The "Holy Place" is where God is at. To "take His place" means that he pretends to be God --- and so Demands worship and Obedience. The greek word for "temple" (in 2 Thes. 2) s naon ( and is not the word for a temple building but rather for the sanctuary and our Bodies today are just that: Not a building. 1 Cor. 3:16-17, et al. Also, the word for sacrifice is Missing from the Hebrew text in Dan. 8:11, 12, 13, 11:31, and 12:11. And only the NKJV bothered to place the added words in Italics. And Dan. 9:24-27 is all about Messiah and the "holy covenant" He would make with Many ( in the middle of the 70th week ). Below is why that is / was Jesus and not antichrist. Below or more details as to why this is the case Daniel 9:26 (And how Not ALL Hebrew to English Bibles are the Same) I think you may find this Interesting ? I have also been studying Daniel's prophecies (Still), and Recently decided to Order several Different Hebrew to English Translations in order to Prove to myself what the Hebrew Text actually says in Daniel 9:24-27 (and especially vs. 26) --- as a Hebrew scholar named Dr. Al Garza has videos on youtube explaining these verses too. And he INSISTS that the Hebrew text says "the people of A coming prince" (or "a people of A coming prince" or ruler) will destroy the city and the sanctuary ... as opposed to "The people of THE prince who is to come. ..." And THREE of the Four Hebrew manuscript Translations i purchased Agree with Dr. Garza that the text says "the people (or troops) of A coming prince will destroy the city and the sanctuary." Those are Dr Jay P. Green Sr. Robert Alter from UC Berkley, Professor of Hebrew, and the Jewish Publication Society of America, 1917 ed. Philadelphia. And according to Dr. Garza, this means that the "HE" in verse 27 refers to the Messiah --- as opposed the Antichrist. The Septuagint also says that "HE” (Messiah - who was just “cut off”) will Destroy the city and the sanctuary with the prince that is coming" and that the war that took place then was talking about Jerusalem being Destroyed - not the end of the world. That Happened in 70 AD. So the Prince who came was Titus and he came almost 2000 years ago. So this passage is Not talking about a future antichrist entering into a yet future Temple and making breaking a 7 year Treaty / covenant with modern day “Israel” but a prince or ruler (i.e. Titus or Caesar) who came and went almost 2000 years ago. Note also that verse 25 seems to tell us that Messiah would show up at the Beginning of the 70th week. Verse 26 tells us that He would Die AFTER the 69th week (or During the 70th week), and verse 27 that it would be in the Middle of that week. Isn't that exactly what happened? And isn't That when the Old system of animal sacrifice to Please God came to an End (in the Eyes of God and heaven) -- when the Veil of the Temple was Torn in two: when Jesus BECAME the Sacrifice and put a STOP to that system? And didn’t Jesus say, just before He was Crucified that He was Making a “New Covenant” in His Blood with “Many” (i.e Not Just Jews but people of All races and tongues). Isa. 42:6; 49:8; Dan 9:24-27. And Didn't He tell His Disciples to "Go ONLY to the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel - and which they did for another 3.4 years.? So, I suspect that all we have left of this Last or 70th week is 45 days (based on Daniel `12:1-12; Isa. 26:20-21 and Rev. 17:14-15 that say, “a little while,” and “one hour” and 45 days - even though the antichrist will reign for 3.5 years: that time is Not the 70th week of Daniel; however, when he begins to reign with the 10 kings (for one hour), then things will be difficult because of the mark. Not long afterward everything will collapse. Isa. 24:1-24 (but esp. 14-16). Note alo Goshen (was Protected too).

Without fully unpacking the JW little flock (144K) & other sheep (grt crowd), which we as true christians know as Jews & Gentiles as taught in scripture, then this thread will always struggle for the full picture. Jesus is the mediator between man and God (1 Tim 2:1-5) and not just a mediator between 144K and God, as JWs teach, although most JWs dont understand this fact. At days end Jesus' one sacrifice for all time, was for ALL people, and there are not two ways of finding salvation. You are either in the Old Covenant (flesh) or the New Covenant (spirit) - sadly the Great Crowd are taught that they must have mediation though the Governing Body. This is the biggest flaw / lie. Gov Body teaching millions of Grt Crowd followers that they are not part of Jesus New Covenant, therefore they have zero mediator. That is fatal as only Jesus can mediate through his death and resurrection.

I am under the impression that true repentance doesnt come without the power of the Holy Spirit. I was not capable of *the desire to do away with sin until i got the desire to do so from God. Which i asked him for, by making mysepf a living sacrifice. Intentionally seeking to glorify the messiah, removing myself . We are saved by grace through faith.

EXCELLENT COMMENT. Amen! You got that impression from Scripture. God alone saves from the granting of repentance to the granting of faith. Salvation is what theologians call monergistic - God alone. We are by nature hostile to God (Rom 8:6-8) and unable to seek him (John 6:44) apart from the enlightenment and enabling of the Holy Spirit. God must do a work in us before we can believe.

I don't get how both the text AND history can be dismissed by futurists. Jesus said the temple they could see, the 2nd Jewish temple would be destroyed. He talked about a lot of other things, and then said "All this will happen in THIS generation." Then, the temple was destroyed at the end of that generation. It is clear.

