I think a lot of reactors intentionally act dumb/miss obvious things to try make the audience feel smarter for knowing certain things and getting to point them out Easy way to manipulate followers
Its because most of the reactors have already seen the movie beforehand, harry potter is one of the most popular movie franchise if not the most popular in the history of cinema. You really think all the grown ass reactors giving "first time watching🤡" Reactions on youtube havent seen them already?
I don't think I've ever seen a non book reader ever pick up that Querrell (the villain) was in the stands behind Snape until the very end ... So impressed!
off topic but still on this movie. When i watched it i watched it with my family, and when dumbeldore explains why voldemort couldn't touch harry, "your mother left in you something more powerful than any magic... love!". My sister paused the movie, went to the tv, turned around to face us and said: "He killed the guy with the power of love!...... ok!" Did anyone else thought that?
There is the American version "Sorcerer Stone" and the Britich version "Philosopher's Stone". Thay made diffrent takes and everything for the two versions
It never ceases to piss me off that Harry slept in an actual closet for 11 years when they literally had an empty bedroom. Heck, in the book they actually had 2 empty bedrooms and yet they had a child sleep under the stairs
I was re-reading the books recently and... he was locked in his room in the second book, they installed a doggy door to feed him through and only let him out to use the bathroom. He was weak with hunger by the time the Weasley's went to get him. He was sharing meals with Hedwig (who'd been locked up in her cage all summer btw). He thought he'd die in that room. I mean I've always known they were more abusive in the books, but I legit think my brain just force-deleted this information because it's too grim to retain.
Moving stairs: they take you to the forbidden library. Average person: "it's like the bus, you wait for the next change to happen and move on." The Potter Trio: "wellp, guess we have no choice but to go into the library lol"
Fun fact about the Mirror of Erised: When Harry saw himself in the mirror he not only saw his parents but his whole family, since he grew up without knowing any of them. O. In Ron's case, he's got 6 more siblings him being the penultimate of them he constantly lives in the others shadows, so whenhe saw in the mirror, he only saw himself accomplishing the tittle of Headboy and also holding the quidditch cup, cuz he yearn to step out his siblings shadows
They explain it a little bit in the 2nd movie but Hagrid’s umbrella is a disguise for the broken pieces of his wand. Hagrid’s wand was snapped upon his expulsion from school and while he’s allowed to keep the pieces he’s not allowed to perform magic. This is touched upon in the 2nd movie but they left out details about it from the 1st such as in the books when Harry gets his wand Ollivander comments that Hagrid should not be using his wand pieces to do magic.
I am soo hyped that you started this series. The first movie does a lot of world building indeed, but in the later movies the story gets pretty complex (even if its still just half of the stuff that is in the books) and I have to say it just pulls you in. Some character arcs here are so amazingly written and very multi layered. Of course for those fans that watched this series since childhood there is a certain nostalgia aspect to it, which you might not have, but its still great. And Im so thankful that you left this much of the movie in. Please continue to cut out as little as possible. One little advise I can give you, is to watch out for the little details in this one. Its incredible how much there is to find out about the story and the world. And by the way much respect for you for figuring out the big plottwist in the first half
You don't automatically win if you catch the snitch. Catching the snitch ends the game and gives the team that caught it 150 points. But let's say team A has 200 points and team B has 20, if team B catches the snitch, they end the game and get 150, so they end up with 170 points and lose the game to team A.
@@kryss2056 The game doesn't end until someone catches the snitch. There were games that continued for days, weeks. It's pretty easy to get more than 150 points without catching it. Harry Potter, like Krum, is just a very talented seeker. I don't like Rowling, but that's not some sort of plot hole. It makes the game harder, because after the beginning of it when the teams don't have enough points, the seeker and the rest of the team will have to work together to figure out when is the best time to catch it. What I said literally happened at the quidditch World Cup, one team had more than 150 points, so when the other caught the snitch, they still won.
