Hey, can you review the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 16' next? There are very few reviews of that online but it seems very solid for the price and has no real downsides to it for a gaming laptop.
Great review! Just a few things; I think the touchpad with your unit is probably sticky or faulty since mine doesn't make any extra noises like yours and you only hear the click sound. As for the speaker distortion... Are you sure it's there and Dolby drivers are installed? I crank up mine to 100% and never notice any distortion. And finally, it'd be much better if you benchmarked these laptops in more intensive games like Cyberpunk 2077 as a game like Counter Strike would never utilise the hardware at its maximum, especially on the GPU. Overall I think this laptop kinda sucks. It's mid/high-end in the budget tier laptops at best. If I could, I'd have added some more money and gotten a ROG instead. The performance at 1080p resolution is the biggest advantage of TUF over higher end laptops like G14. A 4060/4070 at 1080p will last you WAY WAY longer than it will at 1600p resolution. So there's also that.
i literally just seen this after watching the unboxing vid, i was looking for a new laptop that actually has a graphics card because my laptop that runs on integrated graphics sucks even on low settings 😂
Got it for 620$ in india. I am happy then ever. First good spec computer after years of using low spec pc. And good for less money is awesome. I don't need to be careful looking at price. The budget price makes it more durable hahha kidding. But this laptop is good for budget and you dont need to be careful as we be with expensive.

that cause you bought the low end one i have the f17 does not do that every things is solid when you set up right its perfect speaker sound great bass ect
Am having one but its performance is ultra and graphics are great with games like fc24 and rdr2. I recommend. And mine isnt soft and too plastic like this 😂
Hey crimson i like watching media content like yt and do a bit of light gaming i searched a bit about which laptop to buy on my budget i got 3 options can u help me out? Option 1: asus vivobook s16 oled pros are: amazing value,3.2k oled, intel core ultra 9 ( u can buy the new ryzen variant in it but it costs alot) ,thin and very light, has thunder bolt, has rgb which i like, has all ports that i need, super fast ram, runs cool. Cons: no gpu which is alright because u can plug in a egpu with thunderbolt. Option 2 asus rog zephyrus g16 2023 pros: it has a 4060,and i7 but h series, rgb. Cons: meh screen, poor battery life, webcam is terrible, heavy. Option 3 asus vivobook s15 pro oled pros: ryzen 9 7940hs and rtx 4060 (65w tgp),2800/1650 oled. Cons: it runs hot which i really dont like,4060 tgp is ok. (It may seem im fanboying the vivobook s16 and im not biased lol)
My rating would be: 1. Zephyrus G16 Battery life is **okay**, but not as good as on a G14, could be better. It has either an OLED or a **very** good IPS display, so imo the display is actually really good. And the speakers were REALLY good (although alot of people just use headphones lol) And the G16 is actually one of the lightest 16 inch gaming laptops, so weight was never a problem for me. 2. S15 A friend of mine has the S15, and has had very little complaints so far. Great display, nice keyboard and trackpad, and pretty light. His only complaints were the slightly low TGP of the 4060, the speaker quality, and the fan noise. 3. S16 I personally wouldnt recommend a laptop without a dGPU, since you'd be limiting yourself a LOT with how many programs and games you can run well. External GPUs are an option, but janky drivers and the heavyness of the enclosures dont sit well with me.
I think u meant the g16 2024 lol i said 2023 variant not 2024 😂 anyways i think ill get the vivobook because its soooo light for a 16 inch laptop and thin like 1.5kg light and that oled would be nice for media consumption.
They're close in performance, but the Ryzen is slightly faster, and also uses a bit less power. I believe the 2024 models only come with Ryzen CPUs as well.
I have the rtx 4050 ryzen 5 7535hs model, i loved the performance, design and other stuff. But i would say the display could have been better. 144 hz with 25 ms latency is not really good for competetive games. If you are planning for buying external monitor then go for it
