Nice one! Brings back some memories. I had a 1972 HQ Statesman DeVille. 00:49 The 2 holes in the lower right of the instrument panel are for: factory power antenna switch, and factory power tailgate window switch, in a station wagon. 1:43 the instrument panel has the fairly rare 3 gauge pod: fuel, oil pressure, engine coolant temperature. My HQ Statesman had the single fuel gauge pod, with oil and temperature gauges in the blanks above the cigerette lighter, and headlights switch. The broken piece in the distributor cap is called a Carbon Brush. It touches the metal part on top of the rotor arm, to complete the electrical connection between the coil, and the spark plugs. The cylinder firing order should be 1,5,3,6,2,4. Cylinder #1 is at the front of the engine, near the radiator.
Small wire not negative, It is 12 volt to pull the solonoid in. comes from ignition switch. You are putting power from red wire to solonoid when you push the new button. If that was earth you would burn all the wiring.
These are an Australian HQ Holden Statesman Custom. A long wheelbase luxury car for it's time. This one is the base model. You can see one on this video.... th-cam.com/video/DDmZyxA6biA/w-d-xo.html This one in the video had the optional 253 CID V8 and sports dash.
