Hahahah i only just did all my belts a month ago and the idler pulley , All this made a big difference to noise . Now all you here is that sweet 3.2 diesel noise 👍 Great informative post mate
The Aircon belt likes to make noise when it feels like it. The alternator belts have to be a matched pair. As you can buy 2 of the same size belt, butbthey can be slightly different. Making it so one will be a little looser than the other.
do you use a 3rd party belt or og mitsubishi parts? not sure if i should go to mitsubishi or mechanic i got a quote for 780 AUD here in Mexico through Mitsu...they told me its a kit
@@budget4x4life I'm not sure to be fair...I think my mechanic told me the full set and Mitsubishi gave me a quote for a belt kit since not just belts have to be replaced but also tensioners and pulleys. And it's based on my 6g75 engine. I bought my Montero 2nd hand but not sure the kms are correct since there is not much history...and I'm at 82k kms (2nd owner)...I'm going on a long road trip 5k to the USA soon so thought might as well change it now just in case.
Just a heads up, stick to v-belts on the Paj. Those toothed belts were fitted to our gen 3 once.. Big mistake. Constant noise and then one snapped (didn't notice) , followed shortly by the 2nd one. Luckily limp mode immediately saved the motor.
