Showed some of the figurative language from these songs to my ELA teachers, and they were blown away. I'm dissecting every little nook and crannie of any figurative language and deciphering it. This is definitely an overlooked masterpiece of literature. People keep talking about how the story is tragic and sad, but I think its beautiful. Candle Boy died happily because he achieved his dream of becoming something or someone great. And he did by protecting the children and leading them out alive. While it is sad that he lived a short life, the ending he got was the best ending he could ever dream of, and I'm happy for him.

Kinda reminded me of Legend of Danko from classic russian novel "Старуха Изергиль" It's a story of young man who led his people through the deep dark forest and when they thought they lost and can't be saved he LITERALLY RIPPED UP HIS OWN HEART that shined like a flame and showed his people the way and died as soon as they come out of the forest
Yeah, except someone fucking stepped on his heart and forgot everyone about him after they got out of the forest. At least our candle boy was remembered
Fire can either be comforting and warm, or ferocious and dangerous. Fire can either give it's light to lead your way, or it can go out of control, consuming everything in its path

AAAAAA Its seriously so good. A new Steam song is the best thing to get for Christmas, and I love the Candle Boy so much. Poor Candle Boy. But the song sounds so great, the ending where Gumi comes on softly to chant, and the part after that seriously gave me chills. Awesome job Steam!

The song was great and I loved the theater-like settings. The character's motions are just like paper cutouts in shadow theaters or just cutout theaters. Those kind of theaters are my favourites.

He died, sure, but he died a hero, after having successfully led the three lost children to safety. He got what he dreamed of, and although it cost him his life, he knew the consequences when he lit up his wick, and he did it anyway. Good for you, Candle Boy.
