How to Adjust the Steering box on a Mitsubishi Shogun Sport / Pajero / Montero

Note After adjustment DO NOT FORGET to re tighten the lock nut on the steering box

Awesome video mate i have a 2000 Mitsubishi Challenger diesel and it fixed my wandering steering mate, was about to replace all wheel bearings , tie rods and ball joints saved me 100's in parts

For longetivety of the box you need to adjust only when the wheels are straight.

My Shogun Sport has a "cracking" noise on full hard lock. Would this be the torsion bars? What needs to be done?

That may be one of your ball joints on the steering linkage or on the upper or lower wishbones. The torsion bars would be more noisy over bumps or uneven ground I think but I am searching for a similar noise myself. I will keep u updated

Also the best way to check would be to jack up the truck and put on stands, then put the jack under the lower arm to release the tension and then check for any free play in the wheel. Or noises 👍

It was ball joints.. I just replaced all four to make sure no more issues 👍

I have one of these but its a 2001 model,its red and it has off road tires.

Awesome. How do you find it? I have off road tyres for mine now. I am planning on a 2"lift next so hopefully the tow bar will clear better when i am off road

What size tyres do you have fitted?
I'm running 275/65/18 Discoverer by Cooper tyres.

@damage1_1 I am running 245/70R 16 road tyres or 265/75 r16s when I am off road which gives me another Inch ground clearance while off road now. I think that's right. I'll have 2 check in the morning