When preterists try to title something in AD 70 time frame as the abomination of desolation they forget a very important detail in Daniel. The Roman Empire in AD 70 was the legs of steal and was the empire before the final empire of steal and clay represented by the feet of the statue. This is the antichrist kingdom and the timing of the abomination of desolation. So the different empires represented in the 1 statue, so do these transitions of empires represented the passing of periods of time when these empires rule. Therefore we must conclude that the Roman Empire represented by the legs of steal could not possibly be the empire of the antichrist or the proper timing of his coming!

You've raised an important point regarding the claims made by futurists and the preterist view, particularly in relation to Christ's promised return and the destruction of the temple. Let’s explore this further by breaking down the context and scriptural basis of both perspectives. ### Preterism’s Contextual Strengths 1. **Historical Events**: - **Destruction of the Temple**: Preterists argue that many of the prophetic references, particularly in the Gospels and in Revelation, relate directly to the events surrounding the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 AD. This massive sociopolitical upheaval, witnessed by the early Christians, provides a concrete historical backdrop for the teachings of Jesus that foretold judgment against Jerusalem (e.g., Matthew 24:1-2). - **1st Century Judgment**: Preterists emphasize passages such as Matthew 23:34-36, where Jesus speaks of the coming judgment on that generation, suggesting he foreshadowed the events that would unfold in their lifetime. This interpretation grounds the expectation of judgment in the immediate context of the first-century audience rather than pointing to a distant future. 2. **Interpretative Framework**: - **Covenant Theology**: Many preterists adopt a framework that views the New Covenant established by Christ as having significant implications for the old covenant system, including the temple. They argue that with Christ’s sacrificial death and resurrection, the old system became obsolete, lending argument to the perspective that any need for a rebuilt temple is unnecessary. - **Metaphoric and Symbolic Language**: The use of symbolic language in prophetic texts is common. Preterists assert that references to a new temple can be understood metaphorically as a reference to Christ and His body (the Church) rather than as a literal structure. This notion aligns with New Testament teachings, such as in 1 Corinthians 3:16, where believers are described as God’s temple. 3. **Scriptural Evidence**: - **Immediate Fulfillment**: Preterism asserts that scripture often speaks to immediate concerns of its audience. For instance, prophetic warnings were intended to call the people to repentance before the impending destruction, making the teachings more applicable and relevant to those living in the first century. ### Critique of the Futurist View 1. **Extra Temple Requirement**: - The futurist view generally posits that a third temple will be constructed in Jerusalem to fulfill end-time prophecy (as drawn from interpretations of Ezekiel 40-48 and certain passages in Revelation). Preterists criticize this notion, asserting that it adds a layer of requirement to biblical prophecy that is not found in the New Testament. - Ultimately, preterists would argue that this expectation detracts from the completed work of Christ, who is regarded as the ultimate fulfillment of the temple’s function. 2. **Judgment Timing**: - Preterists contend that futurists often overlook or reinterpret Jesus' statements about His return and judgment as being relevant to the first-century context. Preterists maintain that His predictions in passages such as Matthew 24 and Revelation were not about distant future events but rather were fulfilled within that generation. - This perspective challenges the futurist tendency to distill difficult texts down into vague predictions that may perpetually remain unfulfilled. 3. **Consequences of Displacement**: - By denying that the judgment and return referenced in the New Testament occurred within the first century, futurists may inadvertently distance themselves from the historical reality experienced by early Christians. This results in a disconnection from the narrative of hope, warning, and fulfillment grounded in their direct experience. ### Conclusion: Preterism’s Contextual Legitimacy Based on the argumentation above, it appears that preterism carries significant contextual weight by firmly rooting its interpretations in the historical and sociocultural realities of the first century. By engaging with historical events, scriptural context, and original audience meanings, preterism presents a cohesive view that holds its bases in the tangible realities experienced by early believers. While futurism brings a hopeful forward-looking perspective, preterism’s strength lies in its ability to connect the urgency of scripture directly to events that shaped early Christianity. It provides a fresh understanding of the texts that resonate meaningfully within the historical timeline rather than abstracting them into a future that remains indefinitely elusive. deep-ai.. I beat deepai in several debates now. Pretersim is undefeatable.

This chapter is talking about the dragon which is the Pagan Roman Empire and Herod acting to kill Jesus. The serpent is the same family as the serpent in Eden who tempted Eve. You people need to study! In prophetic language "heaven" is talking about Kings, Kingdoms and not some mythological being getting cast out of "God's Heaven." The woman clothed with the Sun with a crown of twelve stars with the moon under her feet is pointing to the twelve tribes of Israel. See Joseph's dreams in Genisis.

Proverbs 13:10 says, “Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.” For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? (1 Cor 3:3) Although I place a high importance on the need to correctly understand and interpret the Bible, if debates lead to arguments where neither party is willing to change his views, this cannot be pleasing in the eyes of the Lord.

