    Wow! That was one of the best videos I’ve seen in a while. I watch many. When I saw the beginning of the video, I was trying to figure in my mind how u did it. But I hadn’t a clue, and was riveted to my iPad. Even without the black latex it looked great. I’m one that love clay sculptures not painted. Left in grey clay color. Anyway.. I’m gonna watch some more of your videos later tonight.

    Would love to see how you skin one with spandex and use latex that way I could see the difference in the two!! Love you work man!

    • @BarefootProps
      @BarefootProps  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Zero1282 yep the spandex is a little difficult not get wrinkles. Light weight thin stuff is easier. When another muscle suit build comes up I’ll make sure to film it if we go that route. Thanks for commenting and watching!

    Love this vid. Would love to attempt to make it myself but it seems over in England that the latex paint and the quarter inch foam just aren't available to buy 🙁

    You should change your thumbnail, this looked much better in the video than what the thumbnail showed, I think this video could get a ton more views.

    this is awesome!! i'm working on a cosplay of a character called MAG Hank (from Madness Combat) and he's got a singular huge arm kinda like this one, i've been looking everywhere for tutorials with more simpler materials because unfortunately i am on a tight budget, but this video is just what i needed! thank you!!!!

    This is amazing. I am looking at doing Thanos this Halloween and will be following this method. One question, can you bend your arms in this style of suit?

    • @BarefootProps
      @BarefootProps  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Scott Williamson yes but it can be a little tight. I got the bicep a little long on this build which made it harder because it hit at the elbow. My venom trooper was even bigger at I could move pretty good.

    Awesome concept and good tutorial. I've done muscle suits before for my BVS Batman and Darth Knight cosplays but was looking to up my game and came across this while researching. Ironically, I too am doing a Thing for my next project and this gave me some ideas!

    thought i seen all videos about muscle suits or monster making in general...really cool what i seen so far...for larger suits with alot of foam you could use an electric bread knife. really helped me just sayin. keep up the good work.

      jiorts yep I tried ours but didn’t work well. Probably just bad blades. I like the band saw the best. Check out my video on female muscle suit.

    This tutorial has saved me. One question though. How does the latex react to heat? I'll be going to a con that is mainly outside during the summer.

    What kind of foam is the 1/4 inch? I am trying to make my son an arm for a big arm morty costume and ordered some that wasn't the right kind.

    • @BarefootProps
      @BarefootProps  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fireamethyst it upholstery foam. I have a video where to get great foam and I show you where I get it.

  • @usfmba08
    @usfmba08 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    How did you create the hands? The video skipped the hand/wrist build

    • @BarefootProps
      @BarefootProps  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Justin Littlejohn yeah I just filmed that part in high speed. Basically I used a work glove for base and built up layers of foam on it. I trimmed it to get the shape right and skinned it like rest of arm.

    • @BarefootProps
      @BarefootProps  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes a glove that covers wrist would be good. Just anything that you can get your hand in and out easily. Seems like mine had elastic in wrist so I cut the elastic to make it easy to slide on. As far as your other question either 1/4 of 1/8 thick foam should work. 1/4 will hide defects a little better but won’t be as sharp and defined. The one featured in this video is 1/4 inch thick except for the hand.

    • @usfmba08
      @usfmba08 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you much. Lucky if I can get close to what you did. You did a great job. Where did you get the 1/4 inch? Is it upholstery foam too or something else? I can’t seem to find much under 1/2 inch. Also have you ever used EVA foam, like a 2mm over the initial layer, can that work as well instead of the 1/4 inch? It’s malleable enough but may not hide the imperfections. Thank you again for you help. This was best video that was closest to what I am trying to do.

    • @BarefootProps
      @BarefootProps  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Justin Littlejohn I have a video about where to get good foam. You can order it from one of those sites. Eva foam will be to stiff.

    • @usfmba08
      @usfmba08 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Looking into foam mart and other. Just trying to do something a little different which is why I thought of EVA foam. I will give the 1/8 or 1/4 a shot first. Thank you for your help! Awesome videos/help

    I'm looking to make a Spawn suit. For the latex flesh would leak seal spray latex work? I've really been curious but noone has tried it yet

    • @BarefootProps
      @BarefootProps  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stefan Luna if your talking about something like “Flex Seal” it probably would. Would try on scrap piece first. To make sure the solvent in paint spray can wouldn’t dissolve it. Dry times might be long.

    • @stefanluna
      @stefanluna 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BarefootProps Well I use the leak seal which is basically flex seal but from rustoleum as {I used to work with them and I use only their paint products. I works wonders on foam armor sealing and in about less than an hour.

    • @BarefootProps
      @BarefootProps  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for info!!! Flex seal is like a 24 hour full cure time so that other stuff sounds great. Still would test in scrap piece of upholstery foam first.
