I've had two tycoons since it entered the market and the new one I'm gonna buy. I've had it on and off road never got stuck and apart from servicing never spent a penny. both previous cars did 100. 000 miles and when I buy a new one I give my wife the old one and she loves it too, they just keep going and going, great cars.
I never see a review of the base models. It would be nice to see one. Not everyone can afford the $40k top model. It would be nice to see someone review the base
Okay Hyundai, here's my list for your 2017 Tucson: U Nd2 add some bright trim or chrome on Limited Models to break up the Spartan looking black interiors. Right now, they look low-end. To bring these up2 same level as the competition, bright door handle surrounds, console trim or door panel "accent lines" would be nice! Reprogram the 7 speed DCT for improved smoothness. Also, bring up overall MPG's or horsepower; both, even better! This vehicle has lots of potential. It's already quite good, but after studying this vehicle for awhile, these things are obvious!
Just got the 2016 Tucson it's great in so many ways but there is a problem with them. The double cluctch has and issue, if you are in heavy bumper to bumper traffic, inching a long and have to use the breaks a lot you get a warning tone and a message on the dash that your transmission is to hot. It basically tells you to pull over and let it cool down. How crazy is that, really??? I called the dealer right when it happened they read me an article about it but basically said try not to ride the breaks, leave space between you and the car in front of you so you don't have to stop so much. Wow, there is something wrong with a design like this. I'm going to contact corporate about this. There are a lot of complaints on line about this. I'm now thinking that I went wrong buying this car. Hyundai if you want to ever be number one you won't get that way if you continue to have problems with your cars. I've had two elantras and both had issues and recalls, now this one, what's next. I'm disappointed about this issue. Consumers be aware, ask the dealer about this issue if you are considering buying one. Its the only problem I've had so far, otherwise it's great but this is potentially a big and could be expensive issue.
Tim Gray I believe the problem is only with the Turbo version of the Tuscon that has the dual-clutch transmission. The 6-speed automatic Tuscons have no issues. Also the problem has been known and there's an update for that problem is think.
Excellent review & nice guy! My 2 issues with Tucson are the low mpg's and class trailing acceleration, even with turbo. They can do better with this setup & hopefully they'll make some tweaks soon.
Nice review but a Hyundai dealer giving a review on one of their cars is like having a Referee who is your Dad in charge of the game... he isn't going to blow his whistle at you! Bought a Tucson by the way, it arrives before Christmas :)

Drove one yesterday, purchased on the spot. Drives like a Tiguan without the electrical problems.

Really nice update on this car. I just wished it had a beefier 4 without the need for a turbo. I hate Turbo engines.
