"I struggle with many things, but not vibrato!" 😂 Best intro of 2024 for a lesson yet.
If your having girl problems I feel bad for you son
I got 99 problems, But struggling with vibrato ain't one
There I rephrased the sentence :D
“you’re hitting your face with imaginary balls” 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😭😭😭
... and I thought this was a family show!!!
I hope you make more tutorial videos like this this year! You have a really unique way of explaining things that makes learning violin a bit less scary 😅 I’m gonna go practice now!
me sitting here doing the entire video with the wrong hand:
iNtErEsTiNg title you got there Ray-
I saw many people talking about his title I know me dum but why?😊
@@CharlieLovesRobloxUwU he prob changed it
Bro lol then do u remember the old one lol
Bro knew what he was doing with that title 😭
What does it mean
@@calebrivera1710 I guess the joke kinda got ruined when he changed the title. The original title was "how to be the perfect vibrator"
Sometimes, when I'm doing chores, I log into Tonic, join an open studio, and just leave my phone playing while I do chores. It's like getting a free concert 🎉
Didn't know you could do that. Cool!
I applaud this
brilliant
완전 감사합니다~
Thank you ❤
Great video! Thnks a lot!!
Thank you so much!
Ray you are awesome! Thank you
Thanks! This is exactly what I need!
Ray you a lil freak with that title 😂
Ray did a fly check before going on stage with Elim Chan at the LA Phil. She didn't have a fly. Ray's sense of humor is weird.
@@jameschristiansson3137yeah it's very quirky but he's awesome! Made me want to practice violin again while in school
The title? You mean the entire vid 😂
Thanks for explaining this and making it fun as well!
Thank you very much
It was very helpful
Well explained vibrato 🙏
Ray Chen!! Thank you! You are amazing!!
Thank you so much Master Ray
Have a good day🌈🌈🙏
I have been waiting for this video ❤❤❤
Thank you very much for this Lessing!God bless you!
Thank you!
The title is a bit weird not gonna lie...
IKR
Crazy 💀💀
The chaos that it embodies LMAO
Now that some way to get ppl to practice
😂
From my experience, when students learn wrist vibrato in the third position, after returning to the first position, they often wobble their wrist. I started teaching arm vibrato first, and then, once they understand that vibrato is mainly done through the finger stretch (knuckles), I guide them through these wrist exercises... btw. great video!!
Thank you so much 🎉 I'm gonna go and practice.
謝謝你的教導,抖音。好聰明的方法。❤❤❤
Very nice tutorial! Thanks for sharing! 👍👍
Thanks you very much for the video
Thanks a lot for sharing your technique on vibrato.God bless you.
Amazing, you made learning vibrato so much easier.
Very helpful Ray as always. I think the beauty of vibrato is that it also puts you in a very flexible position where you can land on the right spot of the string to get the best intonation of the note which then becomes enhanced by the additional vibrato added.
Great video…super helpful! 🎉
More videos like this please!!!! ❤
I've never been this early.... Ray, you have all my love and support ❤....thank you so much
Very helpful for starters like my 8-year old daughter! Thank you so much for sharing!😊
Definitely will help me improve my vibrato! Thank you Ray for your time! ❤
Aprendiii!!! Que emoción ,buenas técnicas 💗
please keep uploading such tutorial videos💕💕
Excellent job. Very good teacher. Thanks for the tips
Very happy to have tickets for your concerto Monday in Antwerp, Belgium! See you soon!! ❤❤❤
What a charmer, love the talent, the humour, the fab smile, the enthusiasm, the relatability. I bet some people who follow on TH-cam (etc) & who had no intention of taking up violin playing have done so! 😹 ❤🎉❤
Thanks Ray! This tipps helped me a lot to develop my vibrato. Keep on going, it`s great what you are doing.
Beautiful technique for teaching. Marvelous 👌👌👌👌
This video was really helpful! I violin teacher was trying to show me a technique for vibrato but I couldn't seem to get it. Thank you Ray Chen!
Thanks!
Greetings from Brazil! Good job man, I thank you for this awesome lesson. I hope for more!
Great and informative.
Thank you so much for sharing😊
I literally managed to learn vibrato in 2 days of a practice!
Very helped the "string cleaning" exercise, all is about relaxing the fingers, giving a bit of tension to the strings and getting that "bouncing ball" motion.
That was fast ❤ thank you😊
Thank you so much Ray! Lol I don't know if this tutorial was already in the works, but if you made this video because I suggested a few more basics / intermediate tutorials after you posted the free sheet music in Tonic, thank you so much. ❤️❤️ And if not, thank you so much anyway 😂❤
The slow vibrato where the notes go above and below are very useful if you want to play indian classical repertoire. That sort of sound is very intentional and common in that type of music.
