This kind of problem I have personally faced when I was in Tamilnadu . Actually people like to live with those kind of people who are much similar to them , may be in language or in face ... North East Indians are separated from the rest of india , they don't travel to the other parts of India on a regular basis , they don't mingle up with the North Indians or South Indians !! Our way of living is diffrent from the rest of india In northeast there are many north and south indians who are either working or studying and we mingled very well with them but after we go out of northeast it is very hard to mingled with some fellow indians because our way of living is entirely diffrent and people from rest of the part of India like our style of living Northeastern mostly follow their own traditional cultures and food and we mostly follow the westerners .That is why some indians dont accpct us for our culture and food .So it is very hard to mingled .And by the way most northeastrns study and works in various parts of india

He " Are you an Indian?"
Me " Yes i am an Indian from North east and showed him my id card "
He " Where from Nepal?"
To which i just replied with a smile " i didn't know Nepal is situated in India "
What im trying to say is , most people outside NE if not all look at us in a completely different way. We are being called chinky , chinese , nepalese and losts of several names starting from young to old . Like seriously most people living in mainland india really needs to change their mindsets . Its not like we are still living in the 18th 19th century . Living outside of our NE is really difficult for us even to this day. I just hope things change and people grow up mentally and not mock and call by names but rather see us as equal as a fellow Indian .

This kind of problem I have personally faced when I was in Tamilnadu . Actually people like to live with those kind of people who are much similar to them , may be in language or in face ... North East Indians are separated from the rest of india , they don't travel to the other parts of India on a regular basis , they don't mingle up with the North Indians or South Indians !! These may be the reason of such racism I think , but if they are well educated and well behaved , they won't do such things
Our way of living is diffrent from the rest of india In northeast there are many north and south indians who are either working or studying and we mingled very well with them but after we go out of northeast it is very hard to mingled with some fellow indians because our way of living is entirely diffrent and people from rest of the part of India like our style of living Northeastern mostly follow their own traditional cultures and food and we mostly follow the westerners .That is why some indians dont accpct us for our culture and food .So it is very hard to mingled .And by the way most northeastrns study and works in various parts of india
