My kit contains Liquid latex , Scab blood , Some eyeshadow palettes from LA colors $1.50 each ( very pigmented can be found at your local Dollar general ) ( can also be used for bruises , dirt , to look tired ) 6 make up brushes Broadway powder cheek pallet in spring ( comes with 3 blushes , and one highlighter ) Wet n wild contour pallet Quite a few lipsticks A cheap non shimmery bronzer I use for a ( dirt affect ) Concealer of course Also just things I've collected from little Halloween makeup kits that my family buy and don't use all the stuff so I gather it before they just throw it away

I never really knew if it would be worth it to get some of those things, especially since I'm still underaged and my mom probably wouldn't let me get most of them because they're "too expensive, I wouldn't use them anyways, blablabla.." but if I start off with the more simple things, maybe get more into it and discover it as a cool new hobby or even something I'd want to make into a career, that would probably convince her. The "basic kit" (all the basic things you called out) would be around 80-100 bucks for me, luckily I know a great online retailer here in Germany that carries a lot of the products and is actually quite inexpensive and reliable. This really made me want to try out SFX makeup since it showed me how easy it can be to get things done. So, again, thank you so much for encouraging not only me, but all the other people watching this video to try out what you're doing and giving the best, and also some very affordable, options.

It might be worth noting that vegetarians may choose not to use FX gelatin since it's made from various animal parts , in which case they should use 3rd degree instead. Idk that's probably stating the obvious though
If you're vegetarian you could use agar agar i haven't seen it been used in special effects or tried it myself but it is very similar to gelatin and is made from a plant.
athena atkinson from my understanding, vegetarian is not eating meat, but one might still consume animal products (milk, cheese, eggs), vegan is not consuming any animal products at all
Yes, a doge is the best assistant. You can find them in shelters, in dog parks, hiding behind couches during thunderstorms, and in any corners where there's weird lint balls for them to eat. Watch out for their doge hair, because it'll get stuck in a lot of your FX materials... unless you're going for a beastly kinda look. Doges cost approximately 82,994 doge bones (don't know the US conversion, sorry) and my favorite brand of doge is all of them.

I really want to be a special Fx artist but I don't have the right equipment to practice with at the moment I'm just using tissues and glue which is turning out great but doesn't give the most realistic look of course so this video was great to me the only problem is I live in England and struggle to get most of the specific pieces of equipment without paying tons of money I also have no clue as to how to get into this line of work as my teacher has only recommended fine art to me as a GCSE if anyone has any helping tips I would love for you to reply to this. comment with them thx 😋
I'd recommend taking media as well if that's an option and then following it onto a level. It would be a good idea to start looking at universities/beauty schools to see what subjects they require :)
Hi, I did art at GCSE. Went to 6th form, wasn't for me so went to college to study level 3 theatrical makeup. When the course is complete the qualification gained will be equivalent to 3 a levels giving me the option to go to university if I desire. I found doing art helpful as I'm not being taught how to do life drawings or sketches at college and one of the universities I'm looking at requires that so by doing art at GCSE has helped me to be able to do these sketches In my own time. In October, my school's drama club members volunteer as scarers in a local haunted corn maze. The girl who did FX makeup for the scarers just graduated and FX makeup has always been interesting to me, and I think with enough practice, I could be doing FX makeup for the scarers this year. This video was SOOO helpful!

Hi! I have a question about colored contact lenses, and can't find any details on your channel. I need prescription lenses to be able to.. you know. see. I really want to wear contacts for fx but I don't know where to find safe lenses that have creepy effects but also have a prescription. Can ya help a Zombae out?
Some eye doctors can give you ones to match your prescription. Or there's a book called special effects makeup for stage and screen the 2nd edition that has information on contacts and has other useful information that can be used so you're not just paying for the contact info. A TH-camr called Freakmo also has info on contacts.

If you are looking for a gore Alice in wonderland look, I know Kat Sketch did an Alice in Wonderland inspired look where she did a look as though as she was attacked by the Queen of Hearts, if you want a more Gothic look, I would recommend American McGee's Alice.

It is a *very* long story that I both don't really want to re-live and get into and probably can't for legal reasons but to fast-forward through a series of very bad experience with the company that began quite some time before the final blow, it ended with them hiring someone else to do one of my very specific looks (one that used to be on a giant banner of theirs for conventions) at a very prestigious event without permission, credit or compensation. They only acknowledged it after they were pestered repeatedly by instagram users and only 'apologized' publicly on their page, never privately. You can interpret that how you wish. If I could only tell the whole story, or show the emails, I think it would paint the full picture for you very quickly, but I obviously can't. I only included that I don't support Mehron in the video because I wanted to give straight-forward disclosure as to why I recommended Kryolan, when those were the only two brand options. There is another FX brand I don't support for a similar reason but I didn't mention it because it was never vital when explaining my choices in this video. I wanted to be honest, as always, but didn't want to stir it all up again which is why I just made it a quick mention in text. I understand those who didn't follow me on instagram around that time wouldn't already have an idea of why and would be curious, but with all this said, I'd prefer people focused on anything else in the video, besides those few words, because there's a lot of important positive information in there to talk about & much more useful than this, which will unfortunately never really be made right at this point.

