There was originally going to be a scene at the beginning where the heroes held a funeral for Gazerbeam and the others killed by Syndrome in the first movie. It was unfortunately cut for time, but a rough animatic can be found online. I really wish they'd kept it in.
There was also a scene showing Honey hiding Frozone's supersuit when the underminer shows up, but they cut it because they liked the mystery of not knowing what Honey looked like
They had all those years and cut this scene because of TIME?! Jeez, what a horrible decision by the execs.
@jordanwolfson8378 right?! That would've been such a good scene to add. But nooo, we absolutely need a fight scene between Jack Jack and a raccoon. Sure it's a fun scene, but it doesn't feel necessary when they already had several scenes of Jack Jack showing off his powers and the family's reactions to it all.
It took way too long to realize her name was literally Evil endeavor. Elastigirl getting a chance to be in the spotlight and she deserves it
I realized it as soon as she said her name when I first saw the movie. It really spoiled the surprise.
Elastic girl had the spotlight in the first film when she was dodging missil3s and breaking into to the facility. I guess people forgot about that.
@@LXW-ArtsThe first movie was primarily focused on Bob, and mostly from Bobs’ perspective, while also making sure his family didn’t feel too side-character. This movies’ focus is primarily Helen, while Bob takes a bit of a backseat this time, and still not making the family feel too pushed in the background. No one has forgotten Elasticgirls scenes, they’re arguably some of the most memorable scenes in the movie.

I think third film will focus on all the new superheros slowly coming back in the spotlight and how that will drawn in bigger villians to come out of retirement.

The Underminer and Bomb Voyage are the only villains in the series to succeed in their plan, being the only Incredibles villains to get away and not get punished for their crimes.

I imagine many of us thought eh Underminer would be a one-off villain they defeat off screen but no he actually gets away with it and made it worse for the Supers to do any work. I also didn’t expect a sequel to pick up exactly where the first movie picked off. 😅

I’m actually hoping he’s the villain of the likely inevitable 3rd movie because Bob and Helen caudal too much so he grows up entitled. Age everyone up 10-15 years, have the parents TRY to stop him but can’t, leaving it to Dash and Violet who succeed. I think that’s a really good way to extend this world.
The driver who says "You're my biggest fan" is voiced by Usher. Also, remember that Jack-Jack doesn't like the glasses because he saw the movie with the robber villain in the bandit mask (which is also why he started fighting the raccoon).
I actually prefer the design of Jack Jack’s demon form in the first movie than in this one. It looks more menacing and the purple coloring in the second one always seemed off to me.

So there's an interesting theory out there that during the restaurant scene in the monsters inc movie when someone says to a reporter "the child was flying around blasting stuff with its laser vision", that was actually jack jack who briefly teleported into the monsters dimension at that moment. I mean that description makes absolutely no sense for boo in that movie, but we literally see jack jack doing all those things here and we know he can teleport into dimensions and return
I love the part where Jack Jack got his new speech powers and went "Hey guys! My powers are Incredibles too!" and they all lived happily ever after.

I can see where Evelyn's coming from, but her plan makes no sense. She didn't really *need* to do anything to achieve her goal. Supers were already illegal, and her actions reversed that. The exact opposite of what she wanted. It's not well thought out at all. This movie definitely needed more time to go through another draft.
Hopefully the incredibles 3 will be better
Ok so I wanted to make this clear. I think her plan DOES make sense. Her brother’s efforts were to restore faith in supers to make them legal again, but she didn’t want that and needed people to completely lose faith in them regardless of their protection. If she sat back her brother would simply go ahead with his plan to reignite the trust in heroes and legalize them and had the resources to do so no issue. So she stepped in to sabotage the effort by gaining their trust to bring them out, and then moved to publicly humiliate them by terrifying the public with them when she had them under her control.
Where I think she lacks is her backstory. What would’ve strengthened her motivation is if her father inspired by the cartoons of their youth went to fight the robbers himself. And her brother thinks similarly. If that were the case, she would have much more justifiable anger at the heroes impact on the public and give rise to her screenslaver persona which is anti screens and how the public believes everything they see on screen. She has clearly argued many times with her brother over this subject and her desperation to suppress his trust would check.
Did it need a better explanation and need a BIT more elaboration? Yes. But VERY little about her needed to change.
Her brother is my only guess, or else she wouldn't have done this. He probably came up to her with the idea of making Heroes legal again and she would rather have them seen as villains and terrorists than anything else.
So she manipulated his idea of having them seen as heroes, let him make them legal again, then mind control them and make them unredeemable therefore proving her point. It makes sense. They'd definitely never recover again.
I think it's because her brother would have made it happen even without her. Also, the reason supers were illegal was because they caused more problems, but if she shows them becoming not just a problem but a threat, that's worse for the heroes.
Yeah, I think it wouldve be better if the movie started with the public opinion of supers changing to the point of almost de-criminalicing it. That way her plan wouldve made more sence. Mask herself as part of an organization that wants that to happend, but also creating a villan (specially one that targets the common people) that would make it seem like a bad idea. The screenslaver wouldve work much better if it showcased more the fact that most of the time, just by existing, superheros justify the existence of supervillains.
Everyone finds out Jack-Jack has powers Laser eyes, multiplying, floating in air, copying, Combustion as in fire to cool him down foam, demon, and going through walls. 1:05:24 Gee I thought he would want the Cookie num num even if he's big.

