  • Does your hot water system valve keep leaking? You probably have the same problem with what we encountered in this video - a Pressure Limiting Valve that's not good enough to hold the pressure.
    Watch until the end to find out how to deal with this problem.
    Remember, the recommended Australian Standard of #waterpressure is 500kPa.
    If you have similar #PressureLimitingValve like the one we show in the video above, make sure you get it checked. Especially if you live up the hills where the #pressure is even greater, many of the PLVs have failed.
    It is very important to make sure your #water #meter has a good PLV that can hold great pressure.

    Its unbelievable how good is beautiful plumbing is and how clear and cover all the points to the fullest when they explain. I have never called beautiful plumbing because i live in melbourne. But over last year I had major issues in my house and i had no clue what was going on and Beautifull plumbings videos helped me understand what was actually causing the issues and how to rectify it. Very genuine and clean spoken. God bless you all keep doing good work!!!

    Wow to find an actual aussie related video. That is my issue. The dodgy one put in 20 years ago. I tested it myself with my own gauge and it was way over 500kpa.

      @@BeautifulPlumbing how much cost to install new one

    Great vid explanations - I had a PRV installed yesterday - AVG Pressure Reduction Valve Boundary 20mm 500KPA Right Angle Copper x Female.
    I found the taps were all fine afterwards but the kitchen mixer sink pressure sputtered and then had really low pressure. I took out the aerator and found a lot of deposits, tap was only installed less than a month ago.
    On the side of the prv box it notes “flush all pipework before installing”. The plumber who installed didn’t flush the pipes before or after. I spoke to a plumber I get for bigger projects and he said this should have been done also.
    What are your thoughts around this one? I didn’t see any note of flushing pipes in this video?

    My property’s blown x2 hot water outlet valves in a very short space of time not happy.... I wished the plumbers had checked the water pressure prior. I’m having one of the pressure limiting valves installed tomorrow so hopefully that will resolve the current 20l + a days of wasted water that’s coming out of the hot water system

    It amazes me builders or whoever seems to finish houses are allowed to do so without having these correct valves fitted at meters then years later home owners have to correct the problems left for them...

    I've just had a new hot water tank installed today. I live end of dead end road and have high pressure. The installer said i dont need this valve. My hot water tank was 26 yrs old. If i installed one of these would i lose shower pressure. I do get knocking in my pipes. Hope to hear from you soon.

    I've got low pressure but 270 and want about 700 kpa are they adjustable ?

  • @awoodward37
    @awoodward37 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can the prv that was installed be adjusted down to be less than 500 kPa? How low can they be set to. (I have bad water hammer and I would rather have reduced water pressure than pay someone to climb under my house, looking for loose wall mounts.)

  • @Artisan322

    Hi, i live in a unit complex and i am hearing knocking sounds in my wall close to where my water meter is located every time people in neighbouring units are using their taps. Our water pressure is quite high out of the taps, would this pressure relief valve cure my problem?

    • @BeautifulPlumbing
      @BeautifulPlumbing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tony, yes we would suggest trying that out first. How high is your pressure? It shouldn't be over 500kPa (Australian standard).

    • @tonyspuds5041
      @tonyspuds5041 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BeautifulPlumbing hi thanks for your reply, water pressure is very high, if i was to guess, up around the 1000kpa mark. I did call in a plumber and suggested putting in the pressure limiting valve, he was sceptical at first saying it was a 50/50 chance of fixing my problem but one week on since fitting the valve, i have not heard a single noise in my wall. Happy days!
