It's really a myth tho, it floats when it gets drier but is still fine as long as it doesn't stink. So if you have eggs you're uncertain about just crack them separately, they'll stink like crazy if actually bad. (They can stay pretty much forever if kept cold enough ime.)

Partly to help Americans, but mostly to compete with the Russians during the Cold War and space race. As more people started attending, the colleges started adding fees to make up for having more people than they've ever provided for. This guy you might have heard of, Ronald Reagan, saw the tax money going into colleges as welfare and said "Nope, just charge the students like you're already doing." So now we have for-profit schools opening up, and all of the people opening up businesses are college grads. So now almost any job requires a degree. This leads to everyone born from the end of Gen X being expected to go into debt just to get a job that's not fast food, and even if you declare bankruptcy, school debt is exempt, so the only ways to get out of it is to pay, or die.

In the USA we wash the outer coating off of them so they HAVE to be refrigerated since the shells become more permeable to bacteria after that meaning the cold temp to slow the process is needed, but in other countries where that process isnt done they can last just as long while not refrigerated since they have that natural coating still. So i would imagine a non-american egg that was also refrigerated would be able to last many weeks longer than any other combination

Retired chef here. Many years ago, I worked on a ship where we took on provisions in Cape Town, South Africa. I was new to this ship, so, I assumed that like other places, they would rotate their incoming provisions to the back, so the oldest food gets used first. (First In, First Out) I put the several cases of old eggs to the front, and put the newer eggs to the back. The next morning, I was preparing breakfast, when another cook came up and asked me which eggs I was using. I told him, and he informed me that I should immediately throw out anything I had used those eggs in, because the had been in there for over a year. As I got down to the next flat of eggs, I could see that the shells were moldy!
I remember watching this riiight before I turned 17. I really thought I related to it then. Now at 22 I have 2 things of expired eggs, a little soy sauce, tomato sauce, and a very freezer burnt chicken breast in my fridge and freezer here right now. So. I definitely felt this. I have also done that egg test SO many times

I cooked the Mac and cheese normally. Then I mixed the ramen noodles into the Mac and added the ramen flavor packet. I did this because I had small quantities of both and felt the hunger that a spritely dance major youth does. Bada bing bada boom, Ramac. Was good, prob won't do again.

With that amount of ketchup you can make "Hobo's Tomato Soup". It's an old trick they'd pull at diners. For the proper recipe you want to grab all the free stuff you can. Ketchup packets, crackers, coffee creamer (if you like it creamy) and salt and pepper for taste. Some would even ask for a hot cup of water, which the waitress might assume was for tea.
You'll get to chug the salsa and live their plates for any remaining scraps they leave behind. Bonus points its not on your plate so the calories don't count against you.
Watched this 6 years ago when it first came out. Now as an adult living on my own and making many “Technically a meal”, I use that egg test A LOT. Legit learned such useful information from this video and it’s stuck with me throughout all these years. Had to come back 6 years after initially watching just to comment and thank Zach for that egg test.

Alright, so, I've got questions. Did you put both the ramen MSG and the Mac and Cheese sauce/powder packet into the ramen mac broth or was only one of the flavoring packets used? And if so, which one? I feel like these are important questions.
@@Chandowiththehandos So I'm one of them crazy hippie folk and only eat organic ramen and Mac, so no MSG for me heehee. So I cooked my ramen and strained the noodles. I cooked the Mac and cheese normally. Then I mixed the ramen noodles into the Mac and added the ramen flavor packet.
I did this because I had small quantities of both and felt the hunger that a spritely dance major youth does. Bada bing bada boom, Ramac. Was good, prob won't do again.

With that amount of ketchup you can make "Hobo's Tomato Soup". It's an old trick they'd pull at diners. For the proper recipe you want to grab all the free stuff you can. Ketchup packets, crackers, coffee creamer (if you like it creamy) and salt and pepper for taste. Some would even ask for a hot cup of water, which the waitress might assume was for tea.

You'll get to chug the salsa and live their plates for any remaining scraps they leave behind. Bonus points its not on your plate so the calories don't count against you.

Watched this 6 years ago when it first came out. Now as an adult living on my own and making many “Technically a meal”, I use that egg test A LOT. Legit learned such useful information from this video and it’s stuck with me throughout all these years. Had to come back 6 years after initially watching just to comment and thank Zach for that egg test.

I honestly cannot believe how well this summarizes my problems with food just within the last week. Only thing missing is the sink full of dishes that you still really don’t want to clean even though all your necessary tools and vessels are in there.
Rice, egg, frozen veggies, soy sauce, and whatever spices you have stir fried together is super easy and delicious