@@yesimthegoat0385 that's the hard part of it, if the other team is ahead of yours, they'll try to catch the snitch to end the game, so your team's seeker will have to try to delay them so your team can catch up. I don't remember much about the book because I read it a looong time ago (the quidditch book) but I do think it has to do with the points difference. Say if your team is going to lose anyways, you'll try to prevent a bigger point difference by catching it. I know that at Hogwarts it wasn't only about winning the game, the points made mattered by the end of the year, so if you lost a game you could still be a front runner for the quidditch cup. So, to answer in a simple way: it's not always about winning lol
I like that you pause and rewind when you feel you need to. Most reactors do everything in one continuous shot for the sake of full length syncing, but you can miss a lot when you don't allow yourself that breathing room and have to always say everything while it's still playing.
Yeah I always wondered why reactors never pause movies, esp when they want to give a long comment or missed the detail but don’t allow themselves to go back Can you explain what you meant by “full length syncing “? I don’t really understand how it works
@@scarlett.23a lot of reactors offer “full length” reactions on things like their patreon, which means it is literally every moment of their reaction without any cuts. Since they can’t just include the entire movie during that uncut reaction like they’re able to show clips on TH-cam (uploading the entire movie online like that would be illegal lol), they instead don’t show any footage on their end and require you to use your OWN version of the film to watch alongside them. Often reactors will do some sort of countdown before they hit play, so they’ll say 3, 2, 1, play, so you click the play button on your end the same moment they do in the video. Reactors that offer full length usually don’t pause/rewind because it would make all the viewers constantly get unsynced and have to redo it.
@@carlysheah9947 oooohhh I get it now, thanks! I’ve always thought that reactors just upload the whole movie on patreon, but it makes sense that it’s illegal lol
@@carlysheah9947 what’s funny is I’ve seen a lot of reactors that do just straight up post the entire episode or movie. Not sure how some get away with it and others don’t.

The first scene they EVER recorded was the “I’m not going home, not really.” The director talks about how he knew that the world he was stepping into was going to be not only magical but world changing.
Quidditch is actually more technical in the books and much more fun to _read,_ if you would believe it lol. I still have fond memories of them. Weirdly full of adrenaline.
Me and my boyfriend are re reading the series right now and this is very true. I forgot how much quidditch is in the first few books, they cut out like half the games in the books for the movies so I think that’s why it’s so much more fun in the books because we actually get to understand rather than just watch.

Philosopher's Stone is the more faithful title, because it is an item of mythology in our own world. For the movie, it was only changed in the US version because they didn't think the kids would get what a philosopher is. Sorcerer's Stone is basically the dumbed down title.
I wouldn't say "dumbed down" title, I would say outright incorrect title. The reason was always dumb anyway. It's not like the term "Philosopher's Stone" has stopped FMA and FMAB from being huge hits in the U.S.
It is true that Gryffindors, like any other house, can make mistakes and do messed up things. However, the same can be said for members of any other house. The important thing is how they learn from their mistakes and grow as people. Additionally, while Gryffindors may have a reputation for being cocky or overconfident, they also have a strong sense of loyalty and bravery that drives them to do great things. As for Hufflepuff, while its members are often seen as kind and hardworking, this doesn't mean that they are without flaws or negative aspects. Hufflepuffs can sometimes be too trusting or naive, and they may struggle with assertiveness or standing up for themselves. However, these weaknesses are balanced by their loyalty and dedication to their friends and family. Slytherin is often viewed as the "bad" house, but in reality, its members are just as capable of doing good as anyone else. Slytherins are often resourceful and ambitious, and they can be very dedicated to achieving their goals. However, this can sometimes lead them to make morally questionable decisions or pursue power at any cost. But as with any other house, there is a wide range of personalities and values within Slytherin, and it is unfair to generalize all Slytherins as being evil or bad. Ultimately, the Hogwarts houses are a way of exploring different personality types and values within the wizarding world. Each house has its own strengths and weaknesses, and when they work together, they can achieve great things.
