Listen I’m a fan of Honda but I’m not buying past 2012 cars start to get weird with to an electronics takes away the fun from driving
@@seb_1504 I had a 2020 Honda civic sport 6 speed and it just didn’t run we’ll slow acceleration and engine was loud af, I traded it in got a 2023 toyota Camry LE 8 speed automatic, more power 2.5Lengine love it more, got sport mode everything and paddle shift. With amazing mpg dealership filled it up for me from 25 miles to now 200 and still over half a tank

Well if you can turn around and sell it for 60 grand yourself then the dealer is giving you free money if they charge you 40. Plus it removes the incentive for resellers to come in and flip cars.
Supply and demand. Maybe Honda should make more type r’s this wouldn’t happen

Daily driving would wreak those huge rims. I would replace them with smaller rims and display the originals in a glass case lol.
In that case my prius is totally a race car!
As an owner of a blue FL5 myself I loved this review. His positivity was contagious. I consider myself lucky for getting mine for 5k over MSRP back in December.

It was awesome meeting Scotty and we appreciate him doing a video on our car😊. We actually faired better than alot of people paying the market adjustment value above MSRP. We ended up around $60k, because of the wheel and tire warranty, plus two additional accessory packages and the dealer option carbon fiber wing. 😉
That's a great color and you actually faired pretty well. My local dealer wanted $60,777, on a MSRP of $44,385 ('23 Model in Boost Blue). Most dealers in Nor Cal wanted $65k+. The '23 models have both the engine & transmissions built in Japan. Nice cargo mat too 🙂

Agree with Scotty. I picked up the in 22 SI, fun factor is 10/10. Thank God it's not fast, otherwise I'd be in trouble.
Same here but I picked up a 2023 SI couldn't resist this car has everything that I need especially the 6-speed manual transmission very silky smooth !!!!!..
22 si owner here, slap prl's high volume intake and downpipe on it and it makes it soo much quicker.
Scotty your excitement is contagious. These are amazing cars! I haven’t had the pleasure of driving the FL5 yet. I got lucky and purchased a ‘17 FK8 in 2020 with 1,100 kms for a steal at $10,000 less than MSRP from a local Honda. It now has 13,500 kms and it’s 6 years old.

@@Robert1337_ Lol right? I'm provided with a company truck for work as I run landscaping crews, so I inadvertently keep the mileage down on the car. I certainly won't be filling the R with all the equipment, lawnmowers, fuel, and 1000 lbs of debris.

I think Scotty should get one and then go on a tour of all the race tracks around America because the good thing about this. It's a race car that you can take all your luggage and camera man with too and it won't break down.

Own a 10th Gen Sport Hatch and with a few bolt ons it looks pretty sexy. It will never be a Type R but I paid half the price

I saw one for sticker price a while back with like 6 dudes camping out at the dealership. The car was sold the night before, and someone in a pick-up with an enclosed trailer took it home. From the showroom floor right into the trailer, not even a test drive. My guess is 5 years from now, that Type R with 4 miles on it, will definitely go for a 6 figure price. Most I've seen from a dealer was $82000. Fun Fact: 2023 Civic Type R was dyno tested at 327HP at the wheels. A good reason as to why Scotty was really thrilled while driving that Type R.
I got my 2024 Honda Civic Sport Sedan with 5 miles for 27k flat, out the door. Even got Honda's promotional interest rate: 4.9% for 60 months. Best car I've ever driven and with what I pay, best deal you can get.

I got my 2022 Civic Touring last October, it’s amazing, although it’s over 37K but for the highest trim level, turbo/gas engine (economy-normal & sport driving modes), leather seats (front ones heated), built-in GPS (for 5 years), 9-inches HD touch-screen, wireless charging / Apple Car Play & Android Auto, 12 Bose speakers, blind-spot info system, all Honda Safety Systems/Sensors (front & back bumpers + windshield + front radar sensor), power sunroof, LED headlights with Auto-High Beam at night, remote-garage opening buttons (under rear-view mirror), electric seat adjustments, pedestrians sensors (forward & backward), LKA, full adaptive cruise control with slow-follow / stop, 18-inch sports wheels …… and much more .. the new shape looks great and the performance is impressive with a 27+ mpg in city
I love honda..I love the blue paint on this. And the red and black..I don't really like new cars,theyre made too cheap.. but, this is one I'd consider at MSRP if I could afford it.. but,if I were going to spend $60k I'd buy a classic..

Well worth the price, just the LogR alone is worth a lot, the rims designed specifically for that car, the Ricarro seats designed specifically for it too. On top of that onlu 1600 will be in the US. Collection car easily, not to mention it’s the LAST GAS ONLY TYPE R that will be produced .

At 75 mp/h in 6th gear I get get 30 miles to the gallon. Absolutely love this car.
Crazy for a performance car . I imagine what the SI does with the 1.5 . My touring is doing 31.5 mpg in the city . Highway I'm sure it can easily achieve 40+
My 17 SI Coupe holding 70 on flat ground in 6th gear would get 50 MPG. Man I miss that car.
I drive 77-82 mph to work every day and get up to 39 mph on my si. Love it but wish i waited for the type r

Always been in love with the Type R. always have loved hondas, so I decided to work at a dealership and Ive never even seen one up close, I sold the first one we had and I took it out to get gas in it, and it was truly an amazing experience, ever since I was a kid I dreamt of the Type R and finally I not only got to see it but drive it, it was also in boost blue like this one. amazing car, truly.

Most new vehicles are broken in before being sold now a days.
@@shawnbernardi793 not this Type R. It doesn’t come broken in. I’ve got one and in the manual it says you need to drive it up to 600 - 1000 miles in order to break in.
I had an Acura CL Type S. First Acura with traction control, bought new. The engine was upgraded to identical to NSX. Had to trade for new decked, loaded Suburban after a month, before I killed myself and/or others! Could not resist!
The beauty of youtube, is that the microphone on your camera records your voice digitally, and then plays the sound back along with video at my end when I view it. This means you actually don't have to shout so loud that I can hear you from europe ;)

I'm waiting for the Honda Civic Hybrid to come to the U.S. It's delayed until 2024. The reviews in Europe have been amazing and it often beats the advertised MPG sticker.

This or a Mustang GT are two cars I would buy new. I don't think I would buy either one used because they get beaten senseless and may or not be properly maintained. I wouldn't have a problem buying most cars used if they were OK but I would make an exception with this one.
I would love having one of these but I'm not willing to go 20K over the already high sticker price.

I recently purchased a 23 civic. I went to the dealership for the SI but the 13k market adjustment made me get the sport instead. No regrets. Edmunds just named it best car of 2023
Love my 2024. I got a month ago CPO with 3k miles for MSRP. Haven’t had this much fun in a car since my 2005 twin-turbo Vette!

Context. He's basically comparing it to the GR Corolla, which has the tiny 3-banger turbo setup.
The engines in the F1 Hondas are 1.6 litre V6 turbos that have an estimated seven hundred plus horses. I use to think a 3.5 litre engine was tiny.
@@setdecinmotion6719 True Race Cars like those of F1 are not good points of comparison since they are made & used so differently than our street'able cars. For the streets, 3.5L engines were pretty much set as the standard size V6 thanks in huge part to Nissan and their VQ series engine.
One of my favorite things about Hondas has always been how they sound when they accelerate! Best engines on the planet!

I wanted this car so bad. Ended up buying a Subaru Crosstrek for the ground clearance and AWD but this car was an amazing test drive. IMO Honda, Mazda, and Subaru are making Toyotas feel old.
