Other than the obvious bolts up top it's all snap clips. Just pry carefully with a plastic trim tool. It looks good in person too honestly. Still holding up through winter. Makes them look new again!
ThatAccordGuy yea I know about the clip pins up top but was not sure about the others if it was just a simple clip. Good to know. My chrome is wore off from the front deflector dripping water on it and like you I don’t like chrome. Just painted my exhaust tip mate black. It looks MINT
@@residenthillbilly7854 hell yeah! Black is always better than crome! Good luck with painting everything! Try not to do it in the sun is my only tip. Will minimize the striping from the paint cans lol
I think black cladding on a white one looks sick! I wish mine was white haha. It's holding up great on everything but the bumpers. I think that I should have cleaned them better with denatured alcohol. People use plastic restorer on bumpers a lot and it causes the paint not to stick. Its peeling off the rear bumper only. Otherwise it's holding up great! My dad's truck we did the same way and it's holding up great a few years later. Little faded but still black
I have a white 03 as well and I'm excited about painting the cladding black because Im tired of the waxing/shiner stuff fading and leaving streak marks on the body once it rains. Did you ever paint yours?
Mostly home depot for the spray paint stuff. Or Walmart. If you want real pain supplies you'll have to find a specialty auto parts paint supplies store
To be honest you should get a can of 2k clear. This grill didn't really hold up. It's fading and It chipped because the paint is fried. Needs to have hardener in it or it won't hold up. Figured id try it but ehhh didn't last longer than a year
I followed your idea. Worked out 👍🏿 thanx. My Avalanche looks great
Glad to hear it! I need to redo mine it's peeling in some spots
I bought one of those triggers for spray cans that sure helps save the finger
I've got one lying around yeah definitely good when you're spraying big areas
mighta missed it but what grid sandpaper did you use
how did your remove the front grill?? i have a red 02 i want to do this too. over all i like how it came out

Is the chrome piece on the grill just clips I’m trying to take off the chrome from a grill part and put it on mine
Oh idk if the chrome comes off easily man haven't tried. Only removed the entire grill
Hows the paint holding as of now on the body plastic? Would that color black look good on a white avalanche lol

How did you remove the grill? Im having trouble
Yeah you just gotta grab that thing and yank. On the four corners. And on the ends too. Solid tug
My pop's would have yelled at me for painting on the driveway/sidewalk. Ha ha!
Also, I agree that the chrome had to go.
Lmao luckily was off the ground enough to not get over spray anywhere 😭
@@ThatAccordGuy Also, did that clear coat have UV protection? I want to paint my '07 grill from crome to black.

@@ThatAccordGuy Great tip! Thanks my guy.

Yeah 2"
wheel size?
It's a 22x9
They're off a 17 Denali
@@ThatAccordGuy thanks. Nice ride dude
Thanks bro!
Use a blowtorch to make the fade go away
I was thinking about trying that actually. Maybe I will do that instead of paint since it all peeled off lol
@@ThatAccordGuy almost looks brand new on my avalanche. Do that first before trying to paint it
I did a test run with a tiny torch lighter, wrote some words in there lol then got the regular torched and torched her down
Nice man I'll give it a try! Got nothing to lose at this point. Hardest part will be stripping the paint.
Spacers ?
Yeah running 2" spacers
@@ThatAccordGuy tires ?
They're bridgestone duelers
Anyone else doing this the clips for the cladding are available on Amazon 100 for $20
