How to catch Mille Lacs Lake Smallmouth on Topwater (NMS)

The mille lacs lake topwater bite has been pretty awesome lately. The conditions need to be pretty perfect but when they line up so does the topwater bite. We focus on Mille Lacs for this one, solely because we didn’t want to do an hour long episode on topwater. Check out the rods, reels, baits, and techniques for this type of fishing! Mille lax smallies are so damn picky. Last 2 summers in a row ive been up there in july, threw da book at em: drop shot, ned, hair, jerk bait, toobz, swim bait...only a few bites. one of those times, they was on top water and i dint bring my top watr baits. Then next go around i swear they was prolly on spy baits. THIS time, in a few wks....imma bring all my damn lures 😅. I just got sum spy baits so really looking forward to get em on sum duo's.
