    I've also had this laptop for 6 months and I can confirm everything you say. It truly allows you to do everything from work to gaming. What surprised me the most is truly the efficiency of the processor, which guarantees good battery life with respectable performance. The best laptop I've ever had.

    Ive got the 2021 G14... Ive kept it in a box for nearly 3 years and only just recently deployed it for daily use... Man those speakers are nice... Most of the time Ive got the cpu tweaked down so temps never get above the 40s cause i dont need power 85% of the time but this is by far the nicest laptop ive ever had... When bought it was top of the line but now its only midrange performance at end of 2024 but so happy with it... Im use to cheapy 300 or 400 laptops but im glad to have paid the bucko bucks... Its like a Cadillac

    Watching your vids of the zephyrus has made it a very easy choice for this laptop (g16, want the slightly larger display), even more so that you have a very similar workload that I'll have once I get to university. Can't wait for my first step into the gaming pc/laptop world!

However, I use a docking station for my other two monitors and I have been having the most RANDOM issues with that. Thanks to your video, I realize I have been plugging into the WRONG PORT 🤦‍♂️ cheers and thank you for making this video

My only issue is that the face id thing bugs out at times when trying to log in and the display stays black. Idk why, maybe a driver issue. Restarting it fixes the issue

      Oh, and for a tip for lowering temperatures ( I have the same laptop but in white), I would disable CPU boost on all profiles, unless you need more than 4ghz, you won't need it. From my testing, going above 4ghz (which is the max the CPU will go with CPU Boost disabled) mainly increases temperatures by A LOT

    You've literally helped me get more value out of my G14 using Dolby Atmos hahaha, I just did it on the spot. I don't know why I haven't yet, but now subscribed :)! Then I finished the video and realized you did an even better job covering useful information! I had to find out myself and HOPE I was right in regards to the left USB-C(iGPU) and right USB-C(dGPU), which took a bit of extra work...but is really appreciated, given no other video I have come across has even mentioned this bit. I have literally been binge watching everything on the G14 and new A14 up until I purchased the G14 a few months ago and still do. • @PlazDreamweaver
      @PlazDreamweaver 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@linforddias1668 I have a laptop with essentially the same specs. I have 32gb of RAM and a 4070. It can render 3D scenes and objects smoothly on just battery, even through Blender's cycles. If you're going to get the G14, make sure you get 32gb RAM. If you're in the US, Best Buy has it in 32gb. Any work in Unreal Engine, and rendering highly complex scenes with cycles in Blender will require you to plug it in.
      Unfortunately, my laptop's motherboard is faulty and it's out of warranty, so I'm going to buy the G14 when Black Friday sales hit. If you haven't purchased it yet, I suggest waiting until then.

    • @crimsontechyt

      It should NOT reach those temps during normal lightweight tasks like web searching, only during *very* heavy combined workloads like multicore processing, or heavy (newer) games.

      @mobeen369 Yes, I wouldn't advise it.
      If the air intake or exhaust get blocked, it'll get very hot while doing intensive workloads.
      The laptop will downclock its CPU to keep it safe, but it really isn't good to keep it hot for that long, as it could damage it overtime (as it would on any other laptop).
      With light use like web browsing though, the fans are hardly (if at all) running, so that shouldn't be a problem. I've used it to listen to music or watch Yt on my bed many times

    New subscriber here, I dig your videos! I also own a 2024 G14. You mention the Left USB-C (same side as HDMI port) not being connected to the dGPU, however, I have a USB4 hub connected to it and have 2 monitors connected to that hub, one of them being a 1440p 144hz monitor that I game on. When I play I am definitely getting dGPU performance, and Armory Crate says the dGPU is being utilized almost 100%. Are you sure about the ports? Why would my dGPU show up as being utilized? I doubt I'm getting 80fps+ in CoD @ 1440p using the iGPU lol

      @crimsontechyt  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Thank you! :D
      The way I said it may have been a bit confusing xd
      You can still use the dGPU through the left USB-C port, it will just be routed through the chipset. Performance will still be good, but slightly less, and with more latency than if it were connected directly to the dGPU.
      The same applies for the internal screen, where the dGPU is routed through the chipset (iGPU) by default, but CAN be set to dGPU mode only, where it will have slightly less latency and a bit more performance

    ty for this review! i have a sick desktop setup, but i travel once a month and want something to play with and browse the webz. I'm not sure if i should get the 14 or 16 version though. Would you recommend getting the 16 inch version for people who like bigger screens? Also I read that i need to get atleast a 4070 or 4080 for the better fan setup. Also what resolution are you playing cs2 on to get 120fps?

    • @crimsontechyt
      @crimsontechyt  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Same situation here :D
      If you like bigger screens, definitely get the G16. I like the G14 since it's a more compact package, but it's undeniable how much easier on the eyes a bigger screen like the G16 is.
      CS2 can easily get 120 fps at native resolution if you turn the settings down a bit (mainly shaders and stuff), but at 1080p, it can do that with the highest settings.
      The G16 4080 is a hell of a lot faster GPU-wise compared to the 4070, but it does get a bit toastier (nothing to worry about though).
