Gosh, I wish i had this book 10 years ago. I have it now and its helping me. Actually perhaps the book came precisely when it needed to. My ex wife was trained as a feminist, but a lot of it happened subconsciously i think. I don't believe my wife is evil, but she is quite aloof from God and resistive to renewing the mind away from feminism and postmodernism. I could not handle it at all, I hade no frame of reference to understand what was happening and I went into a massive depression, withdrew and started fighting back towards my wife, which was wrong. I didnt know how to deal with it. I wasn't angry - I was scared of my wife, she didnt seem to have any restraint in ignoring me, hurting me emotionally if i didn't do something she thought i should or humiliating me sometimes in public while i was there but usually through talking about me to others. Looking back on it all now its as if she was a secret spy to infiltrate and sabotage. She love bombed me at the start then went 180 degrees - started swearing at me every morning when i tried to wake her up - (she would sleep in a lot). My church was the hammer that drove the final nail into my marriage, my pastors broke my heart completely in two, my wife started it but my church took to it with an axe. They even tried to force me to go to secular anger management/family violence counselling, they suggested another counsellor and told her that i was an abusive husband BEFORE i went to my first session. How they treated me was so unethical, unbiblical and brutal.
Thank you RBC Casa Grande for enlightening us on this topic that is plainly common sense (women sin just like men) but culturally so controversial in this day and age. A very good discussion.
No one talks about the emotional abuse of men in marriage, I experienced plenty but was gaslighted so much that I was very confused a long time because I was so scared of divorce. Ultimately I got some physical abuse sent my way as well.
BOOK: www.amazon.com/Abusive-Wife-Ministering-Contentious-Woman-ebook/dp/B08LP8GKLL/ MINISTRY: www.compassionatecounselors.com/ The modern church is facing an epidemic of abusive wives. Aggravating this crisis is that few pastors have the courage to preach on this sin. Yet how will the church bring women to the gospel if it is unwilling to preach to their sin? Dr. David Edgington and RBC's pastor Greg Thornberg talk about his important book, The Abusive Wife.
I’m glad I came across this. It is now more prevalent.