Thank you so much for making this video! I never really knew if it would be worth it to get some of those things, especially since I'm still underaged and my mom probably wouldn't let me get most of them because they're "too expensive, I wouldn't use them anyways, blablabla.." but if I start off with the more simple things, maybe get more into it and discover it as a cool new hobby or even something I'd want to make into a career, that would probably convince her. The "basic kit" (all the basic things you called out) would be around 80-100 bucks for me, luckily I know a great online retailer here in Germany that carries a lot of the products and is actually quite inexpensive and reliable. This really made me want to try out SFX makeup since it showed me how easy it can be to get things done. So, again, thank you so much for encouraging not only me, but all the other people watching this video to try out what you're doing and giving the best, and also some very affordable, options.

It might be worth noting that vegetarians may choose not to use FX gelatin since it's made from various animal parts , in which case they should use 3rd degree instead. Idk that's probably stating the obvious though
If you're vegetarian you could use agar agar i haven't seen it been used in special effects or tried it myself but it is very similar to gelatin and is made from a plant.
Or find halal gelatin it just means it doesn't use the animal bones

Yes, a doge is the best assistant. You can find them in shelters, in dog parks, hiding behind couches during thunderstorms, and in any corners where there's weird lint balls for them to eat. Watch out for their doge hair, because it'll get stuck in a lot of your FX materials... unless you're going for a beastly kinda look. Doges cost approximately 82,994 doge bones (don't know the US conversion, sorry) and my favorite brand of doge is all of them.

I really want to be a special Fx artist but I don't have the right equipment to practice with at the moment I'm just using tissues and glue which is turning out great but doesn't give the most realistic look of course so this video was great to me the only problem is I live in England and struggle to get most of the specific pieces of equipment without paying tons of money I also have no clue as to how to get into this line of work as my teacher has only recommended fine art to me as a GCSE if anyone has any helping tips I would love for you to reply to this. comment with them thx 😋
I'd recommend taking media as well if that's an option and then following it onto a level. It would be a good idea to start looking at universities/beauty schools to see what subjects they require :)
Hi, I did art at GCSE. Went to 6th form, wasn't for me so went to college to study level 3 theatrical makeup. When the course is complete the qualification gained will be equivalent to 3 a levels giving me the option to go to university if I desire. I found doing art helpful as I'm not being taught how to do life drawings or sketches at college and one of the universities I'm looking at requires that so by doing art at GCSE has helped me to be able to do these sketches In my own time. Hope this helps x

In October, my school's drama club members volunteer as scarers in a local haunted corn maze. The girl who did FX makeup for the scarers just graduated and FX makeup has always been interesting to me, and I think with enough practice, I could be doing FX makeup for the scarers this year. This video was SOOO helpful!

Hi! I have a question about colored contact lenses, and can't find any details on your channel. I need prescription lenses to be able to.. you know. see. I really want to wear contacts for fx but I don't know where to find safe lenses that have creepy effects but also have a prescription. Can ya help a Zombae out?
Some eye doctors can give you ones to match your prescription. Or there's a book called special effects makeup for stage and screen the 2nd edition that has information on contacts and has other useful information that can be used so you're not just paying for the contact info. A TH-camr called Freakmo also has info on contacts.
Lauren Baker I have heard Pinkie Paradise makes good quality coloured contact lenses. I am not sure if they are prescription lenses though.

If you are looking for a gore Alice in wonderland look, I know Kat Sketch did an Alice in Wonderland inspired look where she did a look as though as she was attacked by the Queen of Hearts, if you want a more Gothic look, I would recommend American McGee's Alice.

Is FX gelatin veggie friendly? Just wondering for future reference as I know you can get veggie friendly gelatin for cooking
It isn't usually- I haven't tried veggie friendly gelatin for FX but I'd like to see if it works the same, since I hope to someday only use cruelty-free products.
I believe FX gelatin is mainly pork based

It is a *very* long story that I both don't really want to re-live and get into and probably can't for legal reasons but to fast-forward through a series of very bad experience with the company that began quite some time before the final blow, it ended with them hiring someone else to do one of my very specific looks (one that used to be on a giant banner of theirs for conventions) at a very prestigious event without permission, credit or compensation. They only acknowledged it after they were pestered repeatedly by instagram users and only 'apologized' publicly on their page, never privately. You can interpret that how you wish. If I could only tell the whole story, or show the emails, I think it would paint the full picture for you very quickly, but I obviously can't.
I only included that I don't support Mehron in the video because I wanted to give straight-forward disclosure as to why I recommended Kryolan, when those were the only two brand options. There is another FX brand I don't support for a similar reason but I didn't mention it because it was never vital when explaining my choices in this video. I wanted to be honest, as always, but didn't want to stir it all up again which is why I just made it a quick mention in text. I understand those who didn't follow me on instagram around that time wouldn't already have an idea of why and would be curious, but with all this said, I'd prefer people focused on anything else in the video, besides those few words, because there's a lot of important positive information in there to talk about & much more useful than this, which will unfortunately never really be made right at this point.
