Wow! I used “Mother’s Back to Black” restorer about a year ago on my Chevy Avalanche, and it didn’t last for longer than a few months. I thought I did something wrong because truthfully I’m not too savvy when it comes to vehicles. I just bought “Meguires ultimate black restorer” (spray can) because I heard good things and I think I’m going to return it and go with this product! I found your video on accident, and so glad I did! Thank you very much 😬👍🏼
Bro have I gotta tip for you. I picked this up from a body pro I use to work for. I've only seen it done to the exterior pieces, but it's a home brew you'll love. My 'guy' enlightened me onto this fix when I was dazzling up my 08 Sierra for a quick flip. The grill on it had issues. He took a handheld propane torch and showed me his secret. It just burned away the old & revield a new appearing grill. Worked like a champ on my black abs. I'm guessing it would work on any color abs. Grab you a messed up piece & slowly heat it up. I'll await your video ~
Only problem with that is long term it will dry out the plastic and eventually crack and or create “tiger stripe” marks. I know the burn technique it’s a very old school trick but with products like solution finish it’s just not needed anymore. I do appreciate your input and in no way mean disrespect by my response.
@@AndysAutoCarePlus wow, that's the 1st time I've heard of it not being a forever fix. Heck, the 4 jobs I brought in just for that process, he gave them his "lifetime guarantee" or 3 years, which ever comes first. Lol He would charge 100's of dollars per job. The longest job took him 3 hours and that was only due to having to wait 30 minutes for me to make a run to get more propane bottles. He had a gift, a gift of gab my father said about him once. Those old schoolers could sure read us younguns back then. I no longer work for the man, as the bad karma that seems to follow him, had returned with a vengeance last February. That really does surprise me that it could turn back the same or worse down the road. I absolutely appreciate your reply comment back to me sir. My eyes are definitely wideopen now~
Appreciate the advice. But I do have a quick question. Shouldn't you remove the oxidation first instead of just covering it with something that's going to wash off with just normal rain.
I use to have a 2006 Avalanche.....The best way i found to get the plastic back to normal was to heat it up with a heat gun.....it took a while to do, but all of the plastic/Rubber trim pieces looked like brand new......Not crazy, try it on a small section and let me know. I used a heat gun that would be used to remove paint....Hope it will work for you as well. Thanks for the video's Andy, i enjoy watching!!
is there any kind of run off/discoloration you have to worry about on the vehicles paint when it rains? I have a Pearl White 2010 Avalanche and need to restore the trim on the bed but dont want streaking/running on to my paint.
Solution finish is absolutely amazing last a really long time, as far as this vehicle in particular I haven’t seen this vehicle since. But a different Chevy avalanche I did I saw a year later and it still looked great
Awesome bro!! Hope you and your family are doing good 👍🏼

Going to try this thank you!
Your welcome
Appreciate the advice.
But I do have a quick question.

I’m glad he ignored your question….

I did that. It works but it goes back faded after few months...
Never do that people. Temp solution but gets worse than before.

I have a Pearl White 2010 Avalanche and need to restore the trim on the bed but dont want streaking/running on to my paint.
never had a issue with it just do a good wipe down after letting it soak in. It recommends letting sit for 2 minutes or so.
How’s the solution been holding up since?
Solution finish is absolutely amazing last a really long time, as far as this vehicle in particular I haven’t seen this vehicle since. But a different Chevy avalanche I did I saw a year later and it still looked great
What did you use to clean the plastics before applying that?
Superclean 4-1
I want to use this on my chevy avalanche. Just making g sure once it is rubbed off will it rub off in clothes or self afterwards?
No it is dry and last through washing as well.
Where is the link for the solution finish? I can't seem to find it!
It’s in the description but here you go.
Solution Finish Kit 12 oz amzn.to/34QedXr
Solution Finish 1 oz amzn.to/2ytSI2A
I was told to use the 'grey' solution finish on my Avalanche. Anyone wanna chime in. Apparently the cladding is not really factory black...?
I have seen them with gray and ones with black.
👍👍
Just use cerakote trim kote. Lasts about a year or more even outdoors
I do both. First Restore with solution finish then coat with Cerakote
So when you say this job lasts 6 months to maybe a year are you saying that for Solution Finish alone, or when topped with Cerakote?
Pam cooking apray
That would be a temporary thing for sure. This is a long term restoration
@@AndysAutoCarePlus how bout grey primer ?
It's permanent or have to start over after whatever rain. !!!!!!!
Solution Finish is a permanent restoration product! Love this stuff. Solution Finish Kit 12 oz amzn.to/34QedXr
Solution Finish 1 oz amzn.to/2ytSI2A
A torch works better, and it lasts longer..
Using that method actually deteriorates the plastic as well as dries it out
@@AndysAutoCarePlus not when treated afterwards.
