Is the arrangement too difficult or easy for you? Grab the sheet music here and let me know: downloadtonic.com/Xmasmusic 🎵
(It’s in the Ray Music Arrangements group along with all my other arrangements)
The search doesn't work and the whole groups list doesn't load 😢 bummer. Really like the song and arrangement
Do we need to pay for this app?
@@mymymmm91 it's completely free until now in terms of money. Might cost some nerves to accept the bugs 😉 but the community is super lovely ❤️ worth trying 🙂
@@chrisma3256 Thank you so much!
Hello Ray Chen , I am writing a feature comedy called ' Chiang Gang ' . I would like to use your arrangement for Waltzing Matilda as a theme song . Madame Chiang was a Christian . She was betrayed by the British in 1950 when they recognized the Godless CCP . The first time the Gospels made their way to China was with the Syrian Christians in 732 A.D. then again with the Franciscan Monks in 1249 A.D. . They wrote a book for the Pope called 'Tartar revelations ' .
Today I have a question for you about G.F.Handel 's travels to Italy in 1729 . Did G.F.Handel order a Stradivarius violin ? Who paid for the commission and was it used by Handel to compose and perform 'Messiah' ? When Handel died in 1759 , did King George III use this violin for the Royal Court . He drove his children crazy with too much Baroque ? What happened to this violin ? More questions then answers .
Any comments ?
I am a big fan for your passion for music .
Christ for China , China ....China . Merry CHRISTmass . Christ is LOVE ..... Love Alone Prevails .
Man needs lots more Subscribers during this festive Christmas and also in the future. He is super inspirational
Today, just a single comment
I mention him to several musical aspirational people who want to see what a good classical YT channel should look like..not just music performance but entertainment.. entertainment sells just like movie reaction channels sell.
I second this!!!!!!!!!
I just subbed❤
13:00 if you can not practice this song from now until Christmas. But luckily, you can listen to it from Ray Chen. Happy Christmas
Making the arrangements available on Tonic is so nice! 😄
+ Happy Holidays everyone, for this and next year, no matter what joyful event, and when, you'll be celebrating! 🤗🎆🎊✨
Wow, I am in my sixties, and I was trying to play violin when I was 8 years old....I wish I had a violin teacher as patient and thoroughly explaining like yourself. Maybe I would have finished as an engineer as I am actually am, but I could have had an additional skill, such as playing violin. Now I just listen...
it’s never too late to try something!
Buy a violin. Find a teacher. Practice. The neighbours cat will move out. Then something wonderful will happen. You will make progress and the cat will return. You will make new friends and find an ensemble. You will make nice music and feel good. You will work hard, and only then, people will call you talented.
@@stevev5510 I-m phisically too old. My articulations do not allow the same mobility. My comment was just an appreciation of Ray's teaching talent...
Admiring how cool your sweater looks😂 love all the double stops and arrangement.. not easy though😅
Quite fits the arrangement, too 🙂
Free tutorial plus music sheets...
I love how Maestro Chen makes sure we practice during this Christmas break~~~
ok , after watching all your video's , i have decided to buy an violin !! this 46yrs old philantropist wants to see what all the fuss is about :)))
It was so much fun to watch you teach us how to play the written music and perform the song afterwards. I really appreciate the time!
Took me 3 weeks to sight-real and play "silent night" without the right type of vibrato and double stops. I hope I will get so good one day that I can play this version of "have your self a merry little Xmas" (I started playing 3 months ago and I'm 60)
There are so many versions of Silent Night. In one of my books it's even hard to find an easy and beautiful fingering in my 6th year of having lessons. Played it from another book and it was much easier. For 3 months of playing there are certainly easier Christmas songs
@@chrisma3256 I found one on the web that I can play. It does for most use the first position and no double stops. By far not as nice as the one from ray but at least I can play it.
(I play guitar for 40 years (solo improvisation and every music style from (jazzrock/fusion to hardrock and blues) so I learn probably a bit faster. My fingers are used to grab strings and my ear is trained.
I can also sightread and know basic music theory because I also play some keyboard/piano and as a kid I had piano lessons for 6 years playing classical music. I only play electric violin and want to learn improvising music in the style of f.i. Jean Luc Ponty. (fusion) To learn I am practising fur elise and silent night, improvisation and some scales. Playing music is in my family.
My father played piano and my grandfather played piano in cinema in the times of the silent movies. I have his collection of scores.
@@pa4tim my teacher advised me not to start with electric violin yet since it is much harder to learn and progress on it compared to classical. Glad you found a score you like 🙂 if you play guitar on Tonic I might join your studio, love guitar music ❤️ happy practice and happy holidays 😉
This is so sweet. I don't even play the violin, so why does it somehow feel like world class violinist Ray Chen arranged it especially for me? 😁 Thanks for the Christmas gift!
