Very helpful…I was annoyed at Tonals fee, process, and timing for an reinstall after a move and this video helped with just doing it ourselves. Thanks!
Thanks for posting! Initially had the “professional” installers install Tonal in an unfinished basement. It was not leveled correctly despite having exposed wood studs. They did a sloppy job. Still can’t believe that!
After finishing our basement, I had to relocate the Tonal and decided to use your video and do it myself! Thanks for helping me save $300 Tonal Relocation Fee! It’s perfectly level and looks amazing compared to Tonal’s “professional” mounting service.
Oh wow interesting story. I guess you can see that the level is critical to making sure everything is good at the end. Nice job relocating it yourself! I’m happy to hear stories like this.
Where did you buy the screws for the brackets and the side bolts? Can you please share the links?
I did it myself, and yes it went fine, it was just heavy. Good instructional video!
Thanks. I’m happy to hear other people are able move theirs without being locked in with Tonal’s fees.
Great video Jake, you made this incredibly easy!
I love hearing this! Good work 👊 I’m really digging the Tonal so far.
THANK YOU for this!
I did it myself also. As long as you find the studs on the wall it's easy.
Is there anything you’d do the next time if you had another crack at it?
@@fixitwithjake Not really. It's pretty simple.
Ok thanks. Just trying to learn More. I appreciate it.
Wow super helpful video! Thanks FixitwithJake
Do you have any recommendations on how to pack the tonal? I intend for a moving company to move mine since I don't have a car right now
Honestly, I just put mine in the back of my car so I did not do much packing. But if I had to pack it for longer distance, I would use Big zip ties to secure the arms to the body, so it does not flop around. And then you’ll have to use some really good bubble wrap protection for the screen. I think the vulnerable part will be the screen and the corners of the screen. The back of it is all metal. I hope that helps a bit.
I’m trying to get the Wide Mount Adapter Bars if someone is selling it let me know please!
The manual says M6 1.0x8mm bolts but the ones in your video look shorter? Maybe it was just the camera angle?
I used the bolts from the prior installation. Depending I what year they installed the tonal they might be different. At some point they also changed the bolts on the side of the machine.
@@fixitwithjake Thank you, I bought a used one off Ebay, but it did not come with any installation hardware or mounting bracket. Tonal was really cool about selling me a wall mount bracket for next to nothing but they do not sell any of the bolts. I'll just do some trial and error. Thanks for the quick reply!
@brianmaslowski7901 oh gotcha. That’s great. They got you a bracket easily. The lag bolts that go into wood studs should be this size : 1/4” x 2.5” and you will need 8 of them. This is directly from the installation manual. www.reddit.com/r/tonalgym/s/BTKY0j6w4w
