    I'm in my 60s now, but grew up watching these guys on Saturday afternoons....
    Loved them then & still do now....
    Bobby died much to young....

    I'm 49 and these are the movies we grew up with in the 70s. I still remember the lazy winter Sun mornings watching them with my dad or grandmother. nothing beats real black and white movies.

    nothing beats the movies of the 30 and 40s . they were entertaining and always had a story behind them. they didn't need zombies and special effects,I watch TCM and look at all these great flicks.keep them coming.

    Mugs is down a pint and still wins the match. Gotta love it. They all look so young bc they were. Not high school age of course but all young guys. These movies ran for a lot of years and everyone knew who they were and loved them. They made their mark and that's not easy to do in show business.

    The first film in the series to feature Huntz Hall in a comic supporting role! He and Leo Gorcey were real pals in real life and remained close until Leo's death in 1969!

    The black actor in this movie who played the character Scruno was former Our Ganger Ernie "Sunshine Sammy" Morrison. He appeared in the silent Our Gang comedies of the 1920's.

    When i was a kid, these movies were being broadcast off of very used, old film prints. It's almost shocking to see them so sharp.

    I grew up on these guys Satch,Horace debusie Jones,Muggs, Slip Mohoney,Loui Dembrowski from the sweet shop,Danny,Whitey,. don't mind the spelling of their names.They were called the east side kids, The bowerly boys,and other names.Those were the days..

    My favorite slip/muggs lines- I’ll regurgitate the facts , and I’ll re-irritate you with this , you’d have to be pretty smart to hack the language you were taught since birth- and deliver the lines flawlessly ,

      Leo and Huntz were a couple of goofballs! Bobby Jordan was the purest actor of the bunch. And sexy beyond belief! I would have loved to share a dressing room with that cutie pie! I would lock the door and attack! Yummy!

    That's the way we were brought up on the little rascals , then the east side kids. My brothers 4 ,all grew up just fine. You have to have common sense fighting with your fists not guns.

      True..but his name is Keye Luke. Funny how a motion picture could get his name wrong..... especially considering he was a founding member of the Screen Actors Guild.

    This is my first time seeing these movies. My grandmother didn't want any of to watch them, they are a bad influence in her opinion. She was born in 1895, and didn't like the way the movies were going.

    I really disgree with the scene writer always making Mugs treating Limpy like dog poop, also I really don't believe anybody in thsi world past or present acts and behaves the way Mugs and limpy does.

      That was Slip's real name, in the Bowery Boys series. Muggs' real name was "Ethelbert," in the East Side Kids films, and in one I can recall, some guy made the mistake of calling him that.

      Yep...cirrhosis of the liver at the tender age of 42. He turned to booze after Leo and Huntz shut him out of his starring role in the Bowery Boys. He quit the show, bitter and disillusioned. Never really worked much as an actor after that, except a few bit parts.
