No it's not! Don't lie to me!
"Slippy's Dead!"
"NICE!"
Fucking got me with that reference lmao
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I honestly believe that Starfox 64 video by terminal montage is my favorite youtube video of all time.
Man, I remember getting the video tape that showed off Starfox 64 and the introduction of the Rumble Pack. The hype we felt as teenagers was amazing. This game will ALWAYS have a place in my heart, the sounds, the graphics and the levels are just timeless.
100% dude. Me and my big bro became legitimate junkies on this game
24:35 - It's 2024 right now. This game was made in 1997.
How does this whole moment, 27 years later, remain so unbelievably satisfying to see every time it happens?
I remember the first time I did that. When "HIT+50" popped up, I was almost as blown away as the station was.
"NO. HIT THE BRAAAAAAAKES."
"'They all live' was not an option" lmao
20:40 "I'm Scottish and I'm not allowed to say the name of this stage"
So annoyed I was unable to catch this live at 5 in the morning but good to know the whole team DIES for the high score
This run was everything I've ever wanted to see in SF64 all culminated. Thank you so much Adamx and GDQ! So many hundreds of hours playing Lylatwars through my life and I was grinning ear to ear for the whole run ❤❤❤
Thank you so much!!! ❤❤❤
The commentary during Area 6 was EPIC! You could tell he really does love that stage! One of the best levels in any game after one of the best explosions in any game in one of THE best games of all time!
SF64 Speedrunning is one of those things that LOOKS easy until you do it.
It's like "Well it's a rail shooter how much faster can you beat it anyway?" and then suddenly you're introduced to crazy tricks you've never seen before.
Thank you for this... since I was NEVER able to beat this game I never knew how it ended lol
Dude Argick's vibe is absolutely electric, what a top level hype man for such an awesome run.
This was a great run. This game is still so nostalgic to me.
this game is my entire childhood and being able to watch a speedrun of it and realize how much love it gets still to this day warms my heart
That Area 6 run was a work of art.
I loved this game as a kid and I still adore it to this day. No Star Fox game ever came close to this one.
....oh BILL Smith! Jesus, I didn't see that all this time.
I always thought it was for Bill Pullman who played the President
There were so many low key good jokes made by everyone in this run. The 4/5 shadow, the Bill Smith, Macbeth, Luther Andross. Easily one of my favorite runs ever.
love the "hello papa" terminalmontage reference
Geologist here, letting the wisecracks slide this time...
I'm so sorry XD
You mean letting them landslide.
25:20 funny how the tip of the barrel uses the same texture as the wheels... with rotation and everything
love this game so much
Star fox 64 is still so impressive as a game
This took me 2 fake sick days as a kid to beat the real ending. Love to see it in 40 mins!
A great run! Remember playing this game at Walmart demo stations as a kid. Some fun little memories.
Man I love star fox 64. Used to playthrough it at least once every day after school when I was a kid. Awesome run!
I miss 35 minutes ago, when I thought I was pretty good at this game… excellent run :D
this is probably one of the best games of all time
Funniest part is this route fights upgraded Star Wolf without fighting the regular versions.
Meaning that their injuries are there for no reason.
It's so funny that Star Wolf never bothers you in the Hard route until Venom.
what an awesome run to watch. thanks so much to adam and the couch for the gameplay and commentary
What an awesome run and awesome group of guys! One of my favorite GDQ runs of all time, don't think I stopped smiling the whole time!
That was a lot of fun, great run. I forgot how much I loved this game.
Oh hell yeah, I grew up on this game! Didn’t expect to see it ran here and I’m so excited
Argick's shoutcast flow on Area 6 was worth the price of admission
"Location confirmed. Sending some pies."
"WHAT'S HE SAYING?"
Argick channeled his inner eminem for this one, sick job lads
That was honestly so good 😂
His Venom 1 commentary is as good as the best I've heard like this.
31:51 Luther Andross ahahahahaha. I love this game so much. Great run boys.
YOUUU'LL NEVER DEFEAAAT....AAAANDROOOOOOSSS
They cut away before General Pepper could comment on the score...
"Whaaaaaaaaaat?!?"
35:00 Pretty sure the marriage of brain surgery and rocket science is what created Kim Possible.
Epic comment
I love this game! This is my Childhood favorite game.
