Thank you for you message. I am 43 & have had Seizures since I was 6 years old. I was having around 30 a month and i had a Brain Resection where the Dr cut the piece of brain out that was causing my Seizures. On Feb 16th 2024 & i haven't had a seizure since. But my left side is having numbness. My Dr told me that it will go away just give it time. I do physically therapy everyday for it. But your video helped me to just keep in mind i just need to be patient. So Thank you Again.

I will give my experience, I had scoliosis surgery 33 years ago at age 18, there was a lot of numbness in my back, I would say most of it cam back in ther first 1-2 years, but a lot came back over many years to come, I mean now at 33 years I think I have more sensation than I did 10 years ago. So never underestimate. those nerves, but you don't want to give false hope either, and maybe my operation was different than many other types of surgery, put also just telling my experience, and to not give up hope.

Eight weeks ago I went down on a commuter scooter and landed squarely on my left shoulder breaking my clavicle. I went through ORIF surgery a week later and ever since I have a softball size patch of numbness that has caused onset depression and a ton of regret. Had I known about MIPO surgery or given the option of closed reduction nailing I would have at a minimum asked about alternatives instead now finding out the hard way that a solid 50% majority of people (stastically) do not recover 100% from the hyposthesia when clavicular nerve branches are sacrificed in surgery.
    Still, I will remain hopeful.

Agreed. I felt kind of pressured into ORIF surgery at the moment. But I think it was my only option since the clavicle displacement was severe in my case. How are you holding up btw? I just had surgery 1 month ago and my shoulder and chest are numb.

I had spinal injury C1-C4 (incomplete Injury) in 21 Sep 2017 in traffic accident. Until now it is 26 Nov 2017 already. I cannot feel my body part and lower part (chest, waist, legs). They are numb. However, after surgery for 3 weeks, sometimes my leg move itself (knees, ankles, feet), i cannot manage to control it yet, but i can feel hot in my legs. Is it good sign? How long that numbness go away?

phanna kem those accidents can be very severe. Spinal cord injuries are mich different than just a single nerve being injured. The numbness you have may never go away, but it could take up to 1-2 years if any. The warmth you feel is good because it is a sign that you are getting some sort of activity in your legs. The numbness of my front shoulder is the bottleneck for training my shoulders right now. I've had a clavicular fracture, bone was completly broken through right in the middle. For some reason, maybe because they had to move the bone pieces together, my shoulder is pretty darn weak now. I have the same problem with the upper chest, wich is reasonable because of the location of the fracture and surgery.

I'm 1-month post-op after a clavicle fracture, for which I had 2 surgeries in a week, and utterly scared of this numbness might be here to stay. Also, numbness around calf and toes area. Had another MRI done a week ago that shows no reherniation but still an inflamed nerve. Do you think if I don’t reherniate then eventually pain in my legs should disappear, right? I mean, there is no reason for it to persist? I have some numbness and pain from a plantar fasciotomy i had 4.5 months ago and it recently got worse as i had a busy week on my feet, hopefully its just a temporary setback. Is there any thing i can do to speed up the process and help healing of scar tissue and nerve damage? I've started massaging the area for 5-10 mins/day with my thumbs.

Day 6 post ACL/Meniscus and my leg is still super numb and tingly all around the incision on my shin to the right just below the knee cap is the worst and even into my calf, mostly below the knee cap but some above. Will this go away I’m super nervous. I want to be able to feel here. How can I get this back. My knee is also super tight and hard to bend. I’m doing my exercises and still working on gaining my quad muscle. I can’t lift my leg at all or pull it up. I wish I would have known this before I got it done dang! 🤦‍♂️

I'm assuming you had a patellar tendon graft? Numbness is normal and can take up to 18 months to go away. 6 days is very early in the process. You will most likely be in PT for a minimum of 6 months. Depending on what you are trying to get back to. Could be longer. Keep doing what they tell you. Do a lot on your own and don't just rely on what you do in the clinic. Good luck!