Thanks so much for this awesome Christmas!!!! Have the best Christmas ever, Ray! Love you tons ❤
The best Christmas Gift ever 🎉🎉🎉🎉
A beautiful Xmas treat, thank you so much
🌟🎄❤🎄🌟
Thank you so very much, Ray! Happy holidays!
Amazing, pls do more of this Ray❤
Thank you Ray! I'll practice just right now
I love the sweater, looks nice and comfy lol♡
Ray Chen is such a gift!! Love love ❤️ this arrangement! Merry Christmas!
I love your playing and your colorful sweater :)
A beautiful arrangement and a moving performance-thank you so much for this musical gift. Happy holidays to you!
Perfect, I'll play this for my family on christmas 😊 happy holidays!
This was so cozy and nice. Thank you, Ray, this brought me a bit of joy and healing in a time when I really needed it. Happy holidays 😊
Thank you for the video Ray. Wishing you and yours a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! ❤👍😃
I love the harmonics you made in this song. You clearly gave very good instructions on how to play this piece. 👍🎻
It is beyond my current level, but it sounds so beautiful 😻
This is so beautiful I'm melting! 😍 And thank you so so much for the tips on how to play it 🙏♥️
Both tutorial video AND the music? Oooooh, I have zero excuse now! Thanks Ray ❤ See you on Tonic and Happy practicing 🌸👋🏾
Very beautiful performance, Merry Christmas!
👍🐺🎅🦊👍
I love his fingers ❤
Thank you so much!🙏A very Merry Christmas to all of you!!🎄😃
Total gold. So many learning points. I just watched it in detail, and then again at quarter speed to see it in even more detail, like how Ray starts vibrato and how much flat and sharp he goes, and how he builds the vibrato. This is incredible for me, like having the best possible teacher all to myself for as long as I want.
Such a treat. I play the flute, but listening to and watching Ray Chen warms my soul.
Thank you! It was because of the notes of this music that I came to the Tonic app a year ago! And I don’t regret it! 🥰💙
Thanks for the music, Ray. I'm in the orchestra and just blend with the other musicians except at Christmas time when I like to get my family solo-on. This will be a wonder piece to include into my yearly repertoire.
You are so humble in spite being so wondrously talented . A truly beautiful human being with a golden heart ❤️ . May God bless you with a long life , good health, peace and happiness always . You are the best ! Love you , Ray !
感受到爐火、雪花和寧靜,很美
I'm not a violinist but just learned so much about it! Very fun to watch and the performance was outstanding!!! 👏 🎄 Thank you!
Love it ❤ thanks! Will go look for that group 😊
There have been so many jazz interpretations of classical works that it is nice to see a classical violinist interpreting a jazz tune with such finesse. This reminds me of the contrasting and complementary styles when Grapelli and Menuhin produced a jazz album together.
How nice!!! Put your talent to help others to enjoy the music more!!! Just by watching this video, I feel I can play violin toooo!! (Oh well, I play pickleball 😂) but how I wish my kids continue playing cello! Or just any music instrument!🎻🎹🪕🪈🎷🎺🪗🎸🪘🥁
Merry Christmas 🎄 & Happy holiday!! 🎉
How awesome your videos are very great live them Ray Chen
Lovely playing ❤
I play the piano and I listened to this in its entirety. Why? When Ray plays, I feel as I am being engulfed and embraced with all of the emotions being played. Thank you Ray. ❤
ㅠㅠ 이렇게 고퀄리티의 소리를 안방에서 편하게 들을 수 있다니 정말 행복합니다
Thank you! I enjoyed it❤
Luv this!
Thank you Ray for this beautiful arrangement, a wonderful Christmas treat to us 🌲😍Merry Christmas! Hope you'll make Christmas carols available on Spotify too. Greedy me 😁🤗
Beautiful 😍
❤Merry Christmas 🎄 🎉
Amazing!
He’s awesome ❤
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏Merry Christmas!
You have my support, always. Hugs from the Netherlands ❤
🎶thanks for the chapters
Merry Christmas 🤍
This is pretty!!
Thanks for the arrangement Ray, I'm practicing this now. Would love the sheet with suggested fingerings 😂 trying to follow the video.
An interesting way to present a
" how to "...
video!
Saw your vid with Emilio ...n ... have enjoyed some of his other work...
Interesting how you have done on
" busking", as such..??
Thanks for sharing!
C ya on the next video!
👍🦊🎅🐺👍
I'm still learning "Waltzing Matilda" with all its double/triple/quadruple stops and crazy slides.
Maybe learning this at the same time will help?