Always my dream to become the greatest vibrator in the world. Thank you Ray for showing me the way.
Thank you, I've also written a request for this topic on the discord server. ❤✨
Thanks Ray 💕
Thank you, Ray for this upload.I've been playing violin for years but for some reason just never cottoned on to getting my vibrato happening. This, really quite simple set of steps, which I WILL do every day, seem to be achievable for me to get a vibrato in my arsenal.
Thanks again,
- Mark, Australia
Bro u new talent thanks
Since I just got my first violin at the ripe age of 34 (after dreaming of it for the past 23 years)... I can't wait to get past the first screeches and learn vibrato with you😂
One of the best explanations out there! These videos are great Ray!
Muy útil, muchas gracias ❤
Best instructional video so far. I have neuropathy in my hands now. Getting my fingers to collapse while sliding back in forth is the hardest for me
Amei as dicas, há anos estou na batalha por um vibrato perfeito 😂
Tkanks you ❤
This tutorial is awesome
Watching your videos inspired me to take up the violin..... I am a week in..... I used to be a professional oboist and went to the Royal College of Music. I am loving being a violinist now. Thank you so much for inspiring me :-)
Thanks for taking time to help us Ray. I appreciate it very much. This video was very helpful. I had a teacher tell me to straighten my fingers out then cave them in. It did not help me at all as to me it feels more like rocking the fingers side to side, keeping them in the same position.
Thanks for the toiletpaper trick😂! Love that. I just used it with a pupil but UNDER the neck. She has very sweaty hands and hat trouble shifting along the neck and got very frustrated about it. The toilet paper solved the problem right away! 🥳🥳🎻🎻🙏🙏🙏🙏
I am confident that we will be able to move the paper ON the fingerboard soon😂. 🙏
🔥thank you 🎉
très clair, merci!
Thanks
Буду пробовать
you have become a master now Now it's time to teach us We are waiting for more educational videos. This is too short. Thank you.
This taught me vibrato!
Great Video!
can you make a tutorial about how to use correctly the bow? i asked many teachers but they didn't were sure because my hand is really big, and knowing you are like the best violinist and have big hands we think you would teach me the perfect technique... hope you see this :)
It takes years
I love this video😂❤ always with humor
Ray! I (and many other people, i think) would be very happy, if you will do video about chords! Thanks!
Wow, a new trailer: Tchaikovsky. It can also show what to do whenever handling string breaks. Also, massive recovery mid section.
Thank you ray chen
Great video
Interesting method 🤭🤭🤭I like the warming up idea 😊
Thank you. Just subbed to you. This is beautiful
Very good👍
Super super super tips
Augustine violinist from Malaysia
mind blowing!
Thank you very much for this information! Now I get to study 😅
My Dad was a fantastic Violinist. He never taught me violin, but he did teach me the fine art of self-depreciation humour (Although, I just wasn't very good at it). He'd have loved your sense of humour!
Is it just me, or does Ray Chen seem like a really solid dude. In that "I'd have a beer with him" kinda way. Anyhoooo, thanks for all the help Ray!
Aí sim 👍 ,violino, é prática.
great quality
i got that tonic today toooo :)
The perfect video to watch before playing a baroque piece!
OMG Ray I'm dead💀💀💀😂
I'm so warped. I've been chuckling to myself about this all day🤣
Good job
Oh hell yes I'm so excited! I'm just about to learn vibrato in my lessons, so this video will give me a huge boost to improving faster 😄
Me too
I finally start to learn vibrato. I was waiting for it for a long time.. (not that long.. I started to learn to play the violin in Feb 2023). And the way my teacher got me practice scales actually was vibrato.. If intonation is good enough.. I can learn vibrato. So it's day 2 since she showed me this knocking motion (cleaning fingerboard method.. Will get a tissue in the future.. Like the idea). But honestly.. My arms hrt.. Poor muscles.. (my arms hurt when I braid my hair.. So I guess it will get better..) yeah looks easy.. Doesn't it.. 😂
Hi, thanks for this good video! I would like to ask when you do vibrato, does the valley in between the index finger and thumb, touch the neck of the violin?
A very sus title but a great video! Glad I didn’t miss the premier
Ray thank you ❤ I think I am going to take my violin out from the case and clean the strings 😅
There are 3 vibrato techniques you need to master to get your performance. This video explains one. Can you do other videos with the other two. I always had the arm technique down and had a master class with Dave Cerutti to improve my hand vibrato. (Every violinist has their own idea of whether the vibrato should be bellow or above the not, I agree with Cerutti it should be above but what really matters is intonation of couse.)
Thank you.
This seems like a really creative and useful way, keep up these tutorials, its an honour to learn from the best.
😂😂Too funny 😂 SIDES HURT! I’m a cellist so even though it would be unrelated to us still this is a hilarious video! Kudos❤