@@Toast-th1ro oh crap. I forgot that it seems. As a well known channel stated and coined the term of: I’m a HuffleClaw. 😂. So I’m wondering why I forgot Ravenclaw ! Goodness. Thank you for pointing it out.
The fact Dumbledore could have added the points before the feast but instead he decided to announce Slytherin as the House Cup winners, fully covering the entire Great Hall in green Slytherin drip, and letting them all celebrate their achievement until being like, "Hold up, i almost forgot, Harry and his friends saved the school...I've got some last minute points to hand out. Oh? 10 points short? Hmmm, Neville, you tried to do something, didn't you? 10 points to Neville, for being Hogwarts most life like statue...I guess." What a 'Fck you' to the snitch Malfoy, Snape, and all the children of Slytherin hahahah
You guys are super perceptive - I don't think any other reactor I have seen - notice Harry's clothes in the beginning as being hand-me-downs and his taped glasses ... in the extended edition there is a part where Dudley is posing for pictures with his new Smeltings uniform and Harry's aunt is dying some of Dudley's old clothes to work as Harry's uniform for school and Harry makes the comment that Dudley's old clothes are going to look like he's wearing loose elephant skin. You had me grinning like a fool when you made the comment about Dudley and the cake. Then I burst out laughing when you saw Dudley scarfing down the cake lololol epic! There is wandless magic, as well as non-verbal magic but I think most wizards prefer to use wands. It is like, easier to focus your magic through your wand and I am sure the wand as well has an effect on your magic. I don't think I've seen a reactor who has so quickly figured out why Snape has that injury on his leg! Also the black haired guy sussing out Quirrell so early on is great! 'Maybe I'm thinking too much into it, putting an adult brain in a child movie' I mean...true, but also not either - the writing is so very masterful how it all unravels later on!!
Ron can't jump off because in the books they actually replace the pieces not jump on top of them like he did. That was done so they didnt need to show the queen hitting a child lol
If you watch behind the scenes you will find out that so much if it looks great bc it was done with minimal cg. For example, the candles were real candles on green strings
There are alot of spells in the world, for example the Notice Me Not spells or something like that where it makes the 9 and 3/4 platform not noticable to muggles. Something like that
yeah dan(harry) said in the reunion video that one of his favorite bits from filming the first movie was when all the candles in the great hall started burning through the strings and falling down.
Technically, Hagrid's not allowed to have a wand (you find out why in the second movie). That's why he carries the umbrella. ;) Re: Quidditch - no, you can catch the snitch and still lose. It' just that catching the snitch gives you 150 points, so you usually DO win with it. But if the other team is up by, say, 200 points already, getting 150 points to end the game doesn't help you. ;) The movie was called "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" in the UK, and "Sorcerer's Stone" in the US.
Wands in the wizarding world have their own unique properties and characteristics that are determined by the type of wood and core used to make them. For example, wands made from elder wood are said to have a powerful and protective magic, while wands made from willow wood are known for their adaptability and flexibility. The core of a wand is also an important factor in its properties. The most commonly used wand cores are phoenix feathers, dragon heartstrings, and unicorn hairs. Phoenix feather wands are said to be the rarest and most powerful, and they are known for their ability to perform magic that is particularly difficult or complex. Dragon heartstring wands are known for their power and flexibility, while unicorn hair wands are known for their loyalty and consistency. The properties and meanings of different woods and cores are deeply rooted in wizarding lore and tradition. By choosing the right combination of wood and core, a wizard can create a wand that is uniquely suited to their personality and magical abilities. This creates a deep connection between a wizard and their wand, as each wand has its own personality and characteristics that are intimately connected to its owner. Overall, the use of different woods and cores in wand-making helps to create a rich and immersive magical world in the Harry Potter series. By exploring these connections, we can gain a greater appreciation for the depth and complexity of the wizarding world and the way in which J.K. Rowling weaves together magic, tradition, and the vast mythological histories to create a truly unique and captivating story.
