I honestly find it insane that Aes is famous when you really listen to his lyrics and realise what he's rapping about, it's genuinely insane to think there are hundreds of thousands of people who like it hahaha. He is my favourite of all time though.

When the original underground hip hop artist makes a significant charting on Billboard, is it still "underground"? Aesop Rock is easily the most talented rapper I know of, an artist of artists.
Mr Aesop. I don't know if you read these comments, but if you do, id just like to thank you sincerely for the years you have shared your music with me and everyone. When shit gets bad i always turn to your music, i honestly don't know were i would be without your rhymes man. Looking forward to the new record, buying it as soon as possible! Thanks again dude!
I think what amazes me the most is that Aes has lost NO steam, even after so many years under his belt. No matter how many times you play his stuff, you always pick up on something new.
thank you soooooooo much for the link to rapgenius!!!!! It has only increased my never ending amount of respect for Aesop and other like him. Thank you very much you are awesome.
I actually like this guy because, it takes a lot of listening and researching to actually understand what his songs are saying. He is what I would call a lyrical genius!
So I'm thinking, this might be one of the best videos for any song ever, and the rhymes hold it together so well. If you keep doing this, you will be rolling in the dough soon enough. Good job, man.
Filmography Hao Zhihua appeared in the 1987 video documentary titled This is Kung Fu with fellow Beijing Wushu Team member, Jet Li. In 2012, Aesop Rock featured Hao Zhihua in the music video to his single called ZZZ Top. SOOOOO Her entire film career is just a kung fu doc in the 80s and this bad ass video for aesop, that is beyond cool
This showed up on my feed as a random video I might like, both the video and song are really AWESOME. It's upsetting that I have never heard of Aesop Rock before this....
This song is about the three great music revolutions.. first verse: Rock, second verse: hip-hop, third: punk..... skelethon is one of my favorite albums of all time.. I can't stop listening to it
Man, I love Aesop Rock with all of my bones, I take inspiration from this guy, can recite plenty of his rhymes, even dreamt about him a couple times. The new album is a fresh new page. The guy is a legend. But... what's the deal with this music video?
I love this version better than tge album version even more than the instrumental version. This whole thing is one big master piece. Thanks to everyone who had a pinky in this. Yo Aes, thanks for the lice
I don't hear the same lyrical genius as displayed on "Float" and neither the delightful beats from "None shall pass", but on the other hand, Aesops things never reached me on the first listen. There's just too much to it, things that you won't hear on the first time. And it is decadently kickass even now, so I'll keep my hopes up for this.
I don't usually comment in my own videos, but I'm STOKED that somebody picked it up. It was a little thing we threw in there just for giggles. good eye! -Pete Lee, director of ZZZ Top.
@@TaesWon420 I am not 100% what Pete Lee is referring to here, but I'm guessing it's the part where the hero of the third verse snatched the lipstick of his gf, the heroine of the music video snatches the throwing blade out of the wooden wall, all in sync
Saw them playing this at the Skelethon tour. It's like a full length movie, I hope he releases the full version on DVD. Shits badass...."ROCK ROCK ROCK"
when i first started watching this video i was like, "oh shit! they're gonna kill her!" then when the guy pulled out the knifes i was like "OH JESUS! I CAN'T TAKE THIS!!" but then shit got real. it was rad.
So does "see you at the bottom, Z, Z, Z, top". Is that a reference to the XYZ dimension, Z being up and down? I know its obviously a nod to ZZ Top, but could it also mean that?
i thought either cancer 4 cure or r.a.p. music was gonna take my top spot for hip hop albums in 2012, but this... this is gonna be a god damn contender
This is one of those songs that you can just zone out and the flow mixed with the beat sounds amazing but when you delve into the lyrics, holy shit. Aesop Rock has an incredible mind. I am kind of glad that the music video didn't have anything to do with the lyrics because it is better to imagine the three stories in this song than to have a music video that shows them. Music video is awesome though haha
Not even finished listening to this song for the first time and couldn't help but comment about his name dropping Miss Othmar. I knew I counted this dude as my favorite rapper for a reason.
That beat is an absolute masterclass in terms of uniqueness, unpredictability, with awesome pace and fruity sounds. God damn it Aesop, you saved hip hop for me!
Betty Li is a BEAST, is she for hire...!!! Rap songs like this sure don't need the use of fowl language, because it is already hard, it goes hard, and the rock beat is wickedly serious!
Before I get back to acting upon my own self will I just wanted to do my part in promoting this album. It is the best thing I have heard in a while! While there is a lot of good hip hop floating through space, this is some of the cream of the crop! Any comparable albums? If so please let me know. Peace!
Sorta. It's a video of him riding go-carts and the whole album is playing song by song as the audio of it. I wouldn't consider it as a music video though. Search "Aesop Rock-Skelethon Album".

Love this. Complete mental overload. Cant wait for more Skelethon
2 singles. 2 of my favorite Aesop Rock songs to date. Looks like we're getting a masterpiece.

It takes a LOT of listening to his stuff to truly appreciate it.
As someone who loves Aesop and also throws knives for fun....this made my year.

But do you know why.... folk fest magic
Who does these days?
SO good, the production on both the song and video were great! this album is going to be so dope!
The last few days before this album drops are probably going to kill me with anticipation.
Great song from a great artist.
Thanks Aesop!
Here just to give my love again for this video and song. Truly unrivaled

This should be the standard on which all videos are based. Best hip hop video I have ever seen. Period.

I have no more faith in humanity due to the fact this doesn't have millions of views after being up more than four-and-a-half years.
none shall pass has over 7 million views....
Same 😪
I have no faith in humanity because this has less 1 mil views in 12 years
Nvm! It has 1.3 mil plays on YT music.
Aesop, you have been the highlight of the week for me. Thank you so much for making someone you will never meet happy for this long of a time period
That sloppy crash cymbal is epic. Gets me hyped everytime i hear this jam.
Sent here from a buddy who said the DRUMS are KILLING on Aesop tracks. He aint lying.
With MF DOOM and Aesop on rhymesayers label my hometown Minneapolis. They has gone above and beyond my expectations and respect.

I'm from America and I used to by Terry's Oranges for my kids stockings at Christmas. I haven't been able to find them the past few years
I just saw this last night at the show at First Ave and thought it was a movie. Epic.

I gotta say, it makes me happy to know that EpicLloyd listens to aesop rock
Ayye i didnt know you guys listen to aesop
I thought it was the fake one from wish.com
I consider Aesop Rock to be his on genre of music. he is so original with his lyrics and delivery. Aesop Rock > Music
Wow, wasn't expecting this kind of music vid from Aes Rock. Normally they're more artsy but this is greatness.
So does "see you at the bottom, Z, Z, Z, top". Is that a reference to the XYZ dimension, Z being up and down? I know its obviously a nod to ZZ Top, but could it also mean that?
this is utterly ridiculously great
It's quite alive my friend. Mostly with underground artists. Asking for recommendations is a good starting point.
Whether you get this song or not will have a high correlation with whether or not you attended junior high in the mid 80s.
thats exactly what makes aesop so original and poetic
it's up for not even an hour, already pages of comments.
Bring aesop to the spotlightlights!
just gets better and better

and to think our fandom (assuming still current) is now old enough to drink, So cheers!
