I've watched a number of these East Side Kids / Bowery Boys movies and I have to say that the story in this one really stands out as exceptionally enjoyable. Mr. Cortland and his daughter are both great and the way Muggs responds and gets protective of them is genuinely heartwarming.
You know the Bowery Boys were great East Side Kids and Mugs. McGinnisc When I was a kid I watched these movies growing up. And all the way up to now, another thing I watched these movies over and over again The Bowery Boys never get old. You know whats funny when you watch old movies with a family member when you're young they stick with you your whole life old movies to watch on your family member they're stuck with you for life
the 1940's Even though I wasn't around in the 40's I watched these movies in the 60's. Now it's a half century later and I'm still watching them. Thank goodness for You Tube and the people who post these great old films.
Sunshine Sammy Morrison, that was his stage name. Real first name Ernie/Earnest, but everyone called him by his stage name. He was great, looked very sharp in his suit in the Ghosts On The Loose episode when Glimpy’s sister gets married. The boys were cute doing their singing bit, as was Scruno and Glimpy’s little dance ditty. I sometimes get the titles mixed up, bc Bela Lugosi was in that one and Spooks Gone Wild, the two that involved a haunted house theme.
Another member missing is Donald Haines. He was the red headed guy with curly hair. He was killed in North Africa in 1943 during WW2. Like Sunshine Sammy he had also been in Roach's "Our Gang."
Joe Ambrose I’d say the one who actually belongs in the Little Rascals is Leo Gorcey, who is even less believable as a gang leader, but we all have our opinions lol

"Mugs, get a load of that flamingo"... so many finny lines. Thank you for that movie.
My favorite is leo GORCEY but love them all. Great actor's
One of the series best ..I was gettin' teary eyed there..
Awesome. thanks for all the great films
Fun, greatness, goodness.....fixes so much....🇬🇧💗💗💗💗
There's no place like home. True pioneers. I love this.
Leo Gorcey's real life father, Bernard arrives to deliver mail! Years later he would play Louie Dumbrowski in the Bowery Boys movies.
Again .thanks
I love Leo Gorcey! He might have been short but I think he was a little cutie!
Gorcey wa' 5" 3." I think Bobby Jordan was the real cutie pie in this crowd. His butt was amazing too!
He wasn't so cute off-camera
I loved them guys we seen all their shows
Another great 🎥😊
Makes me think of what Fr. Flanagan of Boys Town said, “There are no bad boys.”
"Lemme work him over, will ya, Lefty?"
That's mugs father @ 45:06. He's in a couple of other episodes.
What a swell movie!
I’ll say!
25:36 They said their own name!
52:40 Skinny looks like Willam Defoe. I wonder if they're related.
What happened to the black guy? Sorry, but I don't know his name. No offense to anyone. I sure did like that character.
He joined a band to tour with them. Then went in the military. He was offered the part when he got out but declined.

He ultimately wound up working at a missile factory in California and eschewing show business entirely

The black guy's name onscreen was Scruno! Yes, he's missing in this movie.
Good job boys
Whose idea was it to make Gabe Dell a heavy ? Not too believable
I think he did a good job. Besides, most of his adult career he played “heavies.”
@@Amelia_Larkin Yeah, but not after being in the gang for years. Put him in little rascals and have him beat up granny or snare Petey

@@Amelia_Larkin Leo was the heart and soul of all the gangs, I won't watch anything without Leo
Joe Ambrose I feel the same way about Gabe, dude. Have a lovely day.
Middle aged men playing young boys is ludicrous. Can't get past it.
Dede Sherwood - Not really middle aged men! Leo Gorcey was 27 years old in this movie, not really middle aged. Huntz Hall was 24!
13:36
Course his father was good in the shows two before he died he played the drugstore attend it ice cream parlor
Spellcheck cannot spell