The use of different types of wood in wand-making is based on real-world Celtic/ Irish belief In their traditional mythologies; different types of trees were associated with different months of the year, and it was believed that the properties of the tree could influence a person's personality and destiny. For example, those born in May were associated with the hawthorn tree, which was said to represent love and protection. Those born in November were associated with the rowan tree, which was said to have protective properties against evil spirits. This tradition of associating trees with different personality traits and characteristics is reflected in the Harry Potter series through the use of different types of wood in wand-making. Each type of wood has its own unique properties and characteristics that are said to influence the personality and abilities of the wizard who uses it.
Fun fact: If a quidditch team seeker catches a snitch they don't auto win. The team gets 150 points and the game ends. Which means if it was 160 to 0 and the losing teams seeker gets the snitch the game ends 160 to 150 meaning the team who ended the game loses.
Even if you catch the snitch you can still lose the Quidditch game if the other team has even 10 more points than you. Ron's mother had knitted Harry a sweater for Christmas. Hagrid sent something (rock cakes I think) and of course his father's cloak. The Mirror of Erised inscription read backwards says: I show not your face but your heart's desire. Erised is desire spelled backwards. Harry never had a real family so he sees himself surrounded by them. Ron is one of 7 children. His baby sister is the youngest and only girl His 5 older brothers are all popular, smart and/or talented. Ron has always been overshadowed so he sees himself as the best of all of them. Old movie he says. 🙄 I was 13 when Jaws premiered in 1975.
While catching the Snitch is a crucial part of the game, it doesn't always guarantee victory. This is because the team that catches the Snitch is awarded 150 points, which is a significant amount, but it doesn't necessarily make up for the point differential between the two teams. For example, if one team is leading by more than 150 points, catching the Snitch won't be enough to win the game. Therefore, Quidditch is a game of strategy and teamwork. Captains must make decisions about when to focus on scoring goals versus when to try to catch the Snitch. Seekers must be skilled at catching the Snitch while also avoiding being knocked off their brooms by opposing players. And the rest of the team must work together to defend their own goals and prevent the other team from scoring. Overall, Quidditch is a fast-paced and exciting sport that requires a combination of skill, strategy, and teamwork. The Golden Snitch is just one part of the game, and catching it doesn't always mean you'll win.
Harry Potter along with Lord of the Rings and the books of Percy Jackson (movies are garbo unlike the other two series) are probably my favorite fantasy series I've read/watched so far.
17:04 You can do unfocused and uncontrolled magic without a wand (for instance when Harry blows up Aunt Marge) but to do really good spells, yes, you need a wand. A wizard or witch is only at their best when using their own wand. When using another's wand, one's spells are not as strong as they normally would be. Fun fact: in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince book they were being taught to do spells by saying them in their head and not out loud 30:40 The guy speaking is actually Ron’s big brother
Guys actually that food is not spawned there are corresponding tables down in the kitchen where elves work and prepare food which is teleported on the table for students
"I'd like a snake, but the fact that you can only have an owl, cat, or toad..." I believe it's just First-Years, as in the later Year books, some of the students have pets like rats, ferrets, and even magical ones like Kneazels (Cats with Human-level intelligence,) Puffskeins, and more. So you COULD bring a snake, but just probably not your First Year there.
Actually I prefer that they are thinking in doing a serie because Harry Potter is based on books and they have chapters, the way you read books usually the pace can go very slow and then really fast, while in a movie that is weird translated, just my opinion xD.
it was changed to Sorcerers for the US release of the first book, so when making the movie they ADR'd (changed afterwards using audio editing basically) in sorcerers but in the uk version and most international versions they say Philosopher's.
There were many schools like this especially in England. with a points system and everything. it encouraged and inspired teamwork and self reflection for anything you do may reflect badly on everyone else which inspires self reflection and awareness of others around you and how you impact the lives around you. ♥
1:18:04 here don't get confused, in magical world love is not just an emotion but a power that is so great and terrible and wonderful. In Dumbledore's own words "a force that is at once more wonderful and more terrible than death, than human intelligence, than the forces of nature."
