I'm a public school teacher in California, and we have a large Sikh population at our school. I've been teaching in the same neighborhood for 20 years, and have to say that our Sikh students are overall amazingly mature, respectful, kind, self-assured, intelligent, and fun! I adore all my students, but there is something very unique and special about our Sikh students.

Sikh temples have food served every single day and anyone can come and eat. Opened to everyone. This is beautiful. Anytime someone is in need they are welcome to eat in the Sikh Temple. Door is always opened to the hungry...delicious and nutritious Indian foods... This is truly amazing.

I’m Scottish and I come from mixed Christian faiths( catholic and Protestant) I am an agnostic however in the past I have felt mostly drawn to eastern religions. Particularly Buddhism and Hindu. I've made a hobby of studying the religions of the world. I completely fell in love with Sikhi. I'm a Midwestern white boy that was raised hardcore Christian. I find myself standing up for Sikh that get ridiculed for being "terrorists", even though I run the risk of being shot for doing so. I'm Christian and years ago an elderly Sikh woman invited me to her home to talk about our beliefs. It is one of the most beautiful religious discussions I have ever had in my life. There was no arguing, accusations, or judgements. We simply talked about our beliefs and what they meant to us. By the end of the discussion we both had formed a friendship based on love and respect. We visited many times afterwards until I had to move. I am so grateful I met her and that she shared what she loved most with someone who had never even heard of Sikhism before.

I was entreaged when a man come to my door to help with my internet And I asked if he was Muslim or sikh and he said Sikh and I continued to share my religious beliefs and my hobby’s and he stood there and just listen to me , I stated the fact I was 23 years old and then he had said he was 22 and I asked him how do you hold your peace , why do you look so happy ,and he just simply told me cause of god . We then continued to share our beliefs and now I’m here today I think that any religion that involves a maintenance of peace is good to me .

I spent years researching religions to find the one that I thought had all the right elements, served humanity, believed in Oneness of people, connectedness to God, gender equality, no judgment or hatred of other people or religions, and as an American, I made my way through all the Christian choices and moved on to Islam and Judaism and on from there to religions I had less or no exposure to, when I got to Sikhism, I felt home. I fell so deeply into it that I stayed up half the night researching and tying poorly tied turbans and sought out conversion and Sikh baptism immediately. So, not only is Sikhism the religion I would choose to be, it is the one I chose.

Over 100,000 people visit the holy Darbar Sahib daily for worship, and also partake jointly in the free community kitchen and meal (Langar) regardless of any distinctions or religion, a tradition that is a hallmark of all Sikh Gurdwara. A big lesson to learn From Darbar Sahib for both Hindus and Sikhs which both miss to learn.. Be a good human

the best think about sikhism is that langars (free food) is served 24-7 at any Gurduara (sikh temple) for everyone. They practice what they preach and allow anyone to come in and eat. Great and hardworking people! In addition you will never find a homeless sikh in india or anywhere. Also they were great warriors in Ancient times hence their khanda (symbol) with sword and daggers. Coming from an athiest.
Also look up nagar kirtan (roughly translates to community gathering) where free food is served to everyone in the festival and lots of it and its all voluntary where locals/followers pitch in a huge pot luck ! Look it up!
I'm Scottish and have a few Sikh friends but know a lot more, they are the nicest people you could meet anywhere. I've never heard a bad word spoken about them and would be surprised if I did.
I'm a public school teacher in California, and we have a large Sikh population at our school. I've been teaching in the same neighborhood for 20 years, and have to say that our Sikh students are overall amazingly mature, respectful, kind, self-assured, intelligent, and fun! I adore all my students, but there is something very unique and special about our Sikh students.

I’m Scottish and I come from mixed Christian faiths( catholic and Protestant) I am an agnostic however in the past I have felt mostly drawn to eastern religions. Particularly Buddhism and Hindu. I have had Sikh friendships and they have been so wonderful and full of respect and love. Which in my view love should be the main body of any religion ❤️ blessings to all 🙏

I'm Christian and years ago an elderly Sikh woman invited me to her home to talk about our beliefs. It is one of the most beautiful religious discussions I have ever had in my life. There was no arguing, accusations, or judgements. We simply talked about our beliefs and what they meant to us. By the end of the discussion we both had formed a friendship based on love and respect. We visited many times afterwards until I had to move. I am so grateful I met her and that she shared what she loved most with someone who had never even heard of Sikhism before.

And I asked if he was Muslim or sikh and he said Sikh and I continued to share my religious beliefs and my hobby’s and he stood there and just listen to me , I stated the fact I was 23 years old and then he had said he was 22 and I asked him how do you hold your peace , why do you look so happy ,and he just simply told me cause of god . We then continued to share our beliefs and now I’m here today

I spent years researching religions to find the one that I thought had all the right elements, served humanity, believed in Oneness of people, connectedness to God, gender equality, no judgment or hatred of other people or religions, and as an American, I made my way through all the Christian choices and moved on to Islam and Judaism and on from there to religions I had less or no exposure to, when I got to Sikhism, I felt home. I fell so deeply into it that I stayed up half the night researching and tying poorly tied turbans and sought out conversion and Sikh baptism immediately. So, not only is Sikhism the religion I would choose to be, it is the one I chose.

I must say the teachings of Sikh Scripture is based on logic , reason and proven facts. It’s about how to a be a good human, live meaningful life and serve others. Sikh spiritual philosophy does not believe in life after death, heaven and hell. It is all about present, surrendering to immutable laws of nature. Sikhism does not believe miracles could happen in violation of the laws of nature.
I've never seen a Sikh that was angry or bitter. They always exude a calm and serenity. I'm a truck driver in America and there are many Sikh truck drivers.

Please first read gurbani with there meanings, other wise no use of just mere parrot reading of gurbani and then without any thought believing what gyanis and kathavachak says!!

the best think about sikhism is that langars (free food) is served 24-7 at any Gurduara (sikh temple) for everyone.
They practice what they preach and allow anyone to come in and eat. Great and hardworking people! In addition you will never find a homeless sikh in india or anywhere. Also they were great warriors in Ancient times hence their khanda (symbol) with sword and daggers.

Also look up nagar kirtan (roughly translates to community gathering) where free food is served to everyone in the festival and lots of it and its all voluntary where locals/followers pitch in a huge pot luck ! Look it up!

I'm Scottish and have a few Sikh friends but know a lot more, they are the nicest people you could meet anywhere. I've never heard a bad word spoken about them and would be surprised if I did.
