16:40 it's probably a vial of sauron's blood (we see him cut his hand a moment before) but since we are in that "dream" sequence celebrimbor thinks it's mithril. That also could explain why the 9 were so powerful on the minds of their wearers if sauron's own blood was in them
The fact they shot the Great Deceiver scene with the illusion over Celebrimbor IN CAMERA is insane. Some may not like the writing or plot but it cannot be argued that this show is a technical triumph, and a visual masterpiece
fun fact: the change from day to night at 17:02 was practical, not cgi, the video from the bts is really awesome. This show's production value is insane!
little correction here: "the gift of the valar" is actually death for the race of men. no one really knows what happens to the soul of men after death but it's implied by those who believe to be a heavenly place. the elves are quiet about it but are sometimes jealous of it. it's a really interesting idea from Tolkien reflecting his Catholic beliefs in a way.
One thing which I love is the more Durin becomes obsessed with greed, the better, and happier he looks. It's a stark contrast with how little he was smiling the first season.
@SilvershotStudios that's good bro. It's wild out here in the reaction world. Everyone just seems to follow Critical Drinker opinion and not think Critical themselves. I think it's impressive to have that much influence but it's sad so many people blindly follow another human that's no different from them.
Also Arondir caught Orcs doing something specific. Thats what the map was for, youll see in the coming episodes. Lets just say they have a task meant to help the siege.
The quote that Tom gave the stranger is the same quote that Gandalf told to Frodo in LoTR. We all assumed who the stranger was but now its pretty much confirmed its Gandalf.
Not gonna lie, whenever I saw Sauron this episode I was screaming "I hate you, I hate you, I hate you!"- what he's doing to Celebrimbor (and how he's playing Mirdania) is just too much to handle. Also, did you notice how, when Adar brings out Morgoth´s crown, how Galadriel tries to move as much as possible away from it? I thought that was a nice detail. The conflict of Durin seeing his father so dependent on the ring reminds of family members watching a love one succumb to addition. Not sure how we´ll all go through the devastating drama of the last two episodes....
The only thing with orcs attacking Eregion is that there's no one really there which we care about other than Celebrimbor. At least till Elrond gets there. With these orcs attacking The Southlands led by Adar, I was afraid for it's people. Here I can't quite say I'm invested.
7:18 . The line Tom said to strange: " Many that die deserve life, some that live- deserve death" . That's the line Gandalf said to Frodo in first movie where they were talking of Bilbo sparing Gollum.
They actually did catch it 😄 Eric makes a face of recognition and looks down the table at the others before taking down a note. They then bring it up in the discussion where they directly mention it (and how Tom is training Gandalf) and Calvin quotes it ^^
Given Tom's 2 lines to the Stranger in this episode I am disappointed in being almost 100% sure that he's Gandalf. I could have written off some of the other stuff that happened as being coincidence but telling him he needs to be a "Servant of the Secret Fire" and the line about choosing who gets to live and die cements that he will become Gandalf.
I'm legit confused on all this hate, like are we watching the same show. I'm convinced they just following others sheepishly not forming their own opinions. I've seen alot of bad shows especially recently, this aint one of them.
I assumed the sea monster was the same one since they were nearish Numenor when they were found by them in s1 right? Also for Aaron, I believe it’s more a case of the Valar being a more Elven thing but the “faithful” people of Numenor have Elvish ties (such is their divide with the new king currently who is more against it, they cast out the faithful king in s1 and “elven stone” was the issue in ousting Miriel) that’s why his dude was like…well if Elendil is a faithful then we could use the valar ways to see if he should die or not. I hope I’ve understood that correctly!
@@mupsoftarenand Sauron has never manipulated metal before... forging is something he has no knowledge of. . . like at all. He should learn that. Could be helpful. oh well.

That quote by Adar “Only blood can bind” comes to mind. It might be the thing that binds the wearers to Sauron
That's good. I didn't even think of that. I just assumed that he had some mithril dust leftover.
Yeah its not Mithril. Its his blood. Someone else said it but "only blood can bind" its just part of the illusion.

That whole segment where Men call death a curse and Elves call it a gift is top tier Tolkien. Incredible stuff

Best Jedi ever.
I said what I said.

Just want to see how sauron looked in the beginning of S1- full armor, the whole Shazam
I don’t think he had it
Probably by the end of the whole series with the Battle of the Last Alliance.

Everytime Sauron shows up i'm like: How is this guy going to manipulate someone this time?
I was under the impression the Lindon elves were on their way to Numenor. Gil-galad spoke in such a manner that implied he was seeking allies.

I fear for Dissa's life. I could imagine a scenario where King Durin kills her.
I hope it happens soon, she is so annoying.

Fortunately that’s not the point of what’s happening so it doesn’t really matter. He’s setting it up to have the elves fight Adar.

They hate that they made the characters diverse and that they made Galadriel into a "girl boss" lol.