Not sure why you'd play competitive on a laptop in the first place. External keyboard and mouse and plugged into a separate display, sure, but just as is makes no sense.
@@mydogeatspuke Yeah you are right, if you play story or singleplayer games it is fine. But i want to say that if i connect second display, keyboard and other stuff then what about the laptop's portability?
@@Iluvebp I don't know what it is that you want me to say lmao. If you want a laptop with an amazing screen, you have to pay a lot of money, and the battery drain is really high so it can't be used for more than an hour without being plugged in when gaming. Which makes it not portable either. But then I don't know why you'd decide to take a laptop somewhere without access to a plug socket (but does have WiFi??) to play competitive games either. Just play them at home. Or where there's power. And so also screens and peripherals. A powerful laptop with a good screen and a battery to support it for portability (and I guess using your phone as a WiFi hotspot so you can play CS in a field???) would cost significantly more than this laptop. If that's what you want, buy that instead. Or, well, as anyone who actually plays competitively at a good level would tell you, get a desktop because laptops are bad for that no matter how much you spend.
It's okay, completely depends on what kind of games you play. It will play CS2 fine, but might have trouble with the newest titles, or anything with RTX. But in general, it's fine!
hi guys i want to buy this laptop but there a problem im living in Africa specially somali however there my cousin who lives in america so he coming to the country next month so i want to order this laptop but in amzon the laptop price is 599 so what i say to him/her to get this laptop any advice
That's probably the RTX 2050/3050 model, with a slightly weaker processor. It will definitely run games, but obviously not at the highest possible settings. I would say 600 is pretty worth it though. So if you're okay with the downsides I listed in the video, I'd get it!
Ok fine, the lenovo legion slim 5 14 might not be your speed. But the lenovo legion slim 7i might be one of the best premium gaming laptops ever. And you can get up to a 4070.
I been looking at a lot of info and apparently the hinges come loose often and it seems to be a common issue. Probably because of the crappy plastic. that might have been sorted with the 2024 model though I doubt it. Seems you would need to open it up and screw the screws back in at some point at least.
Hi! I'm using exactly the same machine about week. Got it about 1300$. All games runs smooth, I' m happy! 😀 Using extrernal monitor, kbd, mouse I dont care about these built in...
The little LEDs are constantly flickering and cant be turned off... The RGB keyboard is just a solid color and can be turned off. It's a review, I'm supposed to be judgemental 🙃
DLSS means Low quality graphics / Cheap to the eye Quality graphics period. your eyes can see it Obvious never use DLSS unless you dont care about good/ High graphics quality the reason why gamers play.
I agree that it always looks inferior to native quality. But sometimes the **slight** downgrade in quality brings so much more performance, that it makes it worth it. It differs heavily per game though, and some implementations of DLSS straight up make me nauseous 🙃
@@crimsontechyt GPUs unlike CPUs, Nivida made 86c is the throttling point for their GPUs. They start throttling when they reach 86c,so 80c is to much for GPU. The screen isn't even 2k or 4k to make GPU works hard. Even 4090 with 175w on 4k barely touch 80c. So yes cooling is really bad in this laptop.
@@Smart_boy2001 That's not true. An RTX 4070 laptop chip doesn't throttle until 90 degrees, as I've tested in my Flow X13 + G14 reviews. Laptop GPUs are designed to run at higher temperatures. Like I said, this laptop's GPU stayed **under** 80 degrees, so it's perfectly fine. A laptop 4090 might run at 80, but that's in an entirely different chassis, with a different cooling system. The Zephyrus G14 with 4090 can even reach hotspots of 87 degrees under heavy load without throttling, and owners of that model haven't had any issues so far (except for a general warm chassis under heavy load)

