I Used To Watch The Eastside Kids When I Was A Kid They Were Great Then And Great Now
My favorite part was when the cops made them come out from swimming under the docks. Damn! That Bobby Jordan sure had a nice tight little ass!!!
You just can't help but love Knobby when he absentmindedly gets friendly with the boys before snapping out of it. Almost as he was the inspiration of Schultz in "Hogan's Heroes".
When they made the hit movie Dead End and first brought 'the boys' from Brooklyn to Hollywood it was because the whole stable of hundreds of talented juvenile actors couldn't do what Leo Gorcey, Huntz Hall, etc. did as natural as breathing. Watch the timing, the intensity and the commitment Gorcey and the rest bring to their roles in these Poverty Row 'filler' movies. Grossly under-rated actors who could bring an intensity of
feeling to the most meager screenplays.

You can't fake a Brooklyn accent either you are from Brooklyn or you're not. Clara Bow was from Brooklyn, New York and could she act!

I think it was their energy and intensity which made the East Side Kids unique. The NY accent didn't "hoit " none either. When it came to sarcasm you couldn't do better than Leo's delivery. Adding Huntz Hall was genius. It all worked so well.
Having Bobby Jordan around in the first few years didn't hurt none either 👍
@@sgdgsc3236 Bobby was the one with the most experience in acting. He began at age four. Maybe that's why he burned out at such an early age, too. Showbiz is a tough gig for adults much less kids.

@@Tonithenightowl Yes I understand fully, after the war they weren't given him as many lead rolls as before it was all Hunts Hall and Leo Gorcey, that's when he moved on cause they won't paying him as much as before , and he had a child to raise etc.. Yeah it was sad it played out like that I personally think they should have kept him on by giving him more lead , but that's history now, I just appreciate the time he was with them and all the laughs and drama he shared with us 👍👍😁😁 P.S WITH OR WITHOUT BOBBY I THINK THE GANG DID A GREAT JOB I STILL ENJOY WATCHING THEM ,,,

In the movie, I noticed Collins gets in the car on the right side and slides over to the steering wheel. Now a days, people walk in the street, leave their car door wide open and proceed to slowly get in the car and grab the steering wheel. The design of cars haven't changed in over 40 years, and I for one prefer the sharp, angular designs of the 50's and 60's with long front and back seats.
I totally agree I tell my friends the same I think the 50s and 60s cars where much nicer in style and better built

Sammy Morrison is the only one not list amongst the cast in the opening credits.
There are four or five of the dead end kids buried in L.A..Leo,Jordan,Hall and sunshine,the only black,(no Offense) sunshine went into the army and when he came home the directors wanted to sign a contrac and he said no more and retire.He made a couple movies as an adult,(Ghost movie) Ghost on the lose was one of them..Alfalfa,is at the Holliwood cemetery.He was shot over 50 dollars and died.He played a few rolls with Roy Rogers and other film.he was trouble .he even was a bartender to make money..I enjoy them all.they were know as the dead end kids,,East side kids,and the Bowery boys.Alfalfa,was 31.His name was switzer
Hector Martinez Alfalfa Switzer was one of the Little Rascals not one of the dead end kids or the East Side Kids wasn't sure if that's what she meant

Interesting to see how often in these older films the idea of proving ones innocence is planted in the public psyche. In the USA....the law says.....innocent until proven guilty. PROVEN GUILTY ! Not the other way around as portrayed in this and many other films!
