i grew up ice fishing Mille Lacs on the west side with my dad way before GPS and Lakemaster chips, he knew the mudflats very well and i always asked him "how did you figure out the flats?" and he would always say "i drilled a lot of holes with my auger" lol
@@Carl_McMelvin Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach an indian... Just kidding! An indian will over harvest a lake with his fluorocarbon nets, outboard, and electronics and start whining the white man caused his problems. All this from the comfort of his casino, which would have more tourism if the the fishing wasn't decimated by the indians using MODERN fishing techniques!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #firewaterbad
I have been fishing Mille Lacs for 50 years. The DNR is trying to make it something it is not. You catch small fish for a couple of years. They get bigger as there is a lot of bait to eat. Then the bait start to run short. Now we caught a lot of fish. The fish quantity gets smaller. Bail fish comes back and the cycle starts over again. The DNR needs to get it together.
I grew up fishing Rainy Lake and Rainy River but Mille Lacs is my favorite for open water...
