relate to your relationship, I mean Toph's relationship, with her parents bit it is ingrained in my entire family back a few generations

I've mentioned it before in a previous comment, you could react to The Legend of Korra. Even if you don't do that or don't do anything with the live action Avatar, you should definitely continue doing Tea Time with Toph, whether its trying different teas or just something as simple as talking about life while drinking tea.
You can always circle back to the live action once you get the time to do it. You could try doing one episode a week instead of an episode everyday as well. That might also help.

This was a fun watch! Not only the fun episode but loved your interactions with Andrew. I honestly would love to see you react to at least one or two episodes of the live action. I also think it'd be cool if you could continue Tea Time with Toph and try different teas from around the world. Like I feel like you'd love a lot of the England teas.
