Le Scene infantili (tedesco: Kinderszenen), op. 15, sono brevi, in alcuni casi brevissime, composizioni pianistiche scritte da Robert Schumann nel febbraio del 1838.
Fanno parte, assieme alla "Kreisleriana", dei cicli poetici del compositore tedesco: idee ed eventi, in questo caso reminiscenze infantili, vanno a conferire un'intensificazione fantasiosa all'espressione musicale. Ispirate dalle lettere scritte dalla moglie Clara Wieck riguardo all'animo a volte fanciullesco, come già i titoli dei brani possono suggerire, del grande compositore, secondo lo stesso Schumann in esse "vi è un po' di tutto e al tempo stesso sono pezzi facili da ricordare": inizialmente l'autore le definì scene infantili composte per bambini da parte di un adulto, ma in seguito modificò il proprio giudizio in "reminiscenze per adulti da parte di un adulto"; non più musica per i bimbi dunque, bensì sui bimbi.
Robert Alexander Schumann (Zwickau, 8 giugno 1810 - Endenich, 29 luglio 1856) è stato un compositore, pianista e critico musicale tedesco. È da molti considerato come l'iniziatore e insieme uno dei più grandi compositori di musica romantica. Infatti si fa risalire il Romanticismo musicale alle sue prime composizioni pianistiche, pubblicate nel 1830. La sua musica riflette la natura profondamente individualista del Romanticismo. Intellettuale ed esteta, fu poco compreso in vita, ma la sua musica è oggi considerata audacemente originale per l'armonia, il ritmo, la forma e per la rivoluzionaria tecnica pianistica.
Fu il marito di Clara Schumann, anch'ella pianista e compositrice. Clara operò alacremente per la diffusione della musica del marito al di là della cerchia dei suoi illustri estimatori, tra cui Franz Liszt, Felix Mendelssohn, Ferdinand Hiller e il giovane Johannes Brahms. Inoltre ella non risparmiò feroci critiche a chi, in buona o in malafede, si esprimeva negativamente su Robert Schumann e in primo luogo a Richard Wagner.
Le sue opere sono un esempio di passionalità focosa, e di sentimenti intimi, delicati, sensuali, lacrimevoli, autunnali. Il suo stile, ricco di sfumature ma sempre chiaro e preciso nella condotta delle parti, è espresso attraverso un uso dell'armonia assai personale, che, come avviene per i suoi grandi contemporanei (in particolare Chopin e Liszt), si rende immediatamente riconoscibile all'orecchio dell'ascoltatore, soprattutto nei piccoli e numerosissimi brani per pianoforte per i quali è giustamente noto. Ed è forse in questi ultimi, piuttosto che nelle sue pur mirabili grandi composizioni per orchestra e per strumento solista e orchestra, che Schumann raggiunge la vetta più alta e più tipica della sua arte. Ad ogni modo, sebbene a tratti strumentalmente imperfetta, la produzione orchestrale di Schumann, compresa la tanto discussa opera Genoveva, occupa un posto fondamentale nella musica, ponendosi come punto di riferimento dei canoni romantici, mirabili le quattro Sinfonie, non meno di quanto avvenga per capolavori pianistici come il Carnaval, gli Studi sinfonici, le dieci fughe e le Sonate. Compose anche grandi opere sinfonico-corali, come Das Paradies und die Peri, Der Rose Pilgerfahrt, Manfred e Scene dal 'Faust' di Goethe.
Antonio Castagna ha tenuto concerti e recitals in Italia e all’estero (GERMANIA, SVEZIA, BELGIO, OLANDA, EMIRATI ARABI UNITI, FRANCIA, SVIZZERA, BRASILE, USA, ARGENTINA, COREA DEL SUD, ) Ha partecipato più volte a programmi radio-televisivi RAI. E' stato Direttore, dal 1996 al 2012, dell’Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali Gaetano BRAGA di Teramo. E' stato docente di Pianoforte nei Conservatori di Foggia e di Teramo. - เพลง

@@AntonioCastagna You're welcome Antonio. In my opinion, the best phrasing comes from a love of the music itself and how it is conveyed from the heart. I remember as a child going to the symphony and also seeing concert pianists. I never enjoyed those that played the fastest or even the most accurate. I think I was allergic to robotic performances and found myself ALWAYS enjoying not just the mastery, but the emotion that comes from the music through interpretation. That is the pure GOLD in a performance. This is what I always felt in music from the time I was a small child and at times did not make me the ideal student....trying to play Baroque with feeling? Some of my teachers thought that was rather blasphemous, so I would then play it correctly....haha :-) Anyway, the point is that you have that in you....every time....every performance....gorgeous and flowing emotion. This makes you stand out in a beautiful way to me. You manage the types of performances that are both masterful and emotional and my favorite way to watch and listen :-) Take good care, ~Jackie

It is interesting to listen the prima parte of the Kinderzenen, having already listened to the first part. I come to the same opinion, that the slower tempi of the compositions in your interpretation comes much closer to the original idea of Schumann. That is, to write simple music which should be played simply. Although I had some initial problems adjusting to the slower tempi, I found I started to enjoy these ... many thanks for showing us that these pieces do not have to be played fast to be enjoyed!
Thank you for your very interesting considerations on the use of speed in the timing of this composition by Schumann. Also in this case I thought a lot about the speed trying to understand what the composer had in mind.
I understand that not everyone thinks the same but that is also the magic of music.
