I packed up the iconic arcade after watching your video I picked up the Raspberry Pi mini SD as well I plugged into the back of the machine and Boot up batocera and it worked very well
How is this iconic Arcade Cabinet? I can find like 0 reviews for it! For the price here in Canada it seemed like a pretty awesome cabinet but I'm having a hard time finding info on it!
I'm really happy with it since I figured out that they sell it with multiple operating systems on the boot up usb drive. I am currently running Recalbox on it. I did have to buy the roms from Amazon on a micro memory card and a usb adapter for it.
@@skidmark_stewplays4793 How do you find it compares to the Arcade1up cabs? You finding the screen to be pretty good and the controls to be pretty decent? Recal box is a good environment, Ive used it on a pi in the past and enjoyed it. This product intrigues me due to it basically being a shortcut into putting a pi in a cabinet enclosure
Thanks for this .. I tried switching from batcera to recalbox , but it’s having me configure the controller settings . I don’t have controller pads, just the original controllers on the iconic arcade. Most of them I can get through no problem but not sure what seems to be a problem where there’s not enough buttons for all the actions. How did you get this?
@@Bleepoh I have spare parts for my Arcade 1ups as I bought those privately and had to replace the joysticks and some buttons. I bought those from Amazon. I would assume that the parts are similar 8 way joysticks and micro switch buttons.
A few things, I use Batocera and manually download games to the Iconic Arcade. Before I restart and try the other front end, right now I find about a third of the games do not run for MAME, not sure why? Though I am not finished going through the library, but I suspect the results will be the same. As for other consoles. Nintendo all work. I can't get playstation to work either. Did you have similar results? The other issue which is not Batocera are some mame games are 4 directional joysticks and unplayable. The company must have know that this would be an issue. I wish they included a adapter to fit over the top of the joystick to turn it to 4 way. Pac man, donkey kong are usless on this system,
You need to understand how MAME roms are working, they are quit complex to manage. 1st thing you can try is, for every individual ROM, if you go to their option from the main menu by holding B, in settings you can try running the ROM using a different MAME emulator from the one's availalble, try them one after each other, i was able to make more ROMS working that way...
@@danboy3818 i tried that and in my case either it won't work or I get a blank screen. I also upgraded to Batocera 40 with the same results. I was wonder if they updated the mame bios files.
I used the usb boot thumb drive that was provided with the cabinet when I purchased it new. when the screen came up with the operating system I notice that you can move the controller to the right to select the OS. The roms I found on Amazon.
You shared a link for a card for use with the pi3 From my research the iconic arcade used a pi4 Is this the exact card you bought? I don’t want to buy if it won’t work

Can you use the Sinden light gun with the iconic arcade?
I'm not sure, I don't have one to try it out on the cabinet. Maybe that will be my next purchase.
