After having a year away from W11 due to so many issues, i decided to give it a try on a new (to me) laptop. Windows 11 is basically a rootkit full of microsoft spyware. I let my guard down for just a couple of weeks. It had updated my BIOS adding options on for OS BIOS control, made it near impossible to boot from other drives and deleted my MBR on my Linux drive. Its gone now, never again.

After watching your reviews of the last year 2024 TUF A14 and the HP Transcend 14, I was hoping the G14 2025 would have a similar redesign to have the ports at the back and also that extended rear that elevates the screen and improves cooling airflow at the back. So, I am still not totally sold on the G14 yet. In my country the HP Transcend tends to be the cheapest of the 14" models (usually by 500€ less than the G14) and also most frequently on sales, if price differences remain, the Transcend 14 might be my pick this year if they improve the speakers and the power limitations of the last year model. Hope so. It looks gorgeous as well. Or maybe I'll go with TUF A14 but I think it's time to finally own a OLED display at this price range. And yes, 120Hz is already past it. I definitely can tell the difference from my 144Hz Victus 16". Increasing to 165Hz or 180Hz would be perfection.

From what I've heard, the G14 / G16 speakers are equivalent to Macbook speakers.

After watching this, I'm not regretting choosing Stealth 14. I hope that by the time I'm done with this laptop, Asus will also focus on upgradability, particularly on RAM. My work is as much related to GPU and CPU as it is to RAM. Good job with the comparison!

1:21 The depth of MSI is much greater than G14 although they have the same screen size. The depth and width of a laptop are also important, especially to fit into a backpack, although people only consider the thickness. 9:05 The same Intel processor is used in some G16 models which have great battery life, close to the AMD Ryzen AI version. So I wouldn't say the processor is inefficient; there must be something weird with this laptop which increases the idle power consumption significantly. This should be correlated with the fans being louder when idle.

Stealth 14 seems a bit off to me, yes more upgradable (and a hungry i7) but the random idle speed increase seems a bit off to me, since theres thermal throttle i winder what more the fans can do once it gets dirty lol

5:37 have something to say here In the website Asus claims that the new XG Mobile is compatible with ALL models that support at least usb4/tb4 so your old Flow X13 2023 should still be ok, just not 120gbps

honestly i wouldnt consider stealth ai studio as midrange since msi released it just to compete with zephyrus directly and also some game performance might be affected by cpu and ram, like helldivers and rust that intel ultra 100series cpu is a disaster

You forgot to mention that the G14 is the first and only OLED laptop with VRR (G-Sync) at the moment.

Many MSI hinges tend to be mechanical while ASUS mostly uses, well, glued together plastic. Dunno if that's the case here too in those models, but that MIGHT explain the extra wobble sadly.

The best would be a third MSI laptop which had the best of these two. Oh well, 2025 laptops are around the corner. The Amazon links show me different models so I can't really see the prices for these two. I don't remember the last time I clicked on any Amazon links which showed me the actual products I was looking for. Here in Greece (not Amazon) I can find the Stealth Ultra 7-155H, 32GB, 1TB, RTX 4060, at 2000 euros, at best. Usually higher, with 4070 models at 3700+ and the 4080 model at 5300. I am laughing and laughing. The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 start a couple of 100 more and reach similar heights. Not that I have money, but I wouldn't buy either of them for these prices. PS. One suggestion for the video. I know this is a little pet peeve of mine, but how you showed in the whole video the Stealth on the left and the ROG on the right, but when you were holding them both at the same time at the beginning and ending of the video, the other way...that annoys me lol. Thanks for a fun video. :)
