Btw, got the idea from a local waffle place to put red bean paste, matcha (green tea) ice cream, and whipped cream on top of waffle. Such a yummy classic Japanese style waffle.
Oh my this is the best Waffle recipe I have tried. I don't understand why there are 7 dislikes..probably most likely they don't know how to cook..SMH..
I used substitute buttermilk and these waffles were amazing! so crispy on outside and fluffy melt in your mouth middle. Topped with chocolate sauce and icecream. Thanks :D
Made these for my family this morning! These are perfect crispy waffles! I must have a small Belgian waffle maker because I was able to make 8 waffles from this recipe. Thanks very much!
Hi Joanne! Was wondering if I can turn these into pandan waffles? I still haven't found the perfect pandan waffle ;( may switch the vanilla for pandan and milk for coconut milk 🤔 Do you think they'll stay crispy?
I didn't inbox my waffle maker that got for Christmas , you're making me to finally think about using it , lol This was one delicious tutorial Thank you !
Fabulous.. love that tip as to warming in the oven... directly on the racks. I have not used the whipped egg whites in my waffles.. but , I sure will do so next time... probably tomorrow ( Sunday ) breakfast !
I got a waffle iron for Christmas so since then I've been searching for different recipes. I've tried a few that I like and few that not but tomorrow I will give yours a try and see. I'm going to measure everything tonight just to have it ready and not be rushing much since it seams time consuming with all the steps.
Hey Joanne (hope I spelled that right).I've been using your crispy waffle recipe from your blog for maybe two years now.I noticed you use more sugar is this recipe. Does this result in a crispier waffle?? Will you be updating your blog or is this a dofferent recipe?
If you like it the way it is, I'd say keep making it that way! I've tweaked the waffles I make little by little but it's so slight, I think either way works.
I've used this recipe plenty of times and would definitely recommend it. It's the best I've found and my friends love it.
The best waffle recipe I’ve tried so far, LOVE IT! Thank you so much
Best crispy waffle recipe! Thanks for sharing. Since they freeze so well, I double up the portion and enjoy them for the following month.

Really like the idea of "finishing" the waffles in the oven. Makes sense while making other waffles. Loooove that crunch you captured on audio! Lol
The oven trick: Ooooh-love that! Such a smart way to crispy up the edges AND keep everything warm. Thanks for the tip!
+Stacie Billis Great!!
"Eating a soggy waffle gives me the heebie-jeebies."

Checked a few videos. Your recipe looks best. I will add some roasted pecan pieces to mine. Bacon with waffles are awesome too. Thanks for recipe

works great with almond milk instead of buttermilk and used butter instead of oil.

Beatriz Sandoval hey me too! lol
Can you make fudgy brownies? Thanks :)
Although I had to use whole milk instead of buttermilk, my waffles still turned out great. Thanks for your recipe 👍🏾👍🏾
Great!!
I read one recipe where they used half buttermilk and half regular milk. The buttermilk added depth and the regular milk lightened the batter.
Can I make the batter now and use it tomorrow morning? I don't think I will have time to make the batter before my training
I haven't tried it. I'm not sure it would turn out well because the egg will deflate some.
You have a similar recipe on your blog that U posted a while ago it's my go to!
+Nada A Yes, this is a slight variation, but it's very similar. Glad to hear that!

Mmmm waffles ! 😳 those look amazing and fluffy
+FitAnge S Thanks!
Can we add a tbsp of vanilla essence will it ruin the waffle
Is vanilla essence similar to extract? I would think that it would work just fine in the recipe. :)
I think it's the same thing
Kayra Xtevarivs I agree. :)
Must be right out of the iron,CRISPY!
