A year and a half later on posting, and you're still pretty much the only guy with a video about this topic, amazing job! Have you thought about making a second video with a full bike wash, detailing your rims, chrome parts, exhaust, and etc?
Zombie Fool I can honestly say I really like these product! I use the helmet cleaner ever time before i ride. Clean my visor. I also use the detailing spray almost every time
My Fat Bob was black denim(matte). I used HD denim protector 2 times, it was ok, but the best product I found to use was Windex and a microfiber. Regular wash and Windex for in between washes. Chrome, mirrors and matte paint. No fading after 5 years of owning the bike. Some of these products for matte paint actually make the paint appear to have a shine and not look correct. Just my experience with matte paint. 👍🏻👍🏻
hey bro, thanks so much for making this video.. expecting my matte ABS bobber any day now.. The Jet Seal on Amazon has some mixed reviews - some people praising it, and others saying it completly ruined their paint jobs. They provided pics and it looked devastating. I'm on the fence now about using it.. have you noticed any issues? Now that its been awhile, how is the paint and these products holding up? Thanks again!!!
Drew Dough I think most matte paints do scuff and scratch a bit easier than normal paint. From what I researched it’s also more difficult/impossible to repair. I used the matte jet seal on my fenders, tank and headlight nacelle. For me and my colour they worked great. And then detailing with the matte detailer spray makes it just pop in the sun! I really have had great results. I can’t speak for the others. But there are people out there that believe the world is flat. So I’m sure there are people out there that can ruin a paint job and blame the product. But that’s just my opinion. I have found that the two (maybe three?) contact pads on the back of the seat that touches the back fender has started to leave a mark. Gonna try and get some of that clear plastic that protects automotive paint put on I think.
Great looking bike, was always wondering how people took care of the matte finish. Funny, I was just working on a video about the cleaning products I use (I have reg paint). Good stuff SUBSCRIBED!
1schooner78 sorry I didn’t respond sooner. I guess I didn’t see this. I really like them. I use the detailed pretty much every time before a ride. Keeps the bike look g great.
James Thomas I’ve been really happy with these products. Totally recommend. And the underside of the fender may or may not be covered in rubber from the odd burnout. But I can neither confirm nor deny that.
J*A*Y really liking the spray. It nice to me able to do a real quick in between spray detail in between washes. Takes 3-4 minutes. Quick wipe and then I’m on my way. Love it
Jeffrey Moat I don’t know? I don’t normally. But I was conditioning the leather. It may have gotten a little sprinkle. But wasn’t flushing it out. I’d imagine it no worse than riding in the rain?
Amrish Kumar no Indian did not offer my bike with abs in this colour. Only the matte blacks had abs. I have never riden a bike with abs. I can only imagine it’s a good thing.
How did you remove your tank sticker on the Matte paint? This os my second tank on my Indian and the first sticker removal was a FAIL the outline of it wouldn't remove it was basically stained in. How should I do it? I also use the same cleaning products. 😊
@@c.j.8215 that’s a tough colour. Matte black is so unforgiving. I have heard of some using a heat gun/hair dryer. Go slowly. Try not to tear the sticker. A bit of wd-40 works as well. But don’t “buff” it. It will gloss the paint and you will be able to see it for sure.
Rajesh Verma I use the spray detailer pretty much every time I ride. I use the wash whenever I feel I should. I use the jet seal once season. Or if I feel like loving my bike.
Jason Graham meh. No different than riding in the rain. It was low pressure water. Seats off because you’ll get water marks on the leather. I wasn’t blasting the fuse panel directly. It’s fuel injected. There’s no carb to get water in. No distributor to get wet. Besides the bottom of the bike is not exactly sealed so water kicked up from the rear tire in a wet road is still getting in there. However I totally understand your concern. I do use some discretion. But hey. We all have a different way of doing things. Depending on the dirtiness. I will wash with a soap and water. Between washes I use the matte detailer spray. Really like it. Appreciate the heads up! Thanks for watching!
Just got a bobber with a flat paint job, thanks for showing me some new products to get.
I still use them. Use them on all my vehicles too.

Hi the saddle bag you have ,does it come with all the hardware to install.
Kenneth Pietraroia yes. It was direct from Indian for the bobber. Came with everything needed

Open Roader look forward to seeing it!
Badass bikes man. How has the products held up so far? I need to get something specifically for my type of paint on the Bobber too.

might as well do the underside since the fender is on the benchtop. Happy riding, and thanks for being the Guinea pig

How has the detail spray worked out? Gorgeous bike man.

Almost a year later and still love it.
Hey Jay, I see you took the seat off. No worries about water getting in there?

Jay Fast prob not. P.S. If you put that protective film on, it'd be nice to see how it turns out. Cheers
Does your bike hv ABS ?If not would you recommend a new beingner rider like me to get the Indian scout sixty without ABS
Amrish Kumar no Indian did not offer my bike with abs in this colour. Only the matte blacks had abs. I have never riden a bike with abs.

Interesting. What colour is your tank? Mine came right off. I pulled it off at the dealer.

Do it sooner rather than later. The sun will also make it leave a shadow over time
@@jay_fast thank you!
Have you found a way to remove the lightest paint scratches on matte paint? I have one that is really light. There has got to be a way.
Unfortunately. None that I have come across. Matte is very unforgiving
Thanks for the video!
Casey Roskwitalski a thumbs and heart for you good sir
I got my bobber in October 2017 and the poor girl still wasn’t been washed once smh lol
GOOSE time to show her some love!
GOOSE Same here, got mine in September but just washed it last week. I used dish soap, matte black,
how often we should use the product?

@@jay_fast thnx bro for replying....love from India ❤
Rajesh Verma anytime!!

FW911 ha. She’s me girl. Lucy will be 10 this June.
Not sure that I would ever hit my bike with a hose, especially with the seat off exposing the electrics.....ummmmm
