I was interested in the Tucson limited edition. I thought it looked really nice, but when I started to do research on it, I saw that many people have been complaining about the dual clutch transmission. it looks like the dealers have been authorized to do a software upgrade but many owners are still complaining the transmissions aren't working right even after the upgrade.
Thanks for the review. I like the fact that you take these CUVs off-road, gives us a good idea of how they perform when taken off the beaten path. Seems like Hyundai is steadily making improvements to each of their products and having a more European feel in their driving character. I like that. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Jason Kidd
Nice looking car!
Hyundai moving up!
Funny, at 4:43 when he swiped the upper door ledge, mentioning the cheap feel of plastics, that WAS the upgraded/padded material on the "Limited". Funny, he didn't mention the lack of bright or chrome trim accents to break up the stark/entry level looking door panels or console? Amazing how nobody picks this up - seems very obvious 2me, especially when you look at other vehicles?
its Moonrock color right?
Great review but and this is a big but, remember your review vehicle is the top of the line unit which cost approximately 32 - $35,000. The rest of the line doesn't have this kind of quality and has hard plastics plus the seating looks very cheap.
Sam, you rated the vehicle at 4.5 out of 5 stars but didn't mention if you would buy it. If you don't feel you would buy it, I was wondering why and what would concern you about the Tucson. Also, as someone who loves cars and knows a lot, how do you feel this turbo engine and dual clutch transmission will hold up in the long run?
The "Id Buy It" list isn't always about score. It's more subjective and includes little things such as style or feel. A car has to press his buttons in various ways to get a buy. As to holding up, that is not yet known as they are new, but Hyundai does have the longest warranty in the business.
Sam, do you know the price of the panoramic roof? Can you get a normal sunroof?
+briefman49 It's part of a package that is $2,750. It does not appear a traditional sunroof is available.
1.6 liter Engine sounds tiny for such a big car !!
+Tomas Nordin I tought so too but keep in mind it delivers 195 pound-feet of torque between 1500-4500 RPM which gives you plenty of headroom (power).
no but if you test drive it, you will see what they are trying to do....faster but better MPG...
Sorry,. I was trying to focus on the car but the hot guy driving it kept distracting me. Glad it has good crash test scores!
2016 kia sportage is better than tucson.. l think..
+조봉균 certainly 👍
