I really wonder what would happen if bmw put this engine in a 1500kg supercar, considering this is a heavy big car. I think it would destroy the gtr AMG, R8 plus and maybe even the new turbo S! Awesome engine
R8 can't handle well at tracks.
In sport auto Supertest Hockenheim R8 with semi slicks is 2 seconds slower than M8 with normal P0 tires.
Even in the Nurburgring super test R8 is slower than M8.
R8 handles quite well in corners... But it does not accelerate fast enough..
Nah, won't beat the Turbo S. Bmw can't come close.

Cost-wise they go toe to toe, also. This would be an amazing comparison. My money is on that they both do 10.1s in 1/4 mile with the MH800 slightly ahead.

I have a bmw i8 and I bought it because I love the looks and the fanastic balance between economy and performance (60 mile commute daily and I average 40mpg in a car with 360hp) and I understand why bmw built the i8 they way it is but damn I really wish there was an mi8 with this power train in this i8 chassis

I always wonder how all these tuner cars get through tüv/autokeuring with the OPF deletes etc... Pretty sure in Belgium none of this is allowed. I can't even get a pass with a Milltek backbox (not even the complete exhaust).

Don't know really, Evolve Automotive has an 800bhp M5 and they only manage 205mph
@@Madge104 maybe the aero. For example a 1000hp 720s could only do 220mph. While stock gt2rs with adjusted rear spoiled could do 219mph. Both tested by johnny bohmer proving ground
@Bulent Ali From my understanding, the stock car with the M Driver's Package is limited at 305 km/h (claimed by BMW) and Manhart did not remove the limiter. If the limiter is removed, it can probably go up to around 340-350 km/h.

Warum Limiter? Wenn ich die PS hab möchte ich auch mehr Endgeschwindigkeit als das Serienauto, und für die Reifen dürfte das auch kein Problem sein, ist doch kein Ding das zu Programmieren und bei dem Preis wo sich dieses Fahrzeug, inklusive Optimierung, befindet empfinde ich das als selbstverständlich. Aber das ist mir schon bei anderen Tunern aufgefallen als wenn man kein Ärger mit den Herstellern haben will.
