Thank you for the instructions 👍
My 1999 Pajero 3500 V6 SOHC has the same construction of the power steering belt.
I had to turn the spanner bolt clockwise, right turn, to increase the tension.
It did not help enough, the belt kept slipping (belt is 12 years old)
So I did replace the belt today.
As instructed in your other video "update on power steering belt".
It is easy, you do not have to remove the fan for replacing the belt.
I cleaned the pullyes / wheels before mounting the new belt, I hope
problems with slipping will be over now.....

Ah brilliant. I am glad that it helped. Cleaning the pulleys is a good thing to do. Like you said it helps the slippage. I need to replace mine this year. They are about 4 yrs old and are getting noisy. If there is anything else I can help with let me know :-)

@@wolf_kiff_workshop Hello, unfortunately, it was not the end of the story....
After replacing the PS belt and after that the tensioner pullye of this belt, there still is a noise 😢
So, I think the problem is in the alternator belt , the pullye of the alternator belt, or.....maybe the waterpump ???
Can you make a video of dismounting the alternator belt and pullye ?
The PS belt and airco belt have both a tensioner pullye that can be adjusted by a clearly visible tensioner bolt.
The pullye of the alternator belt has no such bolt, or am I overlooking something ?
Should I dismount the skidplate first, and acces it from below ?
Your help would be highly appreciated !

Hi. I am sorry to hear that. I am working at the moment but I can do a video when I am home.
On mine there is an alternator belt tensioner similar to the AC and power steering ones but it is on the bottom between the crank pulley and the alternator pulley. I accessed mine from the top but I had the air filter box out of the way at the time. It was a tad fiddly but I hate taking the sump guard off 😂

There is a part of this video where the alternator belt tensioner is visible. The adjuster for it is facing down to the ground. Both 12 or 14mm I believe

You legend! just wanted to say thank you from down in Aus i have a 93 Pajero we call a NH here in Aus.... 14 mm socket and spanner 5 mins work and im back in business. That has got to be the cheapest noise fix ive ever had. My car was labouring hard when turning with low revs in the bush. Thanks again, I owe you a beer brother!

@@benjarvie1072 sorry mate. I have only just seen this. No mine hasn't got rear diff lock. I just have 2hi, 4hi and 4 low with an a/t button. I think in 4 low it locks the transfer box rather than the diffs

Thanks for the video! I think I will need to replace the thermostat and one of the thermostat housing bolts is in line with the Power Steering Belt. So I will want to lossen the belt a little to get it out of the way and I wasn't sure how to do it.

Do you loose the one middle ball and then you loosen the big bolt?

    • @wolf_kiff_workshop
      @wolf_kiff_workshop  ปีที่แล้ว

Hi, yes you loosen the nut on the front of the pulley / wheel and then the bolt to the side of it. They are both 14mm I believe. After I finish work I will try to do a short to show you.
I hope that this has helped
