I haven't had that appetizer at Longhorn, but it may be similar. We usually get the cheese stuffed mushrooms at Longhorn when we get an appetizer. I'll have to try the shrimp.
This is our favorite place to eat in the smokeys! We always eat here on each trip after visiting Cades Cove, although we’d make the drive just to eat here alone, it’s just that good! They have the best steaks you could ever put in your mouth! I haven’t had the burgers because the ribeye steak was the first and only thing I’ve ever ordered and it’s so good that I can’t bring myself to try anything else! However, my husband did have a burger on one of our visits and says it’s very good but can’t remember the name of the one he ordered. Love the atmosphere of the place and the service was outstanding! Although there is usually a wait here we never mind because we know it’s worth the wait! So glad you enjoyed your birthday meal because unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy mine! We made the trip to Calabash to get seafood but ended up at Bennetts Seafood Buffet in North Myrtle Beach. If you’ve never been there, don’t bother going! It opens at 2pm(Sunday)and we were first in line when the door opened. It was very expensive, $41.99 for each person+$2.99 for each drink, which we don’t mind if the food is good but, it wasn’t and we had to fight flies at our table the whole time we were there. Didn’t actually see any on the food buffet and didn’t go to the salad bar so we just fixed our plates and sat down to eat. We went to the dessert bar after we finished eating and there were several flies feasting on the desserts🤢! We sat our dessert plates down in front of the dessert bar along with many others and just walked away! Obviously we weren’t the only ones who didn’t care to eat the dessert! Went back to the table to pay our bill and I told the waitress about how unsanitary that was and she said, yes I know, and walked away. Anyway, sorry for the long comment, just didn’t want you or anyone else reading this to waste your money going there. We certainly won’t again! Thank you for the birthday wishes, as well. We have tried Bennett's there, but it has been about 9 years ago, I believe. We generally don't do the seafood buffets there. We go up to Calabash, or to Hoskin's for the seafood there. Sorry you did not have a good experience. It sounds very unsanitary. But yes, the Trailhead is certainly worth the drive!
Thanks for the excellent review Derek and Shawnase. We stay at Townsend alot. It is so beautiful and peaceful there. It is our favorite place but believe it or not we have never eaten here. I thought that it was just trout and I don't like fish . If I would have known the steaks were that good I would have went. Believe me this place is no a must on our next trip to Townsend. We plan on coming to Gatlinburg in November from Ligonier, Pa. Definitely going to try this place. Last time we were in Gatlinburg we had the best ribeye ever at Cherokee Grill. We crave that steak. But definitely going here. Thanks!!!
We've been to the Peddler. I love their prime rib and their salad bar, but was not very impressed with the steak I got. The marinated chicken was also very good.

I had the ribye as yall did, but Theresa had Blackberry jam with bacon burger and the asparagus. It truly was one of the best meals ever.Theresa was shocked at how good her burger tasted, she loved it.
A bit, but they are pretty comparable with any other steakhouse in that area. Starting about 6:00 into the video, I go over the menu and show the prices. I don't know if they have increased in prices since last year, or not. This video was taken in June, of 2023.

We plan on visiting Townsend later this year.. Everything looked delicious. I miss potatos though ..had to get off all starches and bread 2 years ago.

Noticed you reviewing restaurants in my neck of the woods. The Peddler in Gatlinburg has the best food in East Tennessee.