Oof i've been there! Going from integrated graphics to a gaming laptop is an AMAZING feeling :D

Do they all come with 16GB ram and are they upgradable if they don’t come with 32GB ram ??
It differs per region, but all the models here only go up to 16gb.
But yes, they ARE upgradeable up to 32gb ram :)
@@crimsontechyt thank you for that becoz in my region it said it came with 32GB and it confused me a little 👍🏻
@@crimsontechyt By 32gb, do you mean 16gb for 2 memory slots or each 32gb?
Both slots are filled so it had dual channel memory. That does mean you'll have to buy a 32gb stick or two 16gb sticks to replace them with though
@@crimsontechyt Might be dumb question to ask. If so, can i buy 2 32 gb stick so it goes to 64gb?
Got it for 620$ in india. I am happy then ever. First good spec computer after years of using low spec pc. And good for less money is awesome. I don't need to be careful looking at price. The budget price makes it more durable hahha kidding. But this laptop is good for budget and you dont need to be careful as we be with expensive.
Wow fr 620$ ??. Where did you get it? Online or offline store

I bought it for 62k withba mouse and bag free and windows 11 subscription free and am from tamil nadu it's 3050 rtx n 16gb how much is ur rtx where u bought it
Would it be good playing wow retail on this?
Yes, as long as it's these specs
Bro i need it for long term use ..i only looking for minecraft game with this laptop and multi tasking ,coding extr so is this will worth buying
It can absolutely handle the stuff you need it for. Its build quality is a bit meh though, which you should consider when buying something for long term use...
@@crimsontechyt bit meh means i didjnt get
@peace9001. I dont know if the build quality is good enough to use for a long term 🥲
what kind of ram i need for this laptop? i want upgrade to 32 gb ddr5
that cause you bought the low end one i have the f17 does not do that every things is solid when you set up right its perfect speaker sound great bass ect
Am having one but its performance is ultra and graphics are great with games like fc24 and rdr2. I recommend. And mine isnt soft and too plastic like this 😂
I don't really care about all those things I could just use to play my games
What do you think bro Asus Tuf a15 Ryzen 7 7435 or F15 i5 11th Gen
That A15 is better
This laptop seems put all its price on performance quality and didn't bother on the build quality
Exactlyy
Can I ask how are you monitoring the cpu temps with I can’t get mine to work with anything other than armoury crate
Is it good for school work too?like python?
Yes, it's definitely fast enough for programming
Wait im confused, I have the tuf a15 2023 and the lid is made out of metal
I couldn’t find this model with ryzen 9, only TUF A15 with ryzen 7 🫤
Just bought 1 and boy. I forgot to try the trackpad
I am gonna buy one but lucky for me I just use a wireless mouse.
Yeah, buying a mouse later. Just an hour of used and the track already has a stain on it
Bro i have it does this laptop has dynamic refresh rate? I am not getting option in display settings
No, it has a fixed refresh rate
@@crimsontechyt thanks i was worried 🙂
My rating would be:
1. Zephyrus G16
Battery life is **okay**, but not as good as on a G14, could be better.
It has either an OLED or a **very** good IPS display, so imo the display is actually really good. And the speakers were REALLY good (although alot of people just use headphones lol)
And the G16 is actually one of the lightest 16 inch gaming laptops, so weight was never a problem for me.
2. S15
A friend of mine has the S15, and has had very little complaints so far. Great display, nice keyboard and trackpad, and pretty light.
His only complaints were the slightly low TGP of the 4060, the speaker quality, and the fan noise.
3. S16
I personally wouldnt recommend a laptop without a dGPU, since you'd be limiting yourself a LOT with how many programs and games you can run well.
Is there fingerprint scanner?
No, not on this model
is the variant with ryzen better than intel?
They're close in performance, but the Ryzen is slightly faster, and also uses a bit less power. I believe the 2024 models only come with Ryzen CPUs as well.
@@crimsontechyt aha i see, thanks for the info
Can it handle Baldurs Gate 3?
Absolutely :D
Is it Worth for Editing?
Yes! It's great for editing :)
Like , AND RYZEN 7 ,7535 HS WITH NVIDIA RTX3050? For Poductivity?
Can this runs Warzone smoothly?
Yes, it absolutely can
damn, that sound!
is amd ryzen 7 7435hs with rtx 2050 good?
The 2050 is a pretty weak GPU for gaming, but it can handle most games. It depends on which ones you want to play :)
Bang kalo rakit pc itu part nya udh lengkap trus harus beli baut juga apa udh di sediakan di part yang kita beli

It will play CS2 fine, but might have trouble with the newest titles, or anything with RTX.

im living in Africa specially somali however there my cousin who lives in america so he coming to the country next month so i want to order this laptop but in amzon the laptop price is 599 so what i say to him/her to get this laptop any advice
That's probably the RTX 2050/3050 model, with a slightly weaker processor.
It will definitely run games, but obviously not at the highest possible settings.
I would say 600 is pretty worth it though. So if you're okay with the downsides I listed in the video, I'd get it!
wait i got the same laptop and it does not have that crakking sound
HOW MUCH FPS IN FORTNITE 😭
Ok fine, the lenovo legion slim 5 14 might not be your speed. But the lenovo legion slim 7i might be one of the best premium gaming laptops ever. And you can get up to a 4070.

@@crimsontechyt ok
yes i think it's good laptop
Hi I'm gonna buy this laptop but can I ask is the 512gb enough for sims 4 and call of duty?
Yes, should be enough :)
Last time I checked, COD was like max 200gb, so its good.
I been looking at a lot of info and apparently the hinges come loose often and it seems to be a common issue.
Probably because of the crappy plastic.
that might have been sorted with the 2024 model though I doubt it.
Seems you would need to open it up and screw the screws back in at some point at least.

Display should be 1440p😢
Yepp, but they had to cut costs somewhere 🥲
You'd also get lower performance. You wouldn't miss out a lot.
There is a version with a better display, 1440p 165hz and 300 Nits, model number FA507UI-HQ079 . Available with 4070 only.

Music name please!
Asua tuf a14 review when ?😅

Sorry but 80c is too much for GPU.
Not really, most laptop GPUs are designed to run up to 90 degrees, so 80 is fine.
But this one stays *under* 80, so it's perfectly fine
@@crimsontechyt 90c bro you literally cooking ur GPU 🗿. As I said before Nivida made 86c as a throttle limit. You won't believe me, Just make a search or ask someone with a good knowledge in laptops and they will give you the right answer.
@@crimsontechyt I mean 86°C is the actual thermal throttle limit Nvidia has set for the 4000 series on laptops 😅... it is true. And Asus Tuf has never been the greatest when it comes to thermals. They sacrifice thermals to make it around 200-400 grams lighter than other budget gaming laptops like the Loq and Nitro.