I love your opening double stops. Heavenly indeed! 🥰
I could use a double stops lesson titled: 'How on earth you make them sound in tune?' 😂
@@agatafurczyk9149 Keep bowing. Adjust the bottom note so it's perfect. Then adjust the top note so it's perfect. Take your time. Use a slack bow so that the hair almost touches the stick at the middle. Enjoy the journey. I'm really enjoying it!
@@JSB2500 Thanks. I'll try the slack bow 😁
@@agatafurczyk9149 With a slack bow you can play them more quietly and easily so you can focus on adjusting your fingers. I found that I remembered the finger shapes and positions really quickly. Having said that, I did spend weeks playing ONLY double stops all day! 🤭
@@JSB2500 😊 Thanks 🤗
i found out about you not long ago, and i'm into you now ❤
can't wait 👍️👍️
On the 12th day of Christmas my teacher gave to me, 12 Paganini Caprices, 11 Haydn Quartets, 10 Bartók duets, 9 Kreutzer studies, 8 Hungarian dances, 7 Rhode Caprices, 6 Ysaye sonatas, 5 Dont etudes, 4 Flesh scales, 3 Bach Partitas, 2 concertos to practice during this week.
Thank you ! Happy holidays! We feel pretty sad, though. Your concert in Antwerp is sold out. But we're on the waiting list, so who knows... Fingers crossed.
Have watched a lot of vids of you and with 2Set - would love to hear you play Lark Ascending at some point…particularly out here in SE Asia…also love the Pingu cushion!
Even managed to duck up a Christmas carol 🤣 well done Rayban 💪🏻 keep up playing loud , scratchy and with soy sauce flavour phrasing
Bruh ofc it’s a premier, I want my ray chen now !
Please more video like this ❤❤
So smooth with it👌🏻🎻 By the way what microphone do you use ??
in a way i kinda like this solo violin version better than the one posted 5 years ago with piano accompaniment
Thx u
This arrengement is really nice🎄🎄. I am sad that there isn't one for double bass😭. I guess i have to start learning violin, viola or cello now😵💫.
Oh wow there's already so much in the tonic group! 👀 hope more people will join soon
Can't wait!
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone 🎉!
New sub!!
I don't know .but i see now a shurt video on youtube music with pianist .😅😅it's very good .I'm in love with the video .the music waw really
I learned this in like an hour or two today, for Christmas, and uploaded my final performance on r/Violinist and r/Lingling40hours
It’s a nice arrangement, but I changed a couple of the parts, just because it didn’t sound good to me. I also played it like 65% the speed that Ray plays it at lmao.
You are pure ❤❤
Part 2: Amazimg performanve
Starts when my piano lesson starts 😭 watching an hour late I guess 🤣🙂
Through the tutorial "ray why you talk so fast I'm new!!"
Through the performance "😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭"
Just beautiful ❤️
Hey ray it would be super cool if you can do a reaction to Caprice no. 5 by Marcin on guitar its a great hear and watch thank you!
❤
Hey Ray. 6:50 you player c #. But its written c. What of those should it be? Thank for the wonderful share :)
Cute, doing Christmas carols with Karolina would have been cute too
Indeed, agreed!!
🎻👍🐺🧙♂️!
please Paganini caprice no. 5
Thank You so much 😄
Interesting. I was just singing this
Oh no I will only learn about 3rd position next year!!😢
Ray Chen is famous violinist
Hey Mr. Virtuoso, Ray!!! I'll explain something to you about myself, if I may...I have this crazy delusion that im talented, I won the symf violin competition, I won the basketball championship in highschool, and i won an art competition in college...those accolades convinced me that im a talented individual. But today I realized what's beneath the surface, I cannot run 50 mph, I cannot bench press 300 pounds, I cannot get the girl of my dreams, so actually, I'm not talented at all!
Please 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 paganini caprice no . 5 Thank you so much 😄😄
Ray I enjoy wathing your videos but have you ever played with Chloe chua
How do you make an arrangement of music. I have a music theory book from the old days but how do you write music for public like that? Believe it or not more than 30 years ago I passed a grade 5 music theory exam.
Hook us up with a sponsored link for that sweater haha
Where can I find these arrangements on tonic?
In the search tab, type “Ray Music Arrangements” and under the “Groups” tab it will be there once you join! Super easy :)
Me who has never touched any string instrument in my life ✍
Me: Great!! I'm going to play this for my family on Christmas
Ray: We start with double stops and third position
Me: ....... Damn 🙃
... in time... for next Christmas??? 😅
You got this! 7 more days of practice - I believe in you 👍🏼
Sorry, i love your sweater too much and i try searching it and find it too expensive for me 😢anyway, merry Christmas, Ray Chen and dear sweater 🎉🎉😊
😯😯😯😯😯👍👍
