Since they couldn’t use Whitney’s music, at least they picked a powerhouse artist like Deborah Cox to dub her vocals. Not only did she collab with Whitney on “Same Script, Different Cast” (I sure wish they did a video for that), she plays Whitney’s character in the Bodyguard musical.
Wonderful, articulate interview...and she carries herself with real self-actualized class.. so I see similarities in she the incomparable Whitney.. rather than making this something competitive; I'd like to see Sisters in an ever expanding class..hoping there is room enough for all and we can celebrate them all..unity and solidarity supporting Black folks in art..and all positive endeavors.. Peace..not Pieces.
Whitney had a presence to engage listeners and she did have the look and the smile. But you had a crystal clear voice in her best days, however I've always said for me the singer that closely compared to Whitney was Deborah Cox I've said it when you first launched her album years ago
I was always looking for that next Whitney, first it was Mariah vision of love, then it was Monica. You hear Whitney in all these lady, but Debbie got her down pack with her flavir. I can totally here Whitney telling her to take a break to raise her kids..... Miss Whitney, thank you Debbie taking care of your voice.
Wow she is an amazing singer, still to this day. And omigosh, I was thinking 'You Give Good Love' as soon as she said Whitney :) I will follow her on twitter...
I met her at the splash one time when she was performed there. I like her album...I look at the meaning and make me confuse ... which way is which way now..?
Good lively banter but not really giving anyone thats new to Debra Coxs' music and voice, (and with Whitney shown on UK TV for first time there'll be a few I suspect), any insight as to who Debra Cox really is and how come she got to sing as Whitney. I know this interview was short and speedy but for any possible new fans it was all over way too fast. I'll search out more first before saying anything for or against Ms Cox as she's already got me interested with her amazing, strike that, incredible voice. I hope she promotes herself here in the UK, (if I've missed her Im sorry), as I'd like to hear the new album she's mentioned.
Yeah she got it so much that she released this womans song on an album because she thinks she is/was the better singer and people like yourself feed her ego this BS.
She sings so much like Whitney, so AMAZING, and AWESOME!!! GO Girl!!

She looks flawless!!! She's kept her beauty and gift. Loved her from the first album.
Y e s!!!
This is why I luv Deborah Cox. Most "artists" act like they can't sing on-spot.
she really has a great voice. and is beautiful to top it off.

she really does sound like her - even with this little snippits lol
I adore her! She is ma gurl and I find her so compellingly beautiful. I want her to do a big hit. She deserves it like no other.....
Great Interview!!!
Class+Style+Talent+Funny+Intelligent+ Beauty = Deborah Cox

Yes indeed.

I have danced my ass off to your hits. Your club music is always 1
cute interview. her hair (a full weave with a closure) is flawless. Why can't Tamar get it right like this???
Tamar wears wigs.
Tamar needs to wear better ones, lol.
THAT HAIR LOOKS GREAT ..
TAKE NOTE PEOPLE
y'all are the reason she shaved her head bald this year. WHATEVER, she looks gorgeous and better now anyway so thanks I guess lol
great, fun interview! both ladies oozed with personality. looking forward to deborah's new album.

Wow she still looking good I am so proud of her and I wish her the best!
that was an AWESOME interview!! LOVE!!
I thought this was Jada Pinkett for a second.
I was thinking she favors Jada Pinkett as well.
she did an "awesome job singing Whitney's songs in the movie....
Yes she did!!!
"It's about doing the circuit parties at 2, 3, 4 o'clock in the morning." Yes. Werk.
It looks like a front lace wig but Deborah Cox is hair is always on point
could be lace front or wig
Gabriel Serra I just noticed that she do favor Jada
What is the name of this gospel song from the beginning of the movie?
The name of the gospel song in the movie, that she sung in the beginning, is called Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah. It's an old spiritual hymn

The host eye shadow not being blended bothers me.