There was a theory going on when the movie first came out that the house the Incredibles lived in, the one that Winston loaned to them, once belonged to Syndrome -- because of the whole "belonged to an eccentric billionaire who liked to come and go as he please without being seen" thing, it might be a stretch but personally, I'd like to believe it could be
Bob wasn't being selfish, he was having emotions. It's fine to feel jealous and have negative emotions, it's how you act that makes you a good person.

Also i will give bob credit imagine getting to live your dream WITH your family only to be told "no only your wife". He handled it the best he could and even Helen understands his personality to see he's being genuine. They love each other and it has been a hard day for him.
You guys are way too hard on Mr. incredible. This is a guy who has been struggling for the last 15 years having to hide the core piece of his identity and then in a span of less than 6 months he got to experience being a hero again, only to have it immediately ripped away. Not only that but he was THE Superhero in his era. To suddenly get told that you aren’t wanted after thinking you were finally going to be able to come out of the shadows is just a gut punch.
right? thank god somebody else got it. The constant "mr. incredible sucks and is such an egoist" got old really fast.
Another reason they didn’t want Mr. Incredible leading the project is because he’s literally the reason Supers were made illegal to begin with. That’s literally how the first movie opened.

He saved a man who didn't want to be saved, causing him to sue Mr Incredible. And the train situation didn't help his case.

Looking back it’s clear how much this movie got screwed over by corporate interference, this movie was pushed up so Toy Story 4 could have another year in the oven

Brad Bird actually really didn’t want to make a sequel. He loves sequels but felt it might cheapen the story if it had sequels for the sake of sequels rather than a story. It took 10+ years before he caved
It's mainly because disney wanted to have something to release during the summer because toy story 4 got delayed

A small detail I love about these movies is that confidence and creativity are major factors in utilizing your powers to their fullest extent. They hinted at it with Violet failing to make a large enough force field in the first movie, but they also show it here with Voyd. When she's herself, she's clearly very nervous and insecure about proving herself in front of her hero, so she makes a lot of clumsy mistakes. But when she's being hypnotized by Evelyn, she uses her portal powers EXTREMELY competently and in ways we don't see once she's back to normal.
Evelyn Deavor is a sneaky villain.
I think that Evelyn's plan would make more sense if she wanted to kill all Supers instead of wanting to keep them illegal.
Hopefully "Incredibles 3" does the franchise justice.
I feel like after being rushed by Disney brad wouldn't have accepted it without pre-planning for potential cuts unless he was under contract with making TWO sequels for them.
People hate on this film a lot (and bring up good points), but I actually prefer this to the original, mostly due to the city setting instead of an island.
my biggest issue with it is that its just the first movie again, but with worse execution. All the core plot points are the same
@@oingulonthethird1908 I definitely feel like they could've done better with Screenslaver's backstory. The outlawing of superheroes is a HUGE thing, but we never see pushback from it or diving into the consequences of being a hero. Part 1 could've played out in a similar way without the ban.

so I think that this supposed new superpower of violet that is shown in the beginning of the movies to destroy falling down debris is actually her force field powers she just used her force field as a projectile
Bob IS proud and happy for his wife, but he desperately wants to be back on the field too and THAT is what hes having issues with repressing to let his wife have her time in the spotlight.
This is an example of a perfect sequel.
I really like Violet in this movie, she went from shy and reserved in the first movie to being outspoken and confident in this one.
This movie was fun but it’s main issue is how it backtracks on a lot of the character development from the first movie and rehashes a lot of the same plot points.
The reason it took so long is bc A. it's an animated movie, and it takes years to just animate all the models. B. the actors may have committed themselves to other projects, and until they were free of those obligations, they wouldn't be able to record the voice lines.
Actually the main reason is that Pixar wanted to avoid doing sequels for the longest time but because of the success of Toy Story 3 they backtracked on that idea
The only weird trivia I have about this movie is that on release, they had to give a warning about flashing lights on the mind control scenes, because it could trigger epileptic events. I believe they fixed it in theaters after a few weeks and it was fixed on DVD release. It's funny how the first movie opened with Elastigirl saying something like, leave saving the world to the men? I don't think so. Then the second movie's A plot was basically that.
Jack Jack is a little Chaos King. Hell is raining down and he's getting passed around like a football... and he's just giggling away! Chaos King.

