7 minutes of material but I did take 40 minutes with the info. Still this is a better method of learning for me than sitting through someone over explaining the subject
THANK YOU. I'm having to take a test to enter college and was told math will be on it. I've been out of high school since 1975. This has realllly helped me.
Thank you so much. I always had problems with decimal and percentages when I was young. I finally understand how easy this is and now I’m a mathematical genius.
you know , I really thank you .. I am a S.A.T taker and after 12 years I've spent at school , this is the first time I understand this lesson . considering that my grade was always A+
165% is actually 1.65 as a decimal number -- remember that a whole number (the whole amount is 100% or 1.0) so the percentage sentence would be: ___ x 1.65 = 186 then you would solve as demonstrated in the video --thanks
this helped me so much ..I dropped out of school after I finished the 9th grade and ion been in school for 5years forgot all about how to do this thanks
Math for middle school students my ass. I am 36 yrs old struggling in Math 65. lol I actually passed math 60 after 2 attempts. All I need is to pass math 65 and I am done with school. 10-8-14
So easy, I missed out because of the war. Grateful I am a smart woman and taught myself a lot and passed languages, geography etc but could never understand English enough to get a grip on mathematics. I was top of my class starting high a hook when war broke out and we had to get out. So many thanks, practicing diligently
Thank you for this video. It actually taught me something, in middle school that I should have gotten by the time I graduated from there, i would, if I knew any middle schoolers, tell them to TH-cam and review this video. And if they like the video, I should definitely ask them to look at the other programs that the tube has for them and take heed of what the videos can do for them
Wonderful! I will be teaching GED math, and this will help my students not only with direct problems, but in setting up word problems. I generally teach Reading and Language Arts, so I appreciate any tips I can get from experienced math teachers. Thanks!
im in college, its embarrassing that im just learning this at 30 what middle school students have already mastered. im too embarrassed to ask a live person for help so having easy to follow videos like these are imperative. Thank you so much for this. I definitely will be using the alphabet line trick to remember which way to move the decimal point from here on out.
@@isap5437 I need a tutor also. Unfortunately the school actually offers them for free but I'm an hour an a half out from the school. Taking their developmental math online with no babysitter for my baby.
@@isap5437 I was actually going good in this math class up until this point this semester. Surprisingly. But now that I'm on these percent word problems, I got so frustrated last night I was in tears and just had to turn it off and walk away lol.
Point eight (.8) is not the correct answer; you should divide 32 by .40 which will give you 80, remember that when you change a percent to a decimal number in order to "do the math" (in this case 40%) you need to move the decimal point (even if it is invisible) two places to the left, then do the math.
That good 😄😄 I now came home from school ☺ and my S.E.A was not hard next month I will get results and I will go to High school it's great that you have GED .
Just remember the equation (( is over of / % over 100 )) So 186 over x is equal to 165 over 100. Cross multiply. You get 165x = 18600. solving for x you take 18600 / 165 to get 112.73. X = 112.73. That's your answer. Plug that answer for X into your original cross multiplication equation and they both should equal out to 18600.
Thanks for these types of videos! I am in College and my teacher was trying to explain this and I didn't get what he was saying. I totally forgot how to do these questions.

This was very helpful for me and I'm taking business math in college
woww I neveer ever remembr the steps till now thankks
Yeah because u can take screen shots
Just remember the equation (( is over of / % over 100 )) So 186 over x is equal to 165 over 100. Cross multiply. You get 165x = 18600. solving for x you take 18600 / 165 to get 112.73. X = 112.73. That's your answer. Plug that answer for X into your original cross multiplication equation and they both should equal out to 18600.
Thank you so much u making me learn all day thank u so much u teach better then my math teacher thx😁😘
Thankyou so much i am ready now to starting entrance exam.

thank you, for refreshing my mind I know how but to explain it to my kids I needed help
Ohh thank u this is our lesson in math
BTW I amGrade6
Thanks for these types of videos! I am in College and my teacher was trying to explain this and I didn't get what he was saying. I totally forgot how to do these questions.
I get confused as to when to multiply and when to divide.
ok
jasmine drewry 1.65*....=186
186/1.65=112.7272
18600/165=112.7272
you divide when you have the answer given. you multiply when you are looking o get an answer
You need to multiply if the percentage is needed and u need to divide if rate and base are needed
Thank you. I like how you explain how to work the problem. I'll be back.