I had never noticed : 11:55 "...either an owl, a cat or a toad" But Ron has a rat ! How rebellious, he broke a rule even BEFORE having arrived at school

the candles in the dining hall were held up with invisible thread which presented a problem, the flame of the candles tended to melt through the wires causing them to fall onto the childrens' heads still burning like little firebombs. fortunately no child was harmed & they went with CGI candles for the rest of the movies.

They had "fullscreen" movies (16:9, etc) since before the 50s. The problem was that TVs were not anything other than 4:3 until the late 90s at the earliest. It never ceases to piss me off that Harry slept in an actual closet for 11 years when they literally had an empty bedroom. Heck, in the book they actually had 2 empty bedrooms and yet they had a child sleep under the stairs
Well poor Dudders had to have somewhere to store all the gifts he didn't give a shit about after they were opened.
@@ronweber1402 And even then, he threw a massive fit when Harry got the room, screaming about how "[he] NEEDED it!"
The movies overlook their abuse so much. They were horrible in the books and it definitely references physical abuse as well
Well maybe the series that is supposed to be happening will have more in it and be more like the books than the movies are.
Average person: "it's like the bus, you wait for the next change to happen and move on."
The Potter Trio: "wellp, guess we have no choice but to go into the library lol"
You could be waiting forever because Hogwarts may want you to do to xyz.
Fun fact about the Mirror of Erised:
When Harry saw himself in the mirror he not only saw his parents but his whole family, since he grew up without knowing any of them.
Was looking for this one, i like how in the book Harry sees everyone in his family even those we'll never come to know
Certainly did not expect this one
A surprise to be sure but a welcome one
Yh fr I was so happy with the kfp and httyd movies and now they're reacting to another franchise in my top 5 possibly
So you expected it?

Neel is definitely a good movie watcher….pays attention to EVERYTHING I love it ❤
They explain it a little bit in the 2nd movie but Hagrid’s umbrella is a disguise for the broken pieces of his wand.
But let's say team A has 200 points and team B has 20, if team B catches the snitch, they end the game and get 150, so they end up with 170 points and lose the game to team A.
nah the whole Qudditch thing is really just poor writing by Rowling, since there just won’t be 150 points difference in most games
@@marirezende8478Okay but why would that team catch the snitch if they were down more than 150 points?
Which is dumb because the team losing by more than 150 would just not catch the snitch.
I like that you pause and rewind when you feel you need to. Most reactors do everything in one continuous shot for the sake of full length syncing, but you can miss a lot when you don't allow yourself that breathing room and have to always say everything while it's still playing.
Yeah I always wondered why reactors never pause movies, esp when they want to give a long comment or missed the detail but don’t allow themselves to go back
Can you explain what you meant by “full length syncing “?

One piece too where, why, noooooooo
The first scene they EVER recorded was the “I’m not going home, not really.” The director talks about how he knew that the world he was stepping into was going to be not only magical but world changing.
Quidditch is actually more technical in the books and much more fun to _read,_ if you would believe it lol. I still have fond memories of them. Weirdly full of adrenaline.
yeah the books got a lot more things right, like ron's entire character
Me and my boyfriend are re reading the series right now and this is very true. I forgot how much quidditch is in the first few books, they cut out like half the games in the books for the movies so I think that’s why it’s so much more fun in the books because we actually get to understand rather than just watch.
John Cleese the legend himself was the one who played the first ghost you seen, Sir Nicholas/Nearly Headless Nick.. this series of films had a huge portion of england's greatest acting talent from across the generations all in a single place... all becoming great friends.
I love how fast they caught on to the fact that Quirell was the villain.