I know some people don't like this movie, which is totally fine, but I fucking LOVE it, holy crap. I mean sure, could the villain have been better? Yeah, sure. But the good stuff far outweighs the other stuff, at least in my opinion.

I liked it because in the end is just a funny movie and finally gives a close to the history of superheroes being illegal, but on the other hand is mid compared to the first one , it doesn't have a well written message, the villain as you said, the action, that tone of mystery from the first,etc

Alright there is often a bit of a divide in how this movie was received. I think it’s VERY close in quality to the 1st but did have a misstep everyone knows to criticize.
That’s the villain. People will say her plan is the issue. Heroes are illegal, why make them MORE illegal? Well I think that’s oversimplifying her to the point of her no longer making sense. Her brother had ALREADY begun to campaign the return of supers, and with the omnidroid incident was going to be a shoe in he was going to succeed because the heroes were more successful than the freaking military. So their need had returned to public view. Her brother wanted people to see them in action more properly, and asked his sister to make the cameras and recordings to make that possible. But SHE doesn’t trust heroes OR want people to at ALL. That trust cost them their father. But if she declined to help, he would simply ask someone else. So she instead agreed to sabotage their return and make the public NOT trust them to derail their momentum back into the spotlight by internationally humiliating them. This FULLY checks.
But if you wanted to improve her because she IS the only weak point of the movie, is change her backstory. Her father INSTEAD of calling for the heroes, would be inspired by the cartoons of the heroes to go fight the robbers costing him his life, but succeeds in saving their mom as a result. She would see his efforts as a waste of his life while her brother says he died a hero just like the cartoons and is inspired to think similarly. THIS would tie in the screen slaver persona. This change is minor but makes a BIG difference. That is ALL that needs to be changed and I say it rivals the 1st movie WAY more soundly.
The family, heroes, fights, imagination, JACK-JACK are next to flawlessly executed and I love ALL of it.
If/when there is inevitably a 3rd movie, I’d love to see Jack-Jack be the villain. Age everyone up, and because he has EVERY power, he grows up entitled and can always get his way using his powers. Making the parents TRY to save him but instead Dash and Violet are the main ones that win the day because THEY didn’t caudal him like his parents would need to for him to BE a villain.

You all need to check out “The Adventures of Mr. Incredible and Pals -with commentary” it’s absolutely hilarious. Basically it’s Mr. Incredible and Frozone (actual voice actors) watching a kids “cartoon” with them as the heroes and Frozone is not having it. It was a bonus feature on the first movie alongside Jack-Jack Attack

This movie is overhated. I get people hate this for Disney rushing the dang movie and Brad had to cut out and rewrite a lot but what works really does work.
Bob was a man ready to relive the past only to realize his present was worth savoring and Helen was a woman who rejected her past for her family only to realize she didn't need to.
Seeing Helen have the chance to explore her Super Side like Bob did and see Bob be more involved with his kids because he wants to even if he's exhausted was lovely to me!
The antagonist is a little clunky but i think i saw what Brad was going for. It was worth the wait...but i REALLY hope Disney lets him cook on his own time, even if this is my favorite of the two.
ALSO the stuntwork and cinematography make this feel like a better Superhero movie than the original! Sure the original is a better movie but it's more like a Spy flick than a Superhero movie.

If they just had the time or budget to make the villans backatory/reasoning good this movie would be a 10/10 instead of the 7/10 for me.
Like an example I just thought of instead of helping her brother by useing a fake Screen Slaver she could've simply made situations where Helen looked bad by having her gear malfunction and even if she was srill being screen slaver she could've gained Elstagirls trust trap her by giving her some sort of eye gear that puts mind control eye lenses gaining control over Helen muh easier and then have complete control over Helen instead of the wack ass plan she did in the movie forcing Helen to be more reckless during her hero stuff and have the family figure out why shes acting off.. Maybe Jack Jack figures it out with his infinite powers lol