Hi nick, I recently just had acl surgery and I've had persisting shin and foot numbness for 5 days now. The doctor told me that the numbing feeling should've went away in 1-3 days but it hasn't. I can move my foot, but there is no sensation except for pins and intense heat. Both my foot, shin, and thigh are very swollen currently. At the same time, there is numbness around my injection site, near my groin area. My right ballsack also seems to be kind of inflamed and numb. On my left leg, there is a long strip spaning form around the bottom inner side of my shin, to the inner calf to around my inner upper thigh. However, most of my left leg works fine and my foot and toes all have feeling without pins and needles. I was wondering what the issue was for this, since the only injections they made for the nerve bloc was the femoral nerve block to prevent movement and another inecjtion I believe to prevent sensation. Should I be concerned about this? Is the pins and needle feeling on my right foot due to the heavy inflammation? Thank you!

Thanks for your thoughts...I had emergency appendix surgery (it was perforated but did not fully rupture). I was in the hospital for 5 days and on the third day realized part of my right leg was numb. The cause seems to be sciatica from being in the bed for so long. However, about 3 weeks after that a small section of my left upper arm went numb (I was also experiencing sharp nerve pain in that same spot for a while when moving the arm in a certain spot). My right upper arm developed a very small area of numbness about 10 days after that and the latest issue is a very minor burning feeling in my feet, especially when sitting. I cannot get into the neurologist for over 2 months and I am starting to think it might be post surgical neuropathy. This is no pain in these areas but I am still concerned...I'd be curious if you ever ran into something like this before or have any thoughts...thanks!

Sometimes it feels like my toes are crossed. I feel sharp pains in my toes as well. Im a lineman. I cant wear boots anymore so its over for me. Shoes are boots my my nerves go crazier. If i cant wear boots I definitely cant wear gaffs so what am i going to do fir a living? What job will hire someone that cant wear shoes or boots? I can build scaffolding, ive done some iron work. 9 months post surgery and i still have issues. The bright side is that i dint feel the agonizing pain i felt 24/7l. I was hurting bad.

we discussed it with our gynac.she told us it is may be because of that spinal one.she had extreme pain in both of legs from knee to feet past delivery for about 2 and a half months.our gynac suggested foot exercises but she was really unable to do it.after delivery gynac.she found blood infection in her body and gave her antibiotics.earlier in her pregnancy she was diagnosed with hypothyroid.we checked it again and it came with a result negative.she had a burning and tingling sensation like electric shock sensation some 15 days ago.she now has this only in fingers and toes and not for all day but only for 2 hours hardly at dawn time everyday.
I am very much concerned about it.what do you suggest sir?we are going to a md general physician and then after what he/she suggests to do.

Thanks for the comment and for watching! I'm assuming you had a nerve block? If you did the numbness from that in the arm is normal. The tongue is not a normal symptom. The tongue is supplied by one of the cranial nerves and that is nowhere near the area they would give you the nerve block. I would talk to your surgeon about that.

I got chiari decompression 4 months ago, and im still unable to feel on my entire right side and some on the left leg. I am unable to control my right hand and it feels so heavy actually all of the right side feels soo heavy. I will say compared to how i started right after surgery without any movement for almost 2 weeks just left hand, to how i am now with full movement on the entire body i say i have done good progress. I just haven't been able to walk though and idk if because of the no feeling, numbness and tingling or because its been 4 months or both. Or if the reason was because they were only taking the bones off on the neck but they didnt expect for cerebellum to pop out because of pressure it had with the bone. 😓 cant go to therapy because there is no money for that we are hoping for the disability thing since it is a forever thing what i have. I just dont know what to do to start walking again or control, i guess just keep moving and exercising in bed to regain strength. I do sit by myself and my mom stands me up by holding my knees with hers but i dont last 2 min when my knees give up and since i cant feel the right side idk if its touching the floor. Sorry for the long story 🙏 and thank you for the info 😊