Oh, and something for you to know, the four houses each represent a quality:
Gryffindor = courage
Ravenclaw = knowledge
Hufflepuff = loyalty
Slytherin = cunning
With that in mind, what do you guys think you'd fit into?^^
Bit more complicated than that but yeah it's rlly cool
They also represent the character's status in the books
Gryffindor = Main character
Ravenclaw = Extras
Hufflepuff = Side character
Slytherin = Villian
@@EmmaPlayzRoblox with exceptions obviously namely Peter Pettigrew, Quirinus Quirrel, Newton Scamander, Gilderoy Lockhart, Luna Lovegood, Filius Flitwick, Severus Snape, Horace slughorn, Andromeda Tonks, Leta Lestrange, Merlin, Certain DA members, etc
When I saw that you picked up on Quirrell I was MAD impressed and knowing the fandom - the top comment would likely be about that and I was right. Now I'm even MORE excited to watch the full series with you!!!
They've seen the movie before because they know a little too much if it was the first time.
Each house has its own strengths and weaknesses, and when they work together, they can achieve great things.
poor ravenclaw
@@Toast-th1ro oh crap. I forgot that it seems. As a well known channel stated and coined the term of: I’m a HuffleClaw. 😂. So I’m wondering why I forgot Ravenclaw ! Goodness. Thank you for pointing it out.
@@Makkaru112How would you describe Ravenclaw?
The fact Dumbledore could have added the points before the feast but instead he decided to announce Slytherin as the House Cup winners, fully covering the entire Great Hall in green Slytherin drip, and letting them all celebrate their achievement until being like, "Hold up, i almost forgot, Harry and his friends saved the school...I've got some last minute points to hand out. Oh? 10 points short? Hmmm, Neville, you tried to do something, didn't you? 10 points to Neville, for being Hogwarts most life like statue...I guess."
What a 'Fck you' to the snitch Malfoy, Snape, and all the children of Slytherin hahahah
YOUR GONNA LOVE THIS
(And how have you not watched any of this)
Ron can't jump off because in the books they actually replace the pieces not jump on top of them like he did.
You guys don’t seem like watching this for the first time 😂
You always kind of already know things 😂
They posted, that they need to reupload reedited version, where the sounds are not scuffed (some parts were almost mute).
so glad you are reacting to this . much more fun watching it with you guys now.
Oh the CGI jist gets better and better. The special effects later on are really something.
Fun fact:
If a quidditch team seeker catches a snitch they don't auto win. The team gets 150 points and the game ends. Which means if it was 160 to 0 and the losing teams seeker gets the snitch the game ends 160 to 150 meaning the team who ended the game loses.
All the theories you guys had youre gonna have so much fun with the rest of the series
Also keep in mind, Albus Dumbledore is a wizard of great power and he is very wise.He knows almost everything that happens in hogwarts

They are making a series of Percy Jackson. Rick Riordan is involved in this one. I believe it's going to be on Disney plus.
Fun fact: in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince book they were being taught to do spells by saying them in their head and not out loud

The women teacher that can turn into a cat is named Professor Minerva McGonagall... She is the Deputy Head-Mistress (2nd in command to Dumbledore), Head of Gryffidnor house and she teaches Transfigeration class. Minerva McGonagall is very strong witch who is amazing at Transfiguration, she's a stern, yet caring teacher that will help anyone, even students from other houses than her own (hufflepuff, ravenclas & slytherin). She is also a huge Quidditch fan, as you can tell by her adding Harry even though he;s so young and the fact she buys him his first broom before the match,.
the candles in the dining hall were held up with invisible thread which presented a problem, the flame of the candles tended to melt through the wires causing them to fall onto the childrens' heads still burning like little firebombs. fortunately no child was harmed & they went with CGI candles for the rest of the movies.
The actress for Hermione is Emma Watson and i can tell you more about the character in the second movie! She's the GOAT. ♥

They had "fullscreen" movies (16:9, etc) since before the 50s. The problem was that TVs were not anything other than 4:3 until the late 90s at the earliest.