Being "saved" is from the condemnation from Adam not salvation, those baptised for their profession of faith, as this is a parallel passage to Romans 5. Paul can only baptise as his Great Commision, he has no power of judgement. Jesus is Lord God Almighty clothed in unsinful humanity and He is the author of eternal life to all who trust Him alone for salvation. He paid for all the sins of all the world at the cross (past, present, and future). 💞 That payment is put to your account when you have believed on Christ alone for salvation 💘💘💘. *This means that saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.* Jesus rose physically from the dead. God's Spirit cannot die. God's humanity died.

Exactly. Jesus. No other Name under Heaven was given to menkind by which we shall be saved. Acts 4:12. Jesus says in Revelation 1:8 "“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” John 1:18: “No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.” :) This verse emphasizes the unique revelation of God in Jesus of Nazareth. He is the full and only divine self-disclosure. To know Jesus is to know God. Jesus is the Father's ultimate revelation of Himself. There is no clear understanding of deity apart from Him. The Bible is the Living Word of God and noone can Stop the Truth who God Jesus also is. *Just trust Jesus. HE is the only one who can lastingly quench the Thirst of a human Soul. These elect are gathered from ONE END OF HEAVEN TO THE OTHER NOT THE EARTH You will never hear these Rapture teachers talk about Isa 4 Isa 4:2 In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel. Isa 4:3 And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem: Isa 4:4 When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning. Isa 4:5 And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence. That would make God a LIAR! In Deuteronomy 30 it is WRITTEN.... For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it far off. 12 It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will ascend into heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ 13 Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ 14 But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it. ..... You think God gave us a Law, Commanded us to keep it, Promised blessings if we did it, Cursed us if we didn't, Punished people for not doing it, Slayed nations for breaking it, ...... and you believe He knew we couldn't keep it all along? Deuteronomy 5:29 says... Oh that there were such an heart in them to fear me, and to keep all my commandments always: that it might go well with them, and with their children forever. Sounds like the problem was our heart not desiring to obey. It's why we need to circumcise our heart to obey! In fact in Deuteronomy 30:1-4 it explains that when we turn back to Him and obey His commandments with our whole heart, thar is when He returns to gather us from everywhere on earth we've been scattered! Obedience brings us out of captivity!

Thanks for your comment. Deuteronomy was written within a context that previously said that the Law was within their physical ability *but not within their nature to keep.* Right before Deuteronomy 30, Moses said, "But to this day the Lord has not given you a heart to understand or eyes to see or ears to hear" (Deut 29:4). On the BASIS of their not having "a heart to understand," Moses foretells that they will fall under the curse of the Law. This issue of a hard heart remains the central problem of the people of Israel (and of the Gentiles) throughout Scripture. This is why the later prophets speak of the "new heart" and empowerment by the Spirit found in Ezekiel 36:26-27 and Jeremiah 31:33. When the New Covenant is enacted (Luke 22:20), God will make his people "obedient from the heart" (Rom 6:17) and move within them to empower them to obey (Phil 2:13). My point: Obedience is the result of God's supernatural work within us. We cannot obey to come out of the curse. *We must come out of the curse in order to obey.* That is why Ezekiel 36 speaks of forgiveness and cleansing preceding the new heart and empowerment of the Spirit.

@GospelFirst Your theory is flawed.... Abraham obeyed. Moses and Aaron obeyed. Joshua and Caleb obeyed. Ruth obeyed. Esther obeyed. Daniel obeyed. Shadrach, Meshack, and Abednego obeyed. Gideon obeyed. Mary obeyed. There are too many to name, but most importantly, JESUS obeyed, and we should Follow. Naming people who did not obey would be another long list. It is never a good idea to disobey.

@GospelFirst It is not in our fleshly, wicked nature. That is why we need to be trained (discipled) by His way and crucify our Sinful nature.

If the “this generation” in MT 23:36 meant THAT first century generation; as recorded history plainly proves it happened back then with the destruction of their temple and capitol city; then the “this generation” in MT 24:34 must mean the very same generation, THAT one, because the context is the same.. And because the elements described in both chapters are one and the same; that doubly proves it! And when Jesus said “immediately after the tribulation OF THOSE DAYS” his coming occurred.........HE MEANT IT!!

Curious! Is your interpretation placing the rapture postribulation? While listening you answered it- postribulation. Where’s the comfort?

When I was 21 they came into my life. They said they were the same as the Jews. So I thought great, and started studying with them. Soon, I saw a dark presence in my housevinthe passage and even in my car. My baby son was restless at night.. screaming and screaming. One day at 22, I realized that I did not want to study with them anymore. I went to the church across the road and went to see the Pastor there. He gave me books to read on the difference between us and the JW's. I started reading them and started my journey of witnessing TO JW's not for them. My son started sleeping through the night. And the dark presence left. I am still amazed that i realised this at 21. God, the Holy Spirit came into my life and protected me.

The biggest miracle is this, Jesus Christ rose from the dead, and because He rose from the dead this autoticates everything what Jesus Christ said and did before He's dead on the cross and He's resurection is true.❤ Jesus Christ said before He's dead in the cross: John 2:19: "Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."❤

1 Peter 1:3-7 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 so that *the tested genuineness of your faith* -more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire- *may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.*