I love this game. What a fun run!!!
Can not wait for this game for the eventual N64 mini
Great job!
I still love how Star Fox 64 absolutely ripped off the UFO battle from Independence Day
Oh im playing this tonight 😂 well done man
Fantastic energy from the runner! ❤
I loved this game.
Great run! I have always wondered how many points were possible in this game. Now I know
Dude was very good and had good stage presence
Argick's commentary is almost more entertaining than the run itself XD
13:03 Hilarious to say "legally distinct" when Star Fox 64 had to be renamed "Lylat Wars" in some PAL territories because Nintendo thought it sounded too close to the German company StarVox
It's weird, SF64 is one of my favorite games and I've beat it so many times...but I've never paid attention to the story heh.
SF64 like I've never seen it played, and my friends and I played this A LOT. Think I'll have to try some high score runs, I remember being impressed when we broke 1400 and 1500 thinking we were top teir
Great run Adam. I remember you came into my twitch stream where I was trying to get 1738 hits for my "Fetty Wap" Challenge. Humbly admitting you were the high score world record holder at the time (This was awhile ago) but also hyping me up. Keep up the good work!
Impressive
32 mins is so impressive
I played this game so much as a kid but I have no memory of a tank/train section at all!
Find it ironic the level that slippy is normally supposed to crash land in is the level that hes the only one to be present at the end
34:50 What in Farscapes name is this boss fight oO
Hello, papá!
"A title screen you might not recognize..."
Pssh plebs... ;)
Even though I wasn't great at Star Fox or Star Fox64 they were still 1 of my favorite games to play.
Adam is PhD. He's extremely intelligent and one of the best players of Star Fox 64. What a great run. It was a pleasure
Can someone explain what is so sussy about Peppys return from Venom?
The fact that only Peppy returned from the mission and James allegedly died... the implication is that Peppy killed/betrayed James
So Peppy went with James to try and defeat Andross. During the opening text explaining the story, they say “Peppy barely escaped Venom”. But there’s no description about how James died and whether Peppy played a factor in his death.
you're a legend! such a great run with awesome commentary
I'm not sure I follow either. James, Peppy, and Pigma were the original team. Pigma sold them out. James died while Peppy got away. Fairly sure the manual and the Nintendo Guide say it. In game, Pigma's taunt of "Daddy screamed real good before he died" isn't just a taunt, but that he was there.
It’s not sus exactly. Peppy Hare, Pigma Dengar, and James McCloud were the original members of the Star Fox team. But Pigma Dengar betrayed his compatriots to Andross and that is how Fox’s father died. Somehow Peppy managed to escape the trap or not fall into it. During the fights with Star Wolf in the game Pigma will specifically target Peppy.
You’ll never defeat Andross!
Better than the last Star Wars film's
How come the area 6 score could go over 511 with the game capping the score?
So I was playing on the 1.0 version of the game. In the 1.1 version (which is what the NSO version is) the game will stop counting up after 511.
The score counter is capped at 511 in the PAL version as well as all NTSC Versions that were not bundled with the rumble pack originally. That includes the NTSC version sold as Players choice.
Japanese version does not have the limit. NTSC with rumble pack also not.
If you go over the limit, your end score however will get messed up.
256 Points will be removed from both your total score and the level you got over 511.
However, the Ranking will still be in the right order, like the true Score.
Even though the displayed score will be different.
lol i didn’t even know you could get more than 4 bombs
B B B B B B B B B
Zoness' boss very very quickly teaches you that in particular.
Argick is the winner on this run
Ningun Star Fox consiguio superar al original de super famicom.
You are becoming more like your father... So yeah my father killed slippy too, no wonder
"kill the animals"
..........the numbers....they don't align.....D:
The more runners say the word "cutscene", the more i'm convinced they have no idea what that word actually means.
In the moment, words are hard 😂😂😂
Semantic satiation. Semantic satiation. Semantic satiation.
To a speed runner a cutscene is any time you don't move the game progression along. Loading screens are exempt because they are loading the next area.
@@adamX0315 Most people watching knew what you meant. Public speaking is hard, much less doing it to that amount of people and while speedrunning. Great run!
we decide what words mean when we use them, we are not bound by your interpretation nor the dictionary. this is how language has always worked.
